Papa need a eufy 2k doorbell with homebase… and maybe a 4 pack 2k set

    • +5

I read something about them being easily hacked/ viewed by the server. Also keeping peoples videos?

      Are they going out cheap?

      • Idk about easily jacked but yeah there was that leak issue about thumbnails

        • Apparently if you have the cameras serial number you can just enter it and view it in full.

So worries were sketchy people taking serial numbers instore, then using them later, or just random number generators eventually hitting a camera.

Also Eufy got busted keeping people streams, when they claim they didnt.

          • @tunzafun001: Also creating a hash key (unique identifier) of every face their cameras see, and those hash keys match for every camera you stand in front of allowing EUFY to track every single person who stands in front of one of their cameras anywhere in the world.

This is alongside all of their other security concerns.

I have a Cam 2 Pro 2K setup and it's awesome. The 4 pack with base station will be sub $1k tonight.

      • I really like having the spotlight function … but the other one has way better battery life…

    • still same price past 7pm

      • Not 7pm AEST yet

        • Thanks! i didnt know AEDT even existed :p

      • Idk what u expected but these eufy prices are more than bf pricing lol

        • good point, will give it a miss

Supercheap sell alcohol now? I wouldn't recommend

    • You beat me to it :)

    • +1

You don't drive an alcohol fuelled car as your daily?

      • E85 isnt cheap to run daily!

        • +1

Was $3.20 per litre last week!

I remember when E85 support was a headline feature….i bet 0.000001% actually used it.

  • Hey @dealbot tell me how come this ended up in the "Alcohol" Category? I'd know Supercheap Auto sold Alcohol.

  • +4

It says starts 7PM not 8

    • +2

      7pm aest is 8pm aedt….

      • I'll place a bet on it starting at 7PM AEDT and someone has just stuffed the timezone.

…Although I forgot about QLD still being on AEST the weirdos.

        • SuperCheap is based in Qld.
          Email received states 7pm AEST
          Which is 8pm AEDT

        • +8

QLD still being on AEST the weirdos

Lol… Unlike those in the "South", Qld extends almost to the Equator (a short tinnie ride South of PNG). Where there is almost no difference in daylight hours between Summer & Winter.
So no point in changing the time zone - just to suit the Southerners!

Unlike those down South who confusingly change their time zones twice a year! Now that's just weird!

Those in the West are so behind the times😉

          • -2

@INFIDEL: 😂😂 "Queensland extends almost to the equator", but it's like 4-5 hrs flight from Qld to Singapore which is 100km north of equator

            • +2

              @Best Deal Hunter: Totally irrelevant!
That's got nothing to do with Time Zones in use in Australia!
(Flight times are governed by many other factors. A flight from those Torres Strait islands could add an extra day, despite being nearer the Equator!)

The further the distance from Equator the greater the difference in hours of sunlight at different times of year.
With the large difference in sun hours in the South, between Summer & Winter, it makes sense to have Daylight Saving changes to Time Zones there.

Hence the difference in Summer Time Zones, based on Lattitude of States.

Although Qld localities can operate on AEDT or dual times for Southern tourists. There have been proposals for Qld to split in 2 based on Lattitude - to allow Daylight Saving below Rockhampton. It was seen as an administrative nightmare for little benefit.

            • @Best Deal Hunter: flight from where?

          • @INFIDEL: Big state, esp when 100km+ is a short tinnie ride. 😉

            • +1

@Igaf: PNG is only 3.75km from Saibai Island in Qld! Strong cultural ties to PNG, so tinny is normal transport. Had some wonderful students from Saibai.

              • +1

@INFIDEL: PNG is at the Equator now? Damn that continental drift sure sped up during covid.

                • +1

@Igaf: Never wrote that or that TS Islands are 100k from PNG.
But relative to Southern States, Qld extends almost to the Equator

                  • +2

                    @INFIDEL:

Qld extends almost to the Equator (a short tinnie ride South of PNG)

All okay, it's Xmas Eve after all. Merry Xmas!!!

Will be interested to see what happens to this:

    Liquimoly 300ml RRP $18.99
    SCA Price $22.99 (+21%)

    • -3

To be fair, Autobarn list it as $24.99 and it's currently on their 25% off sale for $17.99

      • +4

Charging above RRP is fair because others do it?

        • +4

Please note this is our recommended price. Our resellers may charge different prices.

Yes. Perfectly fair. It's a recommended price, not a fixed price. If you find it cheaper elsewhere, buy it elsewhere. Then those charger higher prices will lower them.

          • @whitelie: Yes that's inherent in the very well known abbreviation, thanks for clarifying though.

Really can't be bothered but I might enquire after 8pm just to keep them honest. They're usually pretty good at keeping their word ime.

          • +2

@whitelie: But sca have advertised 25% off rrp which technically should be 25% off the price on liqui moly site as that is the true rrp.

Unless sca is using rrp to mean the price they usually sell it at in which case they can do what they want?

    • After all that I checked Dealbot's link and it says REGULAR Retail Price. He did say he was having a happy day. :-)

  • +13

Supercheap auto have been absolutely garbage with their sales since last year. Barely anything worth buying. Much better deals at Repco with RAC card.

    • +3

I was waiting for more than 25% off. Don't they usually do 40% off some stuff?

      • +4

I used to buy a lot of car care products, service items like filters. They used to be on sale all the time but this year Supercheap auto have gone really quite. Not sure whats happened. Now im just buying from Repco or Amazon.

        • +1

Yep, I used to stock up on the 40% off Bowdens sales but they're like dinosaurs lately

        • +2

Jacked up RRP just to have "sales" every week. There are only ever good deals at SCA on stuff that doesn't normally go on sale when there's a 25% off sitewide.

    • Last year included tyres.

  • +1

    Blackvue :(

A sinking ship with a bleak outlook.
Who thinks they will be around in another 2 years?

    • +6

      What are you smoking?

Group first quarter sales are up 20% year on year with SCA +23%

      • -1

Correct, after covid halt any stats can be created by its input. If you read the comments above you will see that American owned brands are still loved whilst making a profit.

        • +1

Covid was actually a boom for most retail with travelling closed down.

      • What are your thoughts on JBH?
Spectacular yield, but I’m unsure how sustainable it is… buy/sell/hold?

        • -1

Good dividend, much better future than hvn. But bought Adairs!

    • +1

A bcf near me jsut vanished a few weeks back. Gone and store gutted overnight.

  • +2

If you buy something then it goes on special don't they give you the credit anyway..

    • I'd like to know whether/how? I bought from a local SCA earlier today.

      • +2

I'm pretty sure once you scanned the club member card you'll get credit added. I went and done the same thing today.

      • I got mine added no issues..

    • +6

Yeah, but you have to use the credit within a month or you lose it.

      checkout powered by Tyroola

  • Goddammit I just came back from Supercheap and bought a bunch of stuff and saw this deal as soon as I got back

    • +1

Did you scan your membership card? If so you're covered for price drops.

  • Any recommendations for car jacks and a low profile jack?

Cars sub 1500kg.. also need to get some basic tools for maintenance on my own like brake stuff haha

    • +2

      https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/sca-sca-car-stands-screw…

Get in now because that price is ~40% off.

Some items already on special will be dearer with only 25% off

Btw - Kinchrome lp jack is quality but significantly more exe than the SCA etc.

      • Yeh it is. Had my Kincrome jack for 5 years, no regrets got it for below 300 back in the day. Absolute dream to use! Cars jacks up like a cloud.

  • Where can u get discount sca gc?

  • Would it apply to Special Order items?

  • Spewing - hanging out for a Blackvue sale 😢

    • +1

The DR900X Plus is low in stock so it is not likely they will be on sale any time soon.
Best option is aiming for a price match. I got them to price match the JB Wicked Wed price a couple of weeks ago. Repco also had 20% off the other day which was even better.

    • +1

They're on 25% off sale at Autobarn I believe;)

      • +1

Yep, $622. Great price and possibly the lowest price I've seen for this camera.

I would have saved an extra $90 if I waited for it to go on sale, however I wanted the camera installed before we leave for interstate trip in a few days.

  • It already started

    • OK working now
