  • *Must buy on finance.

Yep. Which almost guarantees you'll be in for not only a massive headache, but paying RRP.

  • Could be worth it if you pawned off the PS3 package?

Would it sell for $400-$500 on ebay?

    • Not unless you chanced upon a sucker!

LOL…my bad I'm not up to date with COnsole games…

        $300?

        • Around that figure you can get better bundle without move from Eb gmfor $387, so it's all down to the buyer really, but $300 for sure

  • well, they do price match, then there's the pay less for cash, so if the finance option doesn't have too many early termination clauses (which it probably does) then this might be a good option …

    • I was told by a staff member that they are ditching the 'less for cash' thing. Just FYI.

    • When Good Guys have a good price (sometimes…) they usually write 'no finance, no AMEX' on the price tag. Any discounts and price matches eat their profit margin and finance would destroy it. I have doubts they would offer a free PS3 and let you get all the other goodies (best price/canceled finance/etc) too.

  • yea ps3's are 280 new arent they

320G PS3 + one more controller + one game = $355 (cash price) is the current TGG bundle deal. My mate took it last Sunday.

    • $229 at target for 160gb

  • Really? did you really miss the on finance bit? which by the way has a monthly fee and possibly cant be paid out early.

    Buy ANY TV over $1500

I think you lost us right there. Few OzBargainers are dumb enough to buy something that'll be $500 cheaper in a year.

No one would ever buy any TV then.

This deal would only be worthwhile if you could get a good price and pay it off one minute before the interest free ends. However I'm not sure what the monthly fee on the cards would be, I'd imagine at least $10 per month, over 24 months that adds up.

Ultimately though, anything GE is daylight robbery. They prey upon people who can't afford "stuff" and can't afford to pay it back on time either. I know someone with the GO Mastercard who couldn't be convinced otherwise and I'm fairly sure the interest rate hovers around 30% plus the monthly fees and insurance.

Edit: Just confirmed on their site that "Expired Promotional Purchases" have an interest rate of 29.49%. Also $25 establishment fee, plus $5 per month account fee.

  • I don't think this is good, as requiring finance means some sucker will fall for it, pay full price, forget to pay the finance and pay penalties and 1000% interest…

  • This isn't a bad deal. $1500 isn't alot to pay for a TV (providing its quality with a good warranty) + a 320GB PS3 bundle.

All TV's go down in price eventually, no one is stupid enough to not believe that. But considering the monthly admin charge is only $5 and you pay $1500 between 12-18 months, then this is a good promo.

  • I think this is a good deal, aslong as you get a good deal on a TV. If you had the money upfront, could you not just go on finance and then pay it off straight away? You would get a ps3 for $25 for the establishment fee. Get the Samsung 55" 3D Led tv plus a ps3 for $1600, assuming they would price match the tv and the establishment fee is all you pay for finance.

  • Good deal for those that need to finance or those after a ps3.

TGG have to pay the finance company as well as having the customer pay for the set up, meaning you can no longer get bottom dollar for your tv.

    Say you miss out on ~$100 of savings + $25 establishment fee + $5month for 24 months ($120) total cost - $245.

But then if you miss paying a single cent your slugged with ~30% P.A. of $1500 = $1035 (that's yearly compound as opposed to the monthly that they likely do.)

In my opinion the risk of an incredibly expensive playstation does not outweigh the potential reward.
