While the previous deal was marked expired due to the increase of Disney Plus memberships, I thought it would be a great idea to re-share this workaround (since it’s still ~60% cheaper than Aus membership ($139.99)1 :) ) and credit to the original OP and Pricebeat for their methods

For Android users:

  1. Create new Google account on phone
  2. Delete cache in Google Play Store (not sure if needed)
  3. Select new account in Google Play Store
  4. Add payment method and select Turkey as Country.
  5. Uninstall Disney+ if you have it installed.
  6. Open Google Chrome/browser on your phone in an incognito window. Set your window to desktop mode.
  7. Search Disney+ on Google Play store in your browser.
  8. Log in on new account and remote install Disney+ to your phone
  9. Open app on phone and pay in TRY

For iOS users:

  1. Create Turkish Apple ID

Go to https://appleid.apple.com/account
Follow the onscreen steps. In the mobile number section use your Australian mobile number (Very important to use a valid number or risk losing your ID). Choose country as Turkey. Then follow through the rest to create your ID. Login into Apple ID on a browser. Go to this link to enter a Turkish address to your Turkish Apple ID and save.

  1. Go to Settings on your iPhone/iPad > Your Name > Media and Purchases > Log out from your current ID and login with your Turkish Apple ID

  2. Go to App Store and download Disney Plus app > A pop up may appear to confirm your details > Choose payment method as “None”

  3. Buy TL iTunes gift cards from TurGame (50TL/TRY x 13 gift cards) > Choose currency as TL/TRY and pay with international transaction fee free card.

  4. Redeem iTunes gift cards(apple.co) by going to App Store > Account (located at right top corner) > Redeem gift cards or code.

  5. Open Disney Plus App > Sign Up

  1. 1 Turkish Lira = 0.0803499 Australian Dollar
    Your transaction amount of 649.90 TRY = 52.22 AUD in your card currency     ↩

      would assume that's part of the reason, same as why netflix does price increases for Turkey every so often as the lira just keeps dropping & streaming services get cheaper (for those overseas ;-)

    Didn't work for me. Once reinstalled, the Disney App showed $, even before logging in. Are you sure a VPN is not required?

    Should the phone be signed into the new Google account too?

      Do not mess with your everyday google account country. You can only change it once a year. Hence instruction starts with create new google account.

        That's what I did, sorry I wasn't clear, I made a new account. I got up to step 4 but Australia had already been locked in as my country. I suspect it happened automatically when i added payment method ?? Thanks for the warning though

    I created new google account from the phone.
    I add my debit card detail and select the country to Turkey (address generator)
    Remote download and install app from play store on the phone.
    But step 9, still show me the AU price also after I sign in with google account just set, still AU price.

    I tried twice, create two accounts, same result.

    Anyone having issues paying for the apple gift cards through turgame? I tried apple ones and the payment methods don’t seem to be working. I used the GPAY and TLPAY options, both failed with payments. Each order is showing as failed or pending payment

    I was nervous, but this is working like a charm for me. So thanks very much for the instructions.
    I did have a step which I was confused by and a couple of questions.

    1. What is the reason for changing the currency in Turgames to Turkish Lira? By default, mine were in Euros. I ask because when paying, the popups were in Turkish and I needed to get them translated. No-one mentions this in the forum, so I wondered if it was just me.

    2. When I first used my Disney Plus after completing the new annual subscription, I got a message which said, "it looks like you are travelling". Has that happened to anyone else? It seems to work fine though I did have to log out of my Apple TV to get Bob's Burgers to work. Both, which could have been coincidences.

    Notes for others which might be useful:
    - I didn't use a VPN for any steps
    - The gift cards are only retrievable in Turgames when your payment is processed. Mine took overnight.
    - There are some very small transaction & service fees in Turgames.
    - I don't have GPAY google pay, so I used PAYTR (I had to google GPAY to know which one to use).
    - Turkish currency option was hidden under a popup across the top of the website.

    Finally got it working on Android! Step 4 mucked me around really badly as it forces you to have an Australian payment profile if you add your payment method first, worth doing it not within Google Play to get a Turkish payment profile, then add your aussie card to it after you have confirmed it as a Turkish payment profile.

    Keen to get on board just wondering across multiple family devices how does this work on iOS/ TVOS. Do I need to type in email address and password or do I need to Sign in with Apple on all devices and does this create a problem across kids accounts ? At the moment we are subscribers through iTunes so it all works seamlessly with family sharing. Just not sure how it will work. Any advice greatly appreciated

    Anyone else having issues using Disney+ on other devices?

    I went through the process - new Android device, new google account, new payment profile in TRY, new Disney+ subscription - all went through fine… however the subscription only works on the device that it was purchased on.

    If I try to sign in on another device (computer or android) with the same account, it logs in but presents a "Complete Subscription" button and asks me to pay again.

    If it start to watch a movie on the initial device, which works, and try to stream via Chromecast, it transfers and looks like it's starting, but comes up with an error.

    All fine to subscribe and can access from any device.

    Content though is gimped, only Star Wars cartoons, 20 documentaries in NatGeo, etc.

    Anyone else have this issue?

    Trying to sign up using IOS, I've created a Turkish appleid, went to turgame to purchase the 13 apple gift cards, tried twice to GPAY but FAILED twice, then tryed via PAYTR a few times and it comes up with this error ({"status":"failed","reason":"paytr_token gonderilmedi veya gecersiz"})..
    Anybody knows what I'm doing wrong?

      Payment option via PAYTR finally worked in the end (did nothing different, just had to keep trying for many days) and payment was successful, had to enter my AU mobile number after checkout so they can contact me re: security or something (had to translate to English).
      I received my apple gift card codes the day after, put them in the new Turkish AppleID I created and subscribed through the Disney plus app for a year and all is good :)

    Just wanted to share my thanks, this method worked for me (Android), signed up at $52~/yr
    Side note, the account i used, first time i added a payment in my play account, just asked for the country, but i decided to remove that payment and added another payment/card and the 2nd time it asked me for an address, just generated a random one and the new payment/card was saved with no issues, did not affect signing up.

    Has anyone done this for re-subbing via iOS? So, if i buy the gift cards, add to my account, will it give me an option to use gift cards? Right now, i follow the process to re-sub (using an already existing, expired account) and it asks to input credit card or mobile in payment options. I havent got gift card credit yet though, so maybe it checks that first before asking for CC/mobile. Want to make sure before i go and order the gift cards.

      i sucked it up and had a go. So i can confirm that it does in fact check itunes balance before asking for CC details. So yes, you can re-sub using the same account on iOS. I'm good to go for a year via turkish disney using the method outlined by the OP.

          i did try, iirc, you just can't add credit card details to your turkish account. Either that or my bank rejected it (Commbank). Eitherway, i tried and was forced to go the gift card route.

    FYI to anyone on Android, it said 140 p/y for me too, I clicked ahead cautiously and it reset to 649 TRY (52.xx AUD) and charged me correctly, just obviously don't confirm paying any more, but don't be worried if it says that, bc it did for me and it was fine. No VPN or anything beyond the steps outlined required.

    Anyone got this to work recently (android method)?
    I tried last night, steps 1-3 no trouble.
    At 4, added a payment method which locked me to Australia and I couldn't change it…. Looked in the comments and saw suggestions to select the country prior to adding payment method.
    Gave that a go, again 1-3 no problem. At 4, try to select my country in google play - won't let me, there's no option there. I have (greyed out):
    "Country and profiles (greyed out)
    Switch to the Australia Play Store (greyed out)
    Add credit or debit card
    Add paypal"

    Trying the above on wifi in case that matters. Also the payment method I added (first attempt) was paypal, worth trying debit card directly?

    Wondering if they've put in some form of cooling off period or something before one can set the country now? (Which would seem odd.)

    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    On iOS here and been trying for a few hours and can't figure out what's going on.

    I have enough credit and my Apple ID is Turkey based. I try and subscribe, get the correct amount for monthly or annual.

    But when I follow through (Step 4 of 4) and use my fingerprint/password to verify, it comes up with an error "Your Purchase Could not Be Completed".

    Any ideas?

    For those who've successfully done this on Android, it's unclear exactly what needs to be done and seems to be asked at regular intervals in some manner in this thread:

    4. Add payment method and select Turkey as Country.
    - What payment method do I add? & see below
    - Where/How do I select Turkey as Country?

    9. Open app on phone and pay in Try.
    - Using what payment method? What works? I know from prev. method that I cannot charge TRY to my Bendigo Bank debit card, nor prepaid Mastercard.
    - Seems like purchasing Play Store credits from TurGame is potentially a solution, though I've only seen it referenced as used for Play Store once, and many reports in general about potential issues with credits being issued after purchase…. Looking for some confirmation really

    Any assistance or input, from whomever, would be greatly appreciated!!
