This offer just about halves the previous best (on a "per camera" basis): see here

This is a 4-pack of the basic wifi Tp-Link Tapo C100 (works out to $13.90 per camera).
And there is 11% discount if buy more than one pack (works out to $12.40 per camera).

[Edit: Good comment by @plasmapuff below… look at the "buying options" / "other sellers" sections on the Amazon page for alternate stores, and look at the PCLive seller (AU), as the Amazon UK ones will come with UK plugs (the Harris Technology option is OOS)]

This is a no frills camera (but with decent HD video), without cloud storage.
It comes with a simple app.

But the best bit… it is accessible via RSTP.
This means you can connect via VLC / NVRs, and there is an integration for Home Assistant.

These are coming via Amazon UK, so will not likely get here before Christmas.

I paid a couple of bucks extra to get it from Harris Techonology, but they only have a couple of packs left.

[Edit: Never mind… appears in CamelCamelCamel that these four packs have been at a good price for a while… but still - I think this deal is very good value]

[Edit: And here is some sample footage])

      Ffs

    • If they confirmed it’s an error, why they still didn’t update the listing ? Still showing as 4 packs?

      • Probably a system error that takes a while to correct.

      • +2

        it's the weekend brah

  • +1

This seems like just one camera. The price is normal for 1 camera. Details are for one camera.

Only thing is that "4 Pack" in the title which seems like a typo or error.

No way they are going to sell each camera for $13 each when it's about $50 typical price.

  • Nice, any good TAPO deals on ebay?

  • Ordered. Description says 4 pack, hopefully it's honoured by Amazon or if pricing error is confirmed will cancel or return.

  • Maybe the terminology "4 pack" refers to the camera + stand + base + cable?

    • +16

Great thinking. Maybe it's a 10 pack because it contains a box, several plastic wrappings, instruction manual etc.

Good deal on a 10 pack of cameras.

    • I don’t think so. The listing title has been changed and its 1 Camera now like the usual.
My order has been shipped and the order title says 4-pack. Keeping fingers crossed.

      • The order title says it but the invoice doesn’t…

        • True that. Well, I’m hoping fortune favors the brave :)

  • +1

do they work with tuya smartlife app?

    • Nah, they just use Tapo, which is a different ecosystem.

  • +2

why so many upvotes when we aren't sure if it's actually 4 cameras

    • -1

If price error => free $10 “we are sorry voucher”

      • +2

But we still have to beg for it. They don't hand them out of courtesy. Last time I got $5 but wasted more time chatting to them.

    • +1

I doubted the authenticity of a deal once, and decided it wasn't worth the trouble when it would obv be cancelled.

      Guess which deal that was?

  • I have one of these, bought it in store for something like $40. I reckon it's pretty good, though it's the only security cam I've owned. The app is a bit slow but day and night video quality has been great.

  • +1

Under the main description there is a heading "There is a newer model of this item" with a link. Model (TC60) for $58.81. Seems to be identical. Possibly clearing the C100??

  • If you have a Synology NAS
These cameras can also work with the Synology Surveillance Station
Which allows you to also store your footage into NAS instead of just relying on each SD card (You lost those footage if someone grab your ip camera / sd card)

Using the same NAS to run Home Assistance with Docker
The cameras can easily integrated in HA dashboard (Easier to work with Surveillance Station, but also can add RTSP individually)

If you have Apple TV at home
You can integrate HA with Home Kit
Making these cameras footage to show in Apple "Home" app

  • @bf a little typo, its RTSP which stands for Real Time Streaming Protocol
    Good post btw!

  • +1

They have removed "4-pack" from the description now.

Tracking detail on my order - the carrier has picked up the package.

    • Enjoy your 1-pack camera!

      • I knew well it just might be 1 pack. But its amazon who has to fix it. Worst case i need to drive to post office 2 minutes away and return it.

  • is this deal still on?

  • Doesn’t say 4 pack anywhere now.

  • Oh (profanity), ordered just for fun and giggles and extra $5/10 for “sorry we have (profanity) up” apology credit.

Now I have received the email for dispatch:

    Hello,
We thought you'd like to know that Amazon UK dispatched your item(s).

Your order is on the way, and can no longer be changed. If you need to return an item or manage other orders, please visit Your Orders on Amazon.com.au

    • +1

So what? You ordered the 4 pack. If they don't send you a 4 pack, then you can follow it up for a resolution.

Hopefully they let us keep the 1 pack for free instead of trying to handle reverse logistics on all these products from the UK.

      • You'll have to send it back to the UK.

        Good luck.

  • +1

I like how the item's question-answer section still refers to the 4-pack…

Question: This states 4 pack - could I confirm that this is 4 cameras or a single camera that comes with this purchase
Answer: Four cameras. Check your power plug region, I had to send back as was incorrect. By Travis Young on 10 December 2022

    • +3

Screenshotted. We will need this firepower for the negotiation.

  • Ordered 10 Dec 2022, 18:48
Got a confirmatikn email at 0:27 11 Dec 2022 that the order has been dispatched.

  • mine haven't dispatched yet

  • nevermind, it's dispatched, hopefully i will get 4, otherwise it's actually more expensive than buying locally

  • The '4 Pack' has been removed from the listing title now…. Should be interesting to see if those that ordered during the period where it said '4 Pack' in the title actually receive 4x TP-Link Tapo C100 cameras

Fortunately if it ends up being just 1 camera then you have the option of sending it back free-of-charge via Amazon returns, and likely get a $10+ good-will credit for the stuff around if you approach Amazon Live Support…. assuming the listing title in everyone's order history shows '4 Pack' otherwise the Live Chat rep will likely play dumb and gaslight you into thinking you stuffed up haha.

    • +3

My order history shows 4 pack, but the invoice shows the current listing details. I don't expect anyone would receive the 4 pack unfortunately.

      • I'm on the same boat, so should I ask for refund now you reckon?

        • +2

It's probably too late if your order is already shipped.

I would wait till it's received before "complaining" to Amazon.

  • Order has been shipped from UK. Hopefully they will let us keep the item for free if it’s only 1 pack. It happened before when they shipped the wrong item, just tell them you work full time and don’t have time to go to the post office to send it back, it’s their fault anyways

  • +1

Invoice only says 1 - does anyones say 4?

    • +1

checked my invoice. no 4pk indicated:

  • -4

Everyone who ordered. Enjoy your 1-pack camera lol.

For refunds, have to ship parcel back to the UK lol.

    • +1

      someone is seething hard

      • -8

lol I don't need these cameras. I get better ones for free from work.

I just enjoy seeing people waste time and money 😂

    • +2

How hard did you lol? Did you fell of your chair?

      • -5

I was rolling on the floor 😂

    • It's hardly any effort for returns with Amazon. And sometimes resolution can be negotiated — I've asked for half refunds in the past, effectively allowing me to keep the item for half price (not as good as a 75% discount sure, but better than any other deal).

Or just tape the box back up, stick the free shipping returns label on, and drop it at the post office. As soon as it scans at an Amazon depot, money's back in my account.

      • -5

Time money effort travel for a potential $10

Not really worth it. But you do you.

        • 5mins on Amazon support chat and I've now got 2 free cameras. Seems worth?

  • +2

I’m doing a label-less, no printer required return now. Very disappointed by the incorrect listing.

    • Did your order arrive from Amazon UK?

      • Nope. It was delivered from Harris tech

        • +2

Try telling them it’s their fault and you work full time and don’t have time to go to post office to drop off the parcel, they might let you keep the item for free

    • +1

Try to approach Amazon Live Chat with your complaint and they will likely offer you a $10+ good-will credit. I have had success in getting them to cough up good-will credits in the past. I believe it's $20+ for when the item has been dispatched and received incorrectly, and $10+ if it's cancelled prior to dispatch (eg. Pricing error) - but don't hold me to that.

Give it a go, got nothing to lose.

  • +1

Received the item, only one camera as mentioned, Amazon rep could clearly see that it was listed as four cameras on the original order and that other customers had ordered it with that belief. Rep offered a 10 per cent discount on the camera (how generous!), I complained a bit more and they gave me the item for free. Not sure what I will do with it, I use Reolink cameras and was happy to work in another system at $14 a camera but I'm not going into another ecosystem with more apps etc at full price.

  • Received a single pack like everyone else…what a waste of time and effort

    • Ask to keep it for free, call the support and tell them you don’t have time to return it since it’s not your fault

  • Received this item today. It is a single Camera

  • +1

I called them up, and I managed to get a Full Refund, and got to keep the 3x Cameras I received.

They also offered me a Promo Code If I wanted to order the other 9 Cameras for the same price I paid for the 3.
I decided to go for the Refund.

  • Spoke to 2 agents at 1030pm and both wont give any credit. Will just return it back to UK

  • +2

Requested a call through the app. Told them I don’t have time to return it. They’ve refunded the full amount and letting me keep the camera.

  • +3

Just received my one pack of camera, gave Amazon support a call, I just told them I only receive one pack and they proactively offer a full refund and ask me to keep the item. Just a one minute call. Nice outcome

    • same here

  • +1

Got mine this morning too. Not surprising only received the one. Will follow everyone's else lead for a refund.

Edit: I used messaging, got my refund : )

  • One camera delivered like others. Asked for 3/4 refund or the other 3x cameras delivered. Got a full refund and to keep the camera.

  • Full refund offered immediately, no return

  • Full refund for 2x items, no return. Had to go through the chat which was a bit challenging but 15 minutes is worth $100 refund! Plus two free Tapo cams. Not behd…

  • +1

Same as everyone else, got a full refund and was asked to keep the camera.

  • Easy chat, told order says 4 , received 1.
No questions asked. Full refund and able to keep the item

  • Tried chat to get a refund but they would only create a return label. 2 seconds on call with support and they issued the refund no questions asked.

  • +1

I received 1 pack, chatted to amazon on chat which kept insisting I send a photo even though I told them my box is the same as the listing photo, then he was going to generate a return label. So I called, the girl originally said I can pay 25% of the cost (55/4) and keep the one camera, then I asked for full, she spoke to manager and then processed a full refund and keep the camera.

Congrats to the others that also received and enjoy the free Christmas present!

I already own a c200 so this is cool to benchmark performance with the c100 and also have 2 views in the same app.

Well well well, well well well, well.

    • Did you call the girl on this number1800 571 894 ?

      • +1

Go to contact amazon and they call you instantly.

    • +1

      Received one camera.

Opened chat window with Amazon support who wouldn't budge on giving 75% refund.
Hang up if you get Nehl Jiernam.

Closed the window and got another chat person who gave me full refund instantly without questions asked.

      • How did you open the chat window? It seems to be going in circles for me.

        • It was going around in circles for me when I tried using the phone callback feature. So I used the chat window which worked perfectly fine for me. Maybe try using a different browser.

  • +1

Got a bunch of screw driver not cameras! Full refund, no need to return.

  • Boys and girls be careful, İt is came today, and you can guess… there is only one item, yes only one camera in a package… dont trusting.
    I officaly complainted.

    • Damn, what am I gonna tell my 4 kids??? Now they gotta share 1 camera.

  • Ordered two 4packs, received 2 singles.

Spoke to Amazon and they initially offered to create a return label and full refund.

I asked if they can just refund without returning as I'm unable to return and they agreed "as it's Amazon's mistake". The agent readily agreed to this and there was no need to check with manager/escalate.

  • Thanks for the Christmas present Amazon. Got a refund without having to return the item.

  • Got 1 (instead of 4, as expected). Spoke to Amazon customer care and lady said she will get in touch with seller for full refund and I can keep the item. No email confirmation on refund yet.

  • Just got myself a single free camera. Not sure what to do with it now.

  • 'We are processing your refund. You don't need to return the item back to us!'

    Well blow me down

  • First online rep didnt want to refund me anything, said I had to return it. 2nd one offered 3/4 refund initially and then the full amount.

  • Amazon just send email to advise error listing and would only be receiving 1 camera and not 4. No compensation. Only offering a refund if item is returned.

    • +1

I just got the same email.

After going through the process, it says 'We are processing your refund. You don't need to return the item back to us!'

      • can you define "the process" you are referring to? i'm getting grief from the chat reps
