  This is equivalent to the $19 Echo Dot. Without looking at anything else, it feels like the build quality is much better on the Amazon Echo 3rd gen.

    It’s going to come down more to which ecosystem you use than the quality of their mini assistant/speaker offerings.

  Those have gone on sale for ~$19 quite a few times. Think it’s good value for $19, for $35 it’s probably borderline.

  Tried this for awhile but returned it for the echo because this doesnt have an "intercom" system like the echo's Drop In. But voice recognition on google is better.

    It has the broadcast system?

    You tell Google you want to send a message to a certain room or speaker group and it'll play that message. i.e. "Kids dinner is ready"

    I'm not familiar with the intercom system of Echo so not sure what the function there is.

      Echo has the annouce system which is the same as google broadcast. But it has an additional function called Drop-In where you can have a continuous 2 way conversation. Like a phone call.

  They practically have these things away, one could be had for a couple packs of Tic Tacs.
