A lot cheaper than the last deal and the lowest price in almost 1 year. Great for those that need a basic charger or just a spare for AA or AAA batteries. Charger works out to be + $6 over buying just the batteries alone

    Thank you for mentioning this! Is there a recommended charger that changes each separately? I already have Eneloop Pro batteries and they never charge to 100% on the 10-year-old Eneloop charger that I have, they always come out 60% to 70% after like a day of charging.

    I thought these newer chargers would have resolved the issue.

          @sn809: The $10 IKEA charger (Stenkol) has difficulty detecting full charge when charging three or four batteries, so it's likely to overcharge your batteries, which damages them. But it sounds okay (from the specifications) when charging one or two AAA or AA batteries not exceeding 2000mAh capacity.

        So does the smart charger charge single? Because I get that it turns off after reaching full charge, but if it charges on pairs, how would that work if one battery is 50% and the other is at 10% and they're stacked together.

        If it charges solo, then it's the best choice and I'll buy it. Especially if it turns off at 100%

    This is a lot more basic. Batteries need to be charged in parallel (sets of 2) and each set shares a notification light.

    BQ-CC55 is a much better charger than the one in this deal. It's probably the best charger that doesn't have a numeric display of battery capacity.
