What did the pies cost beforehand?? $6 for a frozen pie…

    • +3

To be fair, those stale mass produced definitely frozen pies at the servos cost almost $6 too…
I am sure these pies are atleast better than those

Can confirm. Great pastry, and some of the pies have expensive ingredients like prawns.

I’d honestly rather a servo pie than a “fancy” prawn pie.

          Always blow on pie!

      • Don’t think $6 a pie that you have to cook yourself can be classed as a deal. Unless it’s a family sized pie I guess?

        • +2

LOL, that's like saying I don't think a $450 graphics card that you have to install yourself can be classed as a deal.

Not all graphics cards are the same, and not all pies are the same. And the fact that you have to heat (not cook) the pie yourself is basically irrelevant.

          • @prhino: What I’m saying is this is absolutely not a deal. What’s the RRP of these pies? Are you an associate of this company? I don’t think I’ve ever been in a premium pie shop and bought a ready cooked pie for much more than $6. I’m not saying it’s a bad price at all just hardly a deal. It obviously is relevant price wise and convenience wise whether or not you have to cook (or heat) food.

@jjno41: "Not a deal" says the guy who posts a $93:duffle bag, an $800 home pizza oven and a $1900 TV as deals 😂

Nope, not associated, but felt it was a good deal. $6 for a high quality pie is a good deal. Even some country bakeries in Victoria are charging higher than that for a standard meat pie.

It's ok though, you don't have to buy any.

Some quick googling of Perth's best pie shops (you appear to be from Perth) shows prices of 7.50-13.50 for decent pies. So I'm not sure which "premium" pie shops you're going to.

        • +1

lol what are you talking about…
Whatever happened to convenience, you’d shut down half of the hospitality industry with that flawed logic.

Who cares about comparing to servo pies when there's pretty great pies for a third the price at colesworth?

        • -1

Colesworth don't sell any pies I'd even eat, let alone pay for, and certainly don't have any "pretty great" pies

          • -1

@prhino: If you don't like Herbert Adams pies, but think these random $6-on-sale frozen pies from weeks back are a great deal …. there's something seriously wrong with you.

            • -1

@Grazz989: I've had Herbert Adams pies before. They were not great. Not Four and Twenty bad, but definitely not great, and not worth more than $1 or $2. Have you actually had the pies I posted about, to make a comparison? And do you really think that Herbert Adams pies are any fresher?
