    It would be but there is a big handle that helps with moving shots. That handle is an overkill/unnecessary item for photography. Plus it will increase weight and reduce portability. Generally speaking, ballheads are preferred for photography.

    What ^ said. Video tripods may also have a fluid head useful for smooth panning whilst filming. But unnecessary if you'll just be using the tripod for taking photos.
