wonder if jbl will match this deal. looking to get a tcl c835 75 inch

    • +2

Bought one from jb, waiting for arrival, looks like delivery date is mid February

      • i was going to get the sony x85k on special for about 2.2 but this tcl looks to be better then 80% of the more expensive tvs so ill give them a go. im hoping to pay 16-1800 for the tcl

        • +1

Lowest it's been so far is $1800 i believe

          • +1

@bitlined: I did the research and Tcl outweighs the known brands, in terms of build, warranty and price

          • @bitlined: jb just did it for $1900 i just need to find some 10-15% gift cards now and i think im in business

            • @bob98: are you saying you managed to negotiate $1900 for the TCL 75” C835 from JB Hifi?

              • +1

@foggy10: correct, but they oversold in qld and im unable to fulfill the order till they come into stock :(

tried to activate the offer, nothing happened

Coupled with this LG OLED deal this is looking tasty.

    • +1

Yeah lets hope the price doesn't magically go up at 23:59.59 tonight

  • +3

Thanks Op, LG CS “55 down to $1435

    • +1

Legit - so tempting. I hope JB do something (or eBay offer some kind of discount voucher for TGG tomorrow) so don't have to buy from old mate Gerry

    • +3

It's not a straight discount though… need to then buy $160 worth of other stuff from HN within a month. Could try selling the gift card for like 5-10% off I suppose.

  • Do we know what time this starts? Midnight tonight or at a certain time in the morning?

  • Harvey Norman does not have iphone 14 max pro and iphone 13 pro that I am hoping to buy tomorrow. Anyone knows of any good sales for those phones that might be coming up?

    • +3

Apple is on the exclusion list

    • With COVID lockdowns in China creating havoc with supply, you’re probably not going to see a deal until Apple can catch up.

  • Isn't there a law all gift card need to have a minimum 3 year expiring date?

    • Better than when I bought my TV with The Good Guys 5 years ago. Had 3 days to use the gift card and had to wait till the next day for the card to be activated.

    • +6

      No.

Gift cards are generally required to have a three year minimum expiry, but there are a list of exclusions. If you look at the relevant ACCC page, it says:

The 3-year rule does not apply to gift cards that are:

      • part of a temporary marketing promotion.

This deal is a temporary marketing promotion, so it is perfectly legal to only have a one month expiry on the gift cards in this deal.

  • bose 700 seems like a good deal, $375 - 37.5, and another $50 off if you have 28 degrees card

  • anyone know if you should expect the cards to be given/activated straight away after a purchase?

    • +1

The last time they ran this promotion my gift card was emailed straight away. Not sure about in store purchases.

    • +1

Bought online click and collect, no code yet bought an hour ago. Will update when I get it.

      • Have you received it yet? I'm hoping to use mine to order a case for the phone I just ordered.

  • Glad I held off on my tv purchase.. c'mon JB, match the he deal.

  • +4

Has Gerry handed back that money yet?

    • +4

      No, never.

      • -1

Well then, that blows the deal for me. And any other deal.

      • Do you mind explaining what we are talking about here. What did Gerry do?

        • Pocketed job keeper payments whilst profits were at all time highs

          • +2

@abadacus: This is really the government’s fault for designing a stimulus cheque without a claw back clause.

  • +3

This is making it really hard to resist the CS….I'm so tempted!

  • Do Harvey Norman pay back the difference? I bought the refrigerator for 2040 and now it is $1790.

    • +2

      You could try.

      • Thanks

      • Didn't work they can do for 7 days days not for a month

  • what if I pay by gift card, still get 10% gift card back?

    • I believe so, this happened to me during the last offer (partially used GCs).

    • On my online receipt it just said full amount paid. I used two HN gift cards to purchase. But I haven’t been emailed a gift card yet.

  • Is there a max limit?

  • +4

Never seen such long exclusion list and short valid period for a gift card. Hardly normal!

  • Saw this on TV too.
Does anyone know if it is it valid for online orders by delivery (which obviously would be delivered after the sale)?
What about click & collect orders?
What if you collect after the 26th?

  • If I buy something in store, will I get the 10% gift card to be used for the purchase, or will I get the gift card after the purchase?

    • After the purchase

    • +2

Just bought a TV and a steam mop, they just applied a 10% off overall by issuing a gift card during the same purchase (in-store).

      • Which store was that?
Sounds like a good way to do it.

  • Anyone who purchased online… did you already get your gift card? I did a click and collect and the receipt says 10% gift card but I didn’t get any code. It says I get the invoice at pickup time. I’m guessing this is to stop people redeeming and then cancelling a purchase.

    • Same I assume I get the code when it gets delivered

  • +1

I’m questioning the terms and conditions. It says offer is valid for December 26th only…. But then the fine print says offer ends December 31???

  • Haven't seen people bashing Harvey Norman lately, wonder what's going on

  • Just converted my shopback vouchers to HN after these deals https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/731288 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/729902 and the TCL $100 cash back promo.
paid the rest with Paypal and I get this email.

This is why there's not much love for Jerry

  • The Good Guys price matched HN today including HN vouchers - I got the Sony 85X90 for $3599.

  • +2

I bought online. Picked up. Got tax invoice. Did not get gift card

    • +3

      Edit. I have now received

      • How? Physical or by email? Still have not received mine.

  • Could you get a price match then the 10%?

  • I picked up a TV this morning from the Harvey Norman warehouse but didn't receive a tax invoice or the e-gift card.

    • Edit: both received now

  • Their online system collapsed today, you had to go into a que just to access their webpage. My order was placed on back order and then I was told it would take 7 working days to refund, but I ended up cancelling my order and went to a store that had stock instead. They rang it up and then applied the gift card to my second purchase. Easy. Their online system still sucks.

    • lucky you, I ordered for someone else then they did not accept the order, now I'm stuck with $1550 worth of HN gift card that I did not plan to have it.. obviously it takes time to refund the balance to gift cards… FFF!
