150

If you can deal with their recent privacy issues this is a decent saving off the RRP.

  • Forever Power, Solar Style: Just 2 hours of direct sunlight each day is enough to continuously power SoloCam S40, so you never have to worry about changing the battery. And when the sun sets, the built-in battery keeps the juice flowing.
  • Light Up the Night: The ultra-bright 600 Lumens spotlight switches on as soon as motion is detected, shining a light on any unwanted guests, while the colour night vision picks out details in the darkness up to 8 meters away.
  • No Hidden Costs: SoloCam is a one-time purchase. There are no monthly fees or hidden costs. Everything is done on-device for complete security and transparency.
  • The Key is in the Detail: Capture every event that occurs around your home in ultra-clear 2K resolution.
  • Relevant Recordings: The built-in AI ensures SoloCam S40 only records when a person is present, rather than an animal.
  • Eufy Security 2K Spotlight Solar Standalone Camera is the perfect place to start securing your home. It’s completely standalone, and doesn’t require HomeBase. Just set it up and you’re good to go.

For suburbs around 2000, only artarmon showing stock.

For 3000, a few showing,- port melb, Hawthorn and west Footscray…

What didn't you like about it?

      • +2

        Spying from the company

        • +1

Not as bad as Arlo (Netgear) and their EOL just announced policy ending free features and forcing paid subscription to retain access to free recordings.

      • Solar ok
Alerts Not as good as other eufy cams i have. Doesnt seem to be as smart.
Dont care about the thumbnails online as im not that paranoid

  • Forever Power, Solar Style:

    Until the batter dies

  • Amazon currently has same price

    • Was about to say - this would be the way to go unless you didn’t have membership and happened to be close to one of these Bunnings with stock

  • Is this an older product.. the new eufy 3 also runs on solar and I thought that was their first solar unit

    • I think the 3 relies on the Homebase to connect to your network. This one is a standalone device that connects directly to your wifi

    • Yeah. This is an old product with 2k. The eufy3 4K. They also have issues like panel discolouration

  • How do you get the video from the camera?

    • +1

Eufy app on a phone or tablet

Local storage and not expendable. This and the 360 degree cam pro2, one has 4gb internal storage one has 8gb but I can't remember exactly which one has what…

A YouTube Channel called LifeHacker made videos about them, check it out if you want.

      • +1

        This one has the 8GB

    • +4

It's uploaded to Google for all to view

      • +2

Very convenient - they’ll be able to see if anyone is taking your stuff.

    • Connect it to your NVR via Wi-Fi

  • Can this be setup for 24×7 recording or not?

    • Yes

      • Any info how to set this up?

    • +1

If you mean continuous recording I don’t think so?
It doesn’t specifically mention it anywhere on manufacturers website unlike the eufy outdoor wired camera.

    • Not that I am aware of.
Even setting it to record All Motions, sensitivity to 7/High, extending recordings to 120s, and 5s trigger interval… doesn't give you 24/7.
And I can tell you, if you did, it'd be more like 24/2… before it dies.

Typical Chinese spyware. this company was recently caught out sending data out to their servers on supposed "Local only" devices. Buyer beware.

    • Nice perilism there buddy

  • I just installed the eufy floodlight cam. It’s standalone no need for
    Home base

If I buy this too, it Jsut adds as another device to my eufy security app right?

    • +1

      Yes.
I have these, and the doorbell… All run from one app.

  • "ultra-bright 600 Lumens"
    Misnomer?
    .

    I've got 2 of these.

I think they are great. Playback is very snappy (which is surprising for wifi) and they seem to have no issues capturing events. One of them is perpetually at 100% charge due to good sunlight, but the other is losing about 1% per day (keep in mind its summer right now) so will need the occasional charge as it's not in a great sun spot.

I don't see why I would want the homebase, aside from storage being off-device. Apparently these will support Homebase 3 in the future though through a software update(but it keeps getting pushed back).
