    With the Home Ultimate card, will Officeworks allow you to split your transaction across multiple cards if you are buying Apple gift cards?

    Also, do they allow you to part pay using FB dollars when buying gift cards?

      Officeworks' instore checkout system will let you do split payments (well, at least it did a few weeks ago), but the bigger question is whether staff will allow you to do this. The worst I've had is one staff member express doubt split payments was possible, but they were willing to give it a go and it worked. Other people have been told "no".

      In terms of Flybuys Dollars, I don't think you can use it to pay for gift cards at Officeworks. I haven't tested it, but it appears Officeworks actually treats Flybuys Dollars as a discount voucher, not a payment method (similar to IKEA discount vouchers). Considering Flybuys Dollars is a recent implementation at Officeworks and the Officeworks website indicates you cannot use Flybuys Dollars to pay for gift cards, I really don't think it will work. I haven't tried it, because i have not had an excuse to try it out.

                After i saw comment re him eftpos card, went to coles chadstone and saw two different version.

                Now i have 5x$100 him eftpos card which apparently can't be used at jb based on comments 😭

    I bought the cards from coles which is an older version - starts with 5021- and only has 6 retailers listed on it. Does anyone know if that would still work with all the current retailers on the new card? I talked to the customer service and he said it doesn't matter what version you are using - old or new- the category has a list which is applicable to both. Can anyone confirm if they were able to use the cards at stores not on the pack but on the new cards?

      Not necessarily. I saw an Ultimate Him (EFTPOS) gift card this morning and it said it was issued by Blackhawk Network. That gift card was manufactured in January 2021.

      Wookie answered this on the third page and said OfficeWorks will work as the packaging hasn't been updated to reflect them being "in" now, since September 2022. Here's the info …

      "There have been three or four production runs for physical Ultimate gift cards, and only the latest production run (June 2022) included Officeworks on the front of the gift card packaging. This is due to Officeworks only starting to accept Ultimate gift cards as a payment method from the end of September 2022.

      What you need to keep in mind is that participating retailers change for at least one Ultimate gift card every few weeks, so the gift card packaging can quickly become out of date.

      The Ultimate gift card terms and conditions(ultimategiftcards.com.au) also makes it very clear that the full and updated list of participating retailers is on the Ultimate gift card website. This was also confirmed by a Blackhawk Network rep (WookieMonster, 2022).

      It is because you are looking that old stock of Ultimate Home (Visa) gift cards.

      Officeworks was only added as a participating retailer at the end of September 2022. However, Ultimate gift cards are manufactured in batches; the June 2022 and July 2022 batches of Ultimate Home gift cards was updated to include Officeworks, but older batches (e.g. October 2021) do not have Officeworks, because Officeworks was not being considered as a participating retailer at that stage. It takes months from a gift card being manufactured to it being displayed on a gift card shelf at a retailer.

      I have used physical Ultimate Home (Visa) gift cards with and without Officeworks on the gift card packaging, and all have worked at Officeworks.

      Btw, I also added an Ultimate Home gift card to Apple Pay this morning. It was a gift card manufactured in October 2021 (so it did not have Officeworks on the packaging), and the gift card image on Apple Pay clearly shows Officeworks.

      Remember, the source of truth for participating retailers is the Ultimate gift card website, not the gift card packaging.

    FYI, HER Cards dont work over the counter at EB Games but HIS card did. I had Visa cards. NSW seems to only have $50 value cards in some stores and mostly $30 cards. Staff was not to harsh on me doing multiple transactions, she did point out the policy.

    Just attempted purchasing a $100 JB eGift Card using Ultimate HIM card which was loaded onto Apple Pay Wallet - checkout went through but verification failed and order cancelled immediately and got an email from JB.

    Better to buy in-store.

      I had the same issue, but this happened on my 3rd gift card I was converting to a JBHiFi gift card. All subsequent transactions failed, even using someone else's details and incognito mode, not sure what the trigger was.

      Depends on their staff, basically you want to do a split tender transaction to the value of the gift card.

      Eg if you have $50 Ultimate cards you would be swiping the 15 through the terminal at the transaction value of $50 each.

        Yes, it depends. I brought the gift cards to JB Hi-Fi Galeries Sydney store and would like to buy the JB HIFI gift card because the thing I would like to buy is online only. The staff told me that they cannot do it because of the policy. I have to purchase sth at the same price in store and then return it immediately and then I got my refund as JB HIFI gift card. For anyone who cannot purchase the JB HIFI gift card using ultimate gift card directly, you can always use this way to do it. Although it will take some additional time.

    I arrived 7am and most of the cards have gone unless home! Coles Staff at Roseland took home cards, right after i got them, and she told another staff too. I can tell Coles Staff Roseland has bought most of the cards before other people came. Suprisingly, the self check out was closed from 7am up until maybe 8am
