  • Any 1000w deal?
Was looking for a PSU for i7/r9+4080/7900xtx

Since I've bought ddr5 ram and a hdd last week for a computer I don't have thanks to Ozb, seems logical I need a psu next, this or hold out for a deal on a Corsair rm850x (or even an 850e) ?

    • This is supposedly same tier as the corsair so I'd say take it.

    • I am sure it's a good PSU but I would not buy anything other than Corsair anymore. They have the best track record in my view.

  • It was $155 when I bought it late November and then Aramex lost it through Amazon not worth the hassle paying more…

Had this for a few months now and has been great. Fixed my black screen power issues with my 3060 Ti. Not as cheap as it has been in the past, but would still recommend.

    • Likewise.

Included cables are also flat, so makes cable management easy.

    • I have this black screen issue as well. How did u end up fixing it?

  • Had a 750 of these once. Blew up after a few months. Stick to corsair platinum. They're high quality.

    • Doesn't Corsair use the same manufacturer as Thermaltake for their plats (HX)? Dunno if there would be much difference in quality.

Looks quite quiet until 600~650W, then it ramps up to >30dB which is still not too bad https://www.cybenetics.com/index.php?option=database&params=…

Will this fix the coil whine from my 6900 xt? I've read it may be a PSU issue. I currently use a EVGA SuperNOVA GA Series 750W 80+ Gold Fully Modular Power Supply

    • I read that too but sure your existing PSU is good quality. Anecdotally mine may have gotten worse switching from a shitbox one to a gold 850w.

Coil whine seems to be getting more common. I feel like I need to switch to a quiet case instead of Max airflow case.

    • No coil whine on my 6900XT however I use this 1000w PSU:
