      • Do you mean you can only redeem 1 gift card at Officeworks? So I can only redeem 1x$50 Teen GC when I got instore?

    • +3

      buy ow giftcard first

      • Can you buy officeworks gc with these ?

        • yes

          • @yty1997628: What does this mean? How do you buy OW gift card with these?

            • @JoKing: Why on earth would you buy OW gift cards with these? Just look at the cards they sell, it would be nuts to buy an OW gift card.

              • @truetypezk: What do you mean? I’m trying to figure out what the other 2 users were talking about. I want to use a few gift cards at OW so I’m concerned about the possibility of them only accepting one.

              • @truetypezk: if you use these to buy multiple OW cards, thn i guess you can use the multiple OW cards together to make the OW purchase you want? 🤷🏾‍♂️

  • +7

Price check in the freezer isle, price check.

  • 💣

  • Can I buy gift cards with Flybuys points? I assume yes, but not certain.

    • +5

You cannot use Flybuys Dollars to purchase any gift cards at Coles. If you do this, you will get an Invalid Product Mix error on the EFTPOS terminal screen, which is Coles' way of saying you are not allowed to use that payment method for the purchase you are trying to make.

However, if you have a Flybuys account linked to a Coles Financial Services product (e.g. Coles credit card, Coles personal loan, Coles insurance policy) and that account has at least 2000 Flybuys points, you can redeem 2000 Flybuys points for an instant $10 discount, as you should get a prompt asking you whether you want to redeem 2000 Flybuys points for the $10 instant discount.

      • +2

Ahh damn!! Thanks for the info… Won't be embarrassing myself at the checkout now

        • +3

Or you can do the runaround way making it possible:
•Go KMART > buy (load) COLES&MYER GROUP giftcard with flybuys dollars
•Use those COLES&MYER GROUP giftcard to purchase Ultimate GC of your choice at Coles.

Keep in mind, for GC purchases you cannot split payment at Coles.
If you dont want leftovers funds left in the Coles&Myer GC, What I do is I calculate how much face value I want to get from Coles.
eg. I want $500 face value @Coles, therefore $500*0.85 = $425 is the actual value I buy (load) into the Coles&Myer GC @Kmart. Maximum is $500 load limit at a card from my experience.

          • @noelhoi: Can you use Kmart gift cards to purchase Coles & Myer Group giftcards at Kmart? Would be a nice added bonus purchasing using discounted Kmart giftcards.

            • +2

              @fedex11: No.

              • If you swipe a physical Kmart gift card, you will get an Invalid Product Mix error on the EFTPOS terminal screen.

              • If you scan the barcode of a Kmart gift card, you will get an error message on the checkout screen saying you cannot use gift cards for the purchase you are trying to make.

          • +1

@noelhoi: You can split but only with cash.
Eg: $120 of cards at 15% off is $102. Split payment $2 coin and $100 Coles Group & Myer GC.

            • @rpb: Good to know, But last time I tried it I clicked “Split Payment” and it spew some error right away, prompting the “Assistance needed” pop up. I just didn’t bother trying that button again after that.

          • @noelhoi: For some reasons, last time I tried to use a gift card to purchase another gift card at Coles, the checkout staff refused the transaction, saying that I can't use a gift card to purchase another gift card. So it is fine to use a Coles & Myer group gift card to purchase an Ultimate CG at Coles?

            • +2

@slimdusty: I always use self-checkout, and don’t really tell the staff what (gift)card I am using. Keep it hidden, as long as you know what you’re doing, you’ll be fine. As in, press pay using CARD at the payment page, NOT “Gift Card”

              • @noelhoi: Pigging backing off this comment. So could I use a standard Coles e-gift card to pay for these Ultimate cards by selecting 'CARD' at self-checkout?

              • @noelhoi: Thanks for that tip Noel!

            • @slimdusty: Some Coles self checkouts have been programmed to do that if you press Gift Card as the payment method, so there is always a chance that the self checkout you go to will do this to you. It’s happened to me a couple of times in the past, which is the reason that I pretty much go through a standard checkout if I want to use the barcode of a gift card (or gift cards) as a payment method for gift cards.

              • +1

@WookieMonster: Thanks for your reply WM, but the staff who refused to let me us a gift card to purchase a gift card was at the standard check out. Maybe it was just my bad luck to have a staff who happens to think that. I might try again, or go for the self-check out trick by pressing "card" as Noel suggests above.

                • @slimdusty: I only go through standard checkouts where I think (or know from experience) that the staff member will let me get away with it. I tend to pick on the more junior staff, as they’re less likely to know the correct processes. Don’t ever try to go through a standard checkout operated by a more senior staff member (e.g. service supervisor), as they’re more likely to knock you back.

If I have one physical gift card to use as a payment method, I always go through the self checkout. Having said that, when I tried to do this a couple of weeks ago when purchasing a gift card, the checkout asked for a phone verification code, which was a sign that the checkout was having problems communicating with the Coles gift card system in order to see whether funds were available for redemption on my Coles gift card. The duty manager was unfortunately the self checkout assistant and proceeded to give me a lecture on when I can and cannot use gift cards and to not attempt that again in their store!

          • @noelhoi: hi mate, is there a Bunnings giftcard at Kmart?

            • @dirtyhen: I've never seen a Bunnings gift card sold at Kmart. I've only seen physical Bunnings gift cards sold at Bunnings and Coles.

              • @WookieMonster: thank you

i've got some flybuy dollars to use, do you think I can buy Coles Gift Cards from Kmart using flybuy dollars, then use Coles Gift Cards to go to Coles and buy Bunnings Gift Cards?

      • Does that also apply to gift card purchases at Kmart etc?

        Cheers

        • I was able to use Flybuys Dollars to purchase a gift card at Kmart about a month ago, but keep in mind that Kmart can change this at any time. I have no idea if it works right now.

The $10 instant discount for CFS customers is only available at Coles. It is not available at Target, Kmart, Officeworks, etc.

      • You mean if i use my coles rewards mastercard, i can potentially get another $10 off? If so can I do 5 x gift card in 5 transactions and get $10 off each time?

        • Not quite.

You do not need to use the Coles Rewards Mastercard in order to use the $10 discount. You only need to scan your Flybuys card that is linked to your Coles Rewards Mastercard (and have 2000 points available on your account) in order to use the $10 discount. You can then use cash, one card, one gift card (if permitted) or a combination of cash and one card (or gift card, if permitted) to pay for the gift card.

If you do two separate transactions, you can redeem the $10 discount in both transactions (assuming you have 4000 points available on your account). Keep in mind that staff will have to approve each transaction where you are purchasing a gift card, so staff may become suspicious of you if you are splitting the purchase of gift cards across multiple transactions.

  • If only it had Ultimate Everyone

    • Everyone is also included :)

  • need 100 dollar value per card or not much interested

    • You mean $500 per card

      • Only way such denomination is possible is by using a variable load card (which are excluded under this upcoming promo).

        • yeah i know I was just saying $100 load is small and annoying for large purchases

          • +1

@Poor Ass: I think you can exchange them all into a super GC for the retailer that you want to target using https://exchangeyourcard.com.au/.

I have read that it does not work for JB Hi-Fi, TGG or Officeworks. So, kind of useless for most folks here.

            • @DoctorCalculon: So e.g 5 ultimate into one Super GC. What's a super gc?

              • @Poor Ass: Apologies. I meant to write a single (super) GC for the retailer of your choice.

                • +1

@DoctorCalculon: the only gift card I know that you can consolidate multiple gift cards into one is the Swap cards e.g. swap celebration… combine to make into a large ebay card etc

I've never seen the ultimate card being after you stack together to make a single card… you can only use what balance is avaliable on the ultimate card to exchange to another card. you can't stack like 100x5 cards into one

    • -1

Good luck with that… When they had this on sale a week or so ago, I called about 12 stores and visited a few, and the best I could find were a stack of $30 Kids and Teens cards. It's ridiculous. I have like $300 worth of $30 cards. Just need another $500 worth. Annoying, but still a saving.

JB's gonna love me using them on the PSVR2 lol.

      • I bought my daughter the apple laptop at JB's with those cards I bought and saved $300, no problem. They told us to scratch off the pin number on all the cards first before putting it through,. Worth it. I still have $1000 worth of cards to use. Need to buy some more to buy my mobile phone.

  • No Ultimate Home.. bummer. Still a great deal

    • what retailer would you use Home card for?

      • +1

Ultimate Home has JB, Good Guys and Officeworks.

It's the most flexible for electronics. If JB is having a sale, I can use it. but if JB doesn't have stock in my area, I can get Good Guys to price match and use the same gift card. Officeworks will also carry some items the other two do.

For example, I can stockpile these cards and get the iPhone 15 next year on release for 15% off.

Of course, there will always be a risk of them removing any of the mentioned retailers without any notice.

        • Ultimate Everyone

    • Can confirm ultimate home is discounted too! Just got 5 myself

  • 1 hour then all gone

    • Only if you are in NSW or VIC… Bloody locusts

  • +3

Thanks dealbot. No qualifiers or bs from me.. I'm amazed you get any crap comments considering how helpful your deals are. Thanks

  • Can we use multiple cards for one transaction?

    • +1

Depends on the store, if it's in store then generally they're ok (JB definitely ok). Online is very difficult, generally no - for a different gc I had to redeem them in the store gift cards first, then I could use a maximum of 3 per transaction only.

  • -5

Please bold JB Hi-Fi in your post

    • +3

Sorry, mate! Our resident bolding expert @jv wasn't available at the time @dealbot was putting up the description.

  • What is the largest value of gift card? Can you buy $500 or $1000 cards?

    • +3

I dont think any of these have variable value option. So largest is $100. $500 on variable value

  • +1

cant wait to get some of these. I want JBHIFI.

    I missed the last offer.

Do you really need to get in early - like when the store opens?

    • Generally yes. There's always accusations that people are hiding them in the days leading up.

  • +2

People have already gone and hidden 20 cards somewhere 🥳

  • How about the sales at wooli next week? Any hint?

    • +1

EDR offer on Airbnb, Event cinemas and Webjet gift cards.

      • thanks mate

  • +3

Stacks with the last day of my $10 off $100 spend via Commbank. Nice… T&C says its excludes giftcards but others redeemed no problem?

    • Yup every time.

    • Yes its fine.

  • So can you effectively purchase any number but in a group of 5 cards at a time?
As these are not linked to flybuys and discount is instant, can we buy 10 or 20, grouping them in 5's?

  • +2

Perhaps Ultimate Home is included as the advert doesn't exclude it, It's just not illustrated. Previous 15% off TCN gift card deal was more specific with what was excluded

    • +2

I think you’re right. They were included last year.

  • Do any of these cards ever have David Jones?

    • +3

Yes, Ultimate Her had it in its 1st release, probably pre 2019.

  • Does anyone know if there is a limit on the number of Him cards that can be used online at the Weber Store?

    • +1

It depends on which version of the Ultimate Him gift card you are referring to.

      • EFTPOS: Weber does not accept this version of the Ultimate gift card at all.

      • Visa: The online store will only accept 1x Ultimate Him gift card in one transaction, because the website will only let you use one Visa card in one online transaction. However, I see that the Weber Store website also sells gift vouchers, so you should be able to use an Ultimate Him gift card to purchase a Weber Store gift voucher. Having said that, I'm not sure how many Weber Store gift vouchers you can redeem in one online transaction, so you may want to reach out to Weber to see whether there are any limits on Weber Store gift vouchers.

I point this out, as there is always one person in each Ultimate gift card who gets caught out by purchasing the EFTPOS version.

    • I used a heap of the TCN cards instore last week and then tried to convert some more into weber cards. 1 card converted and the other wouldn't convert which was really frustrating and it was after hours so i couldn't convert them via a phone call either. I ended up missing the blackfriday deal due to this problem. TCN are not helpful at all and just say keep trying to convert.

  • -1

How many sales did they have in the last 3 months? It seems pretty frequent…. Not saying its a bad thing but one must wonder if they are making money… Looks like a crypto Ponzi scheme promising 15% returns

    • +1

I'll be careful stocking up on them…

      • +1

I buy them, and head across the road to JB/OW and redeem them immediately.

        • Do you redeem them for GC?

          • @Koipanda: I make purchases with them.

  • Do we know how it works when it comes to refund a JB Hifi order paid by these gift cards? Do we need to keep these gift cards even when their balance are zeroes in case we need to return something and the payment is refunded back to them instead of some new JB Hifi gift cards?

    • +3

They'd probably just give you jb credit

    • Yeah have done this before by using TCN gift card. Upon return of item they will refund you only in JBHIFI gift cards.

      • Good to know, thanks!

      • +1

Had an interesting experience at JB, paid using gift cards and balance with a CC. When I returned the item, the staff member said its just easy to refund it all to my CC and did it.

        • +1

Makes practical sense. Just hope their financial controllers aren't too attentive because they might have an issue with it

  • -2

Can I get some cards from when woolies and scan them at coles and pay for them?

    • +1

      Wow!

    • That's stealing. And no you can't.

      • +1

Card serial numbers are recorded by each retailer. ;)

    • +1

No but you can get some form coles now, pay for them later

    • +2

If you're going to steal why don't you steal them from Coles?

      • because they are all gone 🤷🏾‍♂️

      • Why don’t you steal the item you want instead so you get a 100% discount

  • Here we go again ..

  • What is the best one for JB? Both in-store and online.

  • +1

I gave up. no stock in any store I can find.
