  • any thoughts on this for gaming ?

Pay a little bit more and get the TCL C835. This is not a gaming TV.

You mine as well get the Eko from BigW for $499 if you're going to get this.

      • thanks mate, thought the refresh was a bit low at 60hz

Aren't all TVs 50/60 Hz and all the 100, 200, 300 Hz models are (mostly) gimmicks like some post-processing smoothening etc.?

Disagree completely. Philips are miles above an EKO POS in terms of quality in all areas.

A Philips will have a much snappier menu, better picture quality, faster turn on speed, better viewing angles and more likely to last 3-5 years over the 6 months you could get from an EKO.

Maybe get the 58 inch for $625.00 instead if trying to fit into a budget: https://www.amazon.com.au/PHILIPS-58PUT7605-79-Virtualizer-F…

It's closer to the size you were looking for and $274.00 cheaper. If you wanted android tv, just add a chromecast with GTV and you'll still be saving $200~.

Can't speak for TCL comparison, but this will crap on an EKO hands down…

Not sure what your gaming requirements are, but if you're not needing 120Hz for XBSX/PS5 etc etc, a Philips should be fine.

$900 for a 65" LCD tv these days isn't that good of a deal considering the plethora of clearance TVs available right now.

    Ambilight or go home.
