      If you read the ebay description, there will be some images and descriptions of the types of tools it comes with. The attachments are the only difference.

        I was referring to the unit itself - on the eBay description it says "V10" and "V10 Cyclone Absolute Plus" on the respective listings…

          I think it's the same unit, the absolute range typically comes with an additional head for hardwood floors.

          There are no differences on the unit itself. The battery capacity is the same. The bin capacity is identical. The attachments are the only difference.

          Spotlessvacuum.co.uk says..

          As with all Dyson “V” stick vacuum series, the V10 Animal, V10 Absolute and V10 Total Clean are fundamentally the same vacuum. They come with different colour tubes, but the underlying technology is identical.

    I bought a V6 animal a couple of years ago and I can honestly it was overpriced and an enormous flop with reliability

    Have things changed since ??

      And the v8 is miles better than the V6. The V6 had short battery life and a useless emptying mechanism.

      Once the battery dies, if your Dyson is older than five years, you might as well throw it out, since Dyson change the battery form factors every few years and then stop making batteries for older models.

    Thanks bought to replace my parents old DC35. I have the Samsung Bespoke Jet myself and performs incredibly well so am interested to see how this Dyson compares.

        Just delivered. The Samsung is much better if you can get it around $700~ like this deal here https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/727470

        The only positives I found on the Dyson are:
        - better ergonomics, it feels lighter and easier to handle
        - most likely better long term support for parts etc

        Considering you can get the Samsung for around $100 more on a good deal this Dyson feels well overpriced in comparison even at $629

    This or Miele Hx1 for approx 450-550 usually available on Amazon, or HX2 for $849 on Amazon Boxing Day deals??

    Specs are better on both Miele ones.

        Just the higher airwatts, battery life and design (ability to move the bin up or down in Miele) are all superior to Dyson - so I guess there are questions :)

    Any real world experience on v10 absolute (have floorboards and carpet) vs v11 please? Seems the stronger motor in the v11 isn’t a game changer according to most reviews.

    Bank on these being useless in five years or so when the battery dies, you can't get a new battery from Dyson, and all the cheap aftermarket battery copies also die within a few months.

    I bought one Dyson in my life, never again.

      That is why you buy it when the promo gives you two batteries.
      I also have bought other vacuums in my life, and I can tell you Dyson is still ahead of the pack when it comes to cordless.

    Im tempted to get a ryobi 18v one as i have a few ryobi tools now.

    Pros:
    - reviews seem positive
    - dont need power near where i store the vacuum.
    - batteries are cheap and available
    - batteries on hand to extend run time
    - 6 year warranty
    - cheap

    Anyone here have experience with it?

    For those that bought the cyclone v10 from Dyson eBay, did you get a tax invoice and if so, was it emailed or did the tax invoice print out come together with the delivery? I got mine today but no tax invoice.
