                            @CheapBrah: bought a JB gift card with the value of the first Ultimate Card value ($30). Then wait till i get the JB GC sent via email. Then bought a $60 JB GC by paying $30 via JB gift card received via email and the rest using another Ultimate GC. Can potentially rinse and repeat with more gift cards

    Silly question - but I’ve seen a few comments about can only use 1 GC at Officeworks (even in store). Is this correct? Couldn’t see anything on gift card website or Officeworks website.

    Since Officeworks only comes in $50 nominations (from what I could see at my local coles the other day) - the 1 GC limit is going to really ruin my day.

      Where did you see that? You can certainly use as many as you like UNLESS an a-hole team member stops you from doing so. The system doesnt place any restrictions on the number of cards you can use.

        It’s definitely unusual for Officeworks staff to not allow split payments at all for instore purchases. In my experience, I’ve only had one staff member express doubts they could do split payments, but that was due to them thinking the checkout system would not allow it to happen. At least they were still willing to give it a go (and it worked, obviously).

    I wouldn't name the Coles store. But lady staff member said store employees took all the gift card before anyone comes in to buy them. What's the point of selling if people can't buy them. They should make a rule, staff or their family friends are not eligible to buy.

      If those Ultimate Him gift cards are the Visa version, it will work at JB Hi-Fi.

      If those Ultimate Him gift cards are the EFTPOS version, it will not at JB Hi-Fi.

      (If you want more information on determining an Ultimate gift card is the EFTPOS or Visa version, have a look at this comment. In recent times at Coles locations near me, the most likely Ultimate gift card to still be sold as the EFTPOS version is the Ultimate Him gift card, so I want to point that out before it is too late for you and you buy the wrong Ultimate Him gift card…)

        What bout the Teens and Kids EFTPOS version. At my coles both the Teens and kids EFTPOS are the only one left and they have the jbhifi logo on the card. It will work too right as long as JBHIFI logo is on the card.

          The EFTPOS versions of the Ultimate Home, Teens and Kids gift cards will work instore at JB Hi-Fi, because the Ultimate gift card website for the EFTPOS version said those particular Ultimate EFTPOS gift cards will work at JB Hi-Fi.

          I wouldn’t base it off the logos on the front of a gift card (or its packaging), because the logos on the gift card or its packaging could be wrong. If you look hard enough, you may find really old stock of Ultimate Her (EFTPOS) gift cards with the David Jones logo on it, but David Jones stopped accepting them in 2019 (if I remember correctly).

A previous comment of yours stated it should be VISA if it starts with 457284. Is the pictured card VISA?

    Hey just saw the comments in regards to EFTPOS version of HIM not working for jbhifi.

    If the any of the ultimate gift card EFTPOS version has jbhifi logo on the card, it can be use at jbhifi right ?

    I am assuming from the comments the old EFTPOS HIM did not have jbhifi logo printed on the card hence all we need to do is to ensure that the jbhifi logo is printed on the card or packaging ?

          If you are going to purchase instore, get as many Ultimate gift cards as you need to hit the $1200ish mark and then waltz over to your local JB Hi-Fi store and make the payment there.

          If you are going to purchase online and you want to use Ultimate gift cards to pay for it, you must convert your Ultimate gift cards into JB Hi-Fi gift cards first. Have a look at this comment for tips, but I will warn you that you will probably need to go instore to use Ultimate gift cards to purchase JB Hi-Fi gift cards, because JB Hi-Fi’s online store will randomly cancel some orders for JB Hi-Fi gift cards paid for with Ultimate gift cards. With that in mind, the higher denomination Ultimate gift cards (e.g. $100 Ultimate Him (Visa) gift cards) will be more desirable for your situation.

      In my experience, the checkout will prevent you from trying to purchase more than 5 gift cards, and staff will more than likely stop you if you're trying to buy more than 5 gift cards in one transaction. Heck, there have been some instances where staff have only allowed me to purchase 4x $100 gift cards in one transaction.

      The checkout system will not stop you from doing a second transaction if you scan the same Flybuys card and/or use the same card as the payment method, but staff most likely will. Remember, staff have to authorise each purchase of a gift card at Coles…

                Did you select Cash on the payment screen first, insert the amount of cash you wanted to pay, then go back to the payment screen and select Gift Card or Card to finish the transaction?

    I bought a $100 ultimate gift card by selecting gift card as payment method ( i had more than $100 in my coles gift card)

    However second transaction, i had 3 $100 ultimate gift card . Because i had only $200 left in my coles gift card, I had to do split payment.

    When I clicked split payment, it didn’t let me go through

      Yeah, you will trigger an error message if you press the Mixed Payment button.

      You have to either:

      • Press Cash on the payment screen, insert the amount of cash you wanted to pay, then go back to the payment screen and select Gift Card or Card to finish the transaction; or

      • Go to a standard checkout and complete the purchase there. (Some staff will let you try to use gift cards as a payment method, whereas others won’t.)

        Another tell tale sign is if the issuer is Heritage Bank Limited rather than Blackhawk Network.

        Also, the latest packaging includes the Apple Pay + Google Pay + Wallet symbols. If you see them, then you know you have the right HIM / TEENS / KIDS card (i.e. Visa network).

        so I want to point that out before it is too late for you and you buy the wrong Ultimate Him gift card

          False. The ones with heritage bank listed do work. The only ones which dont are the OLD grey eftpos cards with the 6 brands group on the front of the card (SCA, BCF, OAKLEY, DRUMMOND GOLF ETC)

      I just got 8 of those and used them this morning to get a PS5 disc version for $680 out of pocket costs ($799 price tag).

      The packaging on the gift card is out of date. The website of ultimate gift card is up to date and lists JB Hi Fi as included.

      The do work and are vid. Just make sure it is the Visa version of the gift card.

    After missing these all the times, i reached early (i thought) today at 12.05 AM. Actually i was 5 minute (too) late.

    There were groups of many friendly chinese bargainers. They picked all bunch of cards within them to calmly distribute 5 each within them. Hays off. I enjoyed, no gift cards though :)

      Lol! We must have visited the same store (Kurralta Park) and experienced the same thing. I was actually 25 minures late as I finished work after midnight. And people were still all over the GC shelf. I was after $100 Him gc, and someone said a guy took all of them from the shelf early. There were some $30 & $50 Her and Teen etc cards, but left the store defeated. Good luck to everyone to score some this morning.

        yeah, I asked the staff to try it and just cancel if it didn't have any discount. But we found it did have the discount.

    Managed to grab last few $100 Home cards at my local store. Will have to settle for getting $50 cards in my next visit. Never had to get so early to a store before opening 😂 Can Confirm Home cards get the discount.
