    WTF??

    • +1

      Same here in SA.

      • Was able to purchase this for delivery to metropolitan SA.
Note Estimated delivery time frame though is
        Jan 2 - Feb 7!

        • I ordered 2 cans of aerosol deodorant last week to Perth Metro. I got a shipping notification that it was coming from QLD via Couriers Please with an ETA of 3rd March!

I know that there have been big postal delay issues with flooding and prior to that, the train accident/derailment but Amazon are wildly over-estimating their delivery times at the moment, and always delivering ahead of schedule. Even the Couriers Please tracking says they estimate delivery by 9th Jan. Lets see if they can actually do it :)

    • Same in Central QLD.

    • +13

Chances are any air travel is blocked in the system for items like this due to being flammable aerosols

      • Yeah I had the same error for aerosol antiperspirants

    • same in WA

I’ve been trying to buy cheap compressed air for quite a while for my business… and what you’re saying just isn’t true anymore.

FWIW I paid $9.95 for this from Amazon a few weeks ago, it’s not normally $14.95

      • It's normally $10 but in HN.

      • Have you tried the electric pump ones? eg https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0B4V5MR83/
I wonder about that vs this.

      • +1

Why not buy an air compressor. An electric air duster, refillable canisters?
Is the savings and convince so much better?

      • Just get an Xpower Airrow Pro electric duster and thats all youll need, absolutely awesome, s**ts all over a can of compressed air.

    • +1

      haven't seen 5 for $15 but agree cheaper on ebay, I recently got 2 x 600ml for around $10.
Particularly with the ebay plus $5 and $10 vouchers that keep coming.

  • +9

    This things blows.

    • To get the jobs done

  • +7

These really only do super quick bursts before the can and the surface you are blasting starts freezing lol.

It’s handy, tho I wish there was a electric duster that was strong enough and wasn’t very expensive.

    • +2

      Leaf blower with hose attachment.

    • +3

Yep. Mittens are highly advisable for comfort and safe use.

This product is for DIY's to fix their car air conditioning, I use it in my own car. Otherwise known as R152-a or Dichloroethane its a great drop in replacement for R134a, R12, and R1234yf systems without the ozone depletion potential of R134a and R12 or the exorbitant cost of R1234yf. Compatible with existing lubricants and about 5% more energy efficient than R134a. Can taps and manifold gauge sets can be acquired from ebay - never stress about the cost of fixing your old leaky A/C system again

Harvey Norman having it at the same price.

    https://www.harveynorman.com.au/laser-400ml-air-duster-spray…

Price match at officeworks for cheaper?

  • Not available for me

    • Now it is, prime one day

  • +7

For a minute I thought this sprays out lasers

  • +4

After using the Opolar Duster I no longer buy any Air Duster Spray
Its cost more but brings continuous air flow (air spray only give max 20s air per press)
and will not spray out liquid

    • This!… "will not spray out liquid"

    • +3

Been considering this for some times but realistically, what is the pressure difference? I'm guessing it can't compare to the canned version?

      • It doesn't achieve the same pressure as a can of compressed air. It does do a decent job of clearing most of the accumulated dust though (with the newer 77000 RPM model at least), ie. fine for basic cleaning, but perhaps not if trying to make it good as new for customers / resale.

    • but i feel the opolar is not strong enough? sometimes i still see some stubborn dust sticks and cant get rid just by spraying i need to use my finger to wipe it away.
(im talking motherboard cleaning - inside NAS to be exact)

      • Do….do you take strictly pneumatic showers?

        • What?

          • @CyberMurning: Do you take strictly air powered showers.

            • @[Deactivated]: no… i take normal shower just like other human, with water.

              • -1

@CyberMurning: Huh. Weird. Is that because just blasting stuff with air isn't really cleaning?

                • +3

@[Deactivated]: Removing dust is cleaning, that why people own vacuum cleaners.

You don't need to wash computer equipment, just remove the dust. This stops your components from overheating, which can cause your computer to shut down unexpectedly, and will improve the life of your PC.

                • -1

@[Deactivated]: ah got your joke finally.
i just wish the opolar is stronger so it can remove more dust, especially the sticky ones, and the ones near cpu fans for example

Here is the comparison for electric vs canned air

        https://youtu.be/JTOJyZEUgLg

In short, canned air does provide slighter better air flow but electric one is not far behind and does the job well

  • Is this decent for cleaning pc components?

    • +4

I bought while ago, it was coming out liquid not gas, i didn’t want to risk to blow my 3k rig for $6 can

      • +2

If you're holding the can vertically it will be fine, but if you tilt it at all or hold it upside down you'll blast your PC with cryogenic liquid. It also gets extremely cold after spraying for a 30 seconds or so. That being said, it's pretty effective if used correctly and for the price you could just buy 2 or 3 cans and change between them when one gets cold.

        • Can you use this as "magic spray" on a sports field to cool down banged fingers at cricket or similar?

    • -1

      Just use your breath 🫁

  • +1

Wow compressed air sure have gone up in price if $6.50 is cheap……

  • +2

Cruxtec from Umart @ $6 current sale. (Also Kmart Anko regular price $8).

  • Thanks OP bought 2

  • Does this have shelf life? Like losing pressure over time, or losing pressure after first use?

Don't have immediate need, but can imagine one would come in handy at times.

Usually would prefer vacuum. Bought a mini attachment kit: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07457CBCT and a Dyson adapter: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B088HGDQVX, they work well generally but takes time to setup and can't get to really tight areas.

    • +8

Some things you dont want to use a vacuum on. Electronics can be sensetive to esd that a vacuum cleaner might cause. This is where air dusters come in handy.

  • +2
    • Ah, just price matching.

  • +2

Why does the title say excludes QLD. I'm in Qld and I just purchased one.

    • Me too.

  • +2

You could just get Kmart Air Pump to blow dust.

    • Kmart also sells the can, and it's cheaper.

    • I was going to say this exactly.
Why waste money and carbon footprint just for air. A vaccum cleaner to vaccum all the dust in and an air blower to blow everything out! Easy peasy!

Mine is due for a dust blow in Jan.

  • Just purchased one in SA.

  • I would recommend this duster. It’s super effective and no residual liquid issue like cans

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kg-superstore-xpower-airrow-pro…

  • -1

It's cheaper to make your own

  • -1

$15 (standard price) for a can of something that is free "air" is pure predatory capitalism.

    • +2

      It's not air, it's 1,1-difluoroethane. Flammable stuff.
Also the pressure inside would be only about 5 bar (even lower when the can cools down during use).
Better to use an electric one like others have mentioned.

  • Thanks. Centrecom and other computer shops sell it for $20!
But yes, works super well inside the CPU fan.
    Just always hold upright

  • Air duster won't deliver to my address, but I ended up getting a few of the screen cleaners for work. Cheers.

  • too good a deal to miss.

  • OW stocks them so I would price match

  • Do you guys think this is powerful enough to use on car brakes to get rid of brake dust?

    • +1

Wash dust of with a hose. Safer for you.

  • +1

These are great for cleaning the one way valve on my Prosthetic leg. Nozzle is great for tight spaces.

  • +5

Please be aware of the environmental impact of these air dusters. The active ingredient for this product is 1,1-difluoroethane, which has a Global Warming Potential (GWP) of 124. One can (280 g) is equivalent to the combustion of 15 litres of petrol (~34.7 kg CO2e).

Please consider more environmentally friendly alternatives, such as electric air dusters, air compressors, etc., as these are adequate substitutes for most use cases.

    • I'll use this exclusively for my PC so it will probably take around 2 years or so or even longer to use the can. 15 litres of petrol spread over 2+ years is much less than my old 2 stroke mower & negligible. I'm a greenie in most ways (ob. not my old 30yr mower) but such a small issue needs some perspective. Props to you on the information, nevertheless :)

  • Metro Perth here, no problem with Amazon Prime shipping.
Thanks for the deals, got one of each! Great value. I'll compare the screen cleaner with my PanzerGlass which I bought through Ozbargain but haven't seen for a long time now.

  • Heh heh. Just paid $1.50 at Amazon. It priced at 6.5, and then applied a $5 discount, no idea why. Only worked on first can.
