PORTING YOUR OWN EXISTING NUMBER TO BOOST:
You can request to port your own number to Boost when activating the SIM. Before porting your number, contact your current service provider to confirm personal details. Make sure your Name and Date of Birth registered with the number are 100% correct including spaces. Ask to update your details if anything is incorrect. Once confirmed, provide the exact same details to Boost to initiate the porting. Some carriers will send you an SMS to authorize the porting request, so make sure the current SIM is inserted until the service is disconnected. Telstra users need to contact Boost first before porting their number.

    • There are some T&Cs attached to that offer, and the sim must be activated within 30 days.

      • I see no reason not to get that offer on 31/12 and activate it by 31/01 and save $32 (20%)

        • Not everyone has the same circumstances I believe.
          Maybe someone's plan is expiring in February, and so on and they want to port to BOOST and will not be able to use that offer.

          • @oztechtraders: You have a valid point, but there might be a better deal in February though, and ozbargainers do like to take some risk for (potential) cheaper deal.

      Hi,
      The current offer is 140GB if activated before 31-01-2023. It can be more or less after this date. It will depend on what kind of offer Boost will come up with.
      But the 140GB offer has been on for more than five months.

  • Why does it always say you can't be an existing customer, but customer service always happily activate your sim and transfer it over for you.

      Hi,
      It's between the customer and Boost customer service if they can help to use this sim as a recharge for the existing customers, but this is a starter kit preloaded with a $200 credit, not a recharge voucher.

      I tried this last week, they refused. I have two $300 sims for new and my wife. So I had to go get a couple of $2 Voda sims to port out and back again. Haven’t done that yet though. But yeah the chat dude said I have a type of sim that only is for new customers. Maybe I could try another customer rep.

      Either 'hang up and call again' via chat for a different operator until someone will … or port out to non-Telstra e.g for 24 hrs to Optus / Voda (or virtual provider) $2 sim … then port back to Boost. Tah Dah.

      • Yep I tried again and was fine. You need to ask them to activate the new SIM with your existing number. It's a 2-step process by the sounds of it.
