    yeah it's a bad deal

  • Any gift cards on 12m plan like last year?

    • There was a 400 for 12 months couple weeks ago

    • $300 back on $69/month for 12 months. Not a good deal atm. These deals are for new Telstra customers only. I'm sure someone will tell you if porting out and in works

      • Thanks, will hold off

Min cost for this deal $1656 over 24 months with $700 GC (or $956 after GC)

    or

    300GB a month = $89 a month = $2136 over 24 months with $1200 GC (or $936 after GC)

3x the data for $20 less over the life of the contract.

These deals are only really worth it for those who have a monthly mobile allowance reimbursement through their company.

  • I receive a mobile reimbursement with a $70 limit per month. So although the $89 does get more data and a larger gift card, this is effectively a free gift card just for locking in with Telstra. So for some people, this is actually a good deal

    • I got a $500 gift card, $59 a month and only 12 month contract a few years back (if I recall) - they discounted me $10 a month for the first 12 months, or it would've been $69 (I think?) but it was overall exceptional

      • Probably never gonna happen ever again from the looks of things mate. Probably a year since we last saw it?

it was $400 normally when they did 12 month plans and occasionally $500 so $700 for 24 months feels bad man

Good luck getting $10 port in credit
    Very hard to get now

    • I got it yesterday, was very easy on live chat

      • How?
Are you an existing account with existing service?

        • No, new account and new service. Never previously been with telstra. Just told the live chat I was with optus and moved over and that my friend did the same and got a $10 credit and they just applied it with no hesitation

        • You may have to try a few times with various chat members. Try in the evening with overseas customer service (not sure if it matters but i read somewhere here and worked)

  • Jb hifi telethon deals are dead now.

  • Such a stingy deal. For a 24 months deal, Vodafone has been doing $1000 of iPhone Since got know when, also for $69 24 months plan with 150G.

    • Can you link this $1000 off deal? Can't find it anywhere.

        This deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/725392

It goes on and off, currently is alive.

Note this is $1000 off, not a gift card. Also check Vodafone reception in your area before you sign up. Friend of mine live in Burwood; sign up to this deal and absolutely going nuts! She was lucky has a friend who own a phone shop and sold her phone off to a customer at 10% discount, She use the money to pay back the $1000 discount and penalty of the BYOD plan. I think she then sign up for one of these JB/GG deal with big gift card and use it to pay towards an iPhone.

Where I leave is exactly opposite, right in the middle of three Telstra tower non are within 2km while the tower at the back of my block has both Vodafone and Optus. That is the main reason I go for the Apple store deal. Order by wife NO TELSTRA as long as we live here.

        • Thank you for sharing that!
