Not a watch expert so I will welcome watch nerds (not being rude) to point out which models are worth getting.

Example. Men's 28812 (not the watch in the deal picture, just picked at random) https://www.amazon.com.au/Invicta-Specialty-Stainless-Mechan…

I haven't checked the Amazon.com pricing and 3x camels price history for every watch (It involves altering web address, copy pasting into the US 3x camels website for every listing).
But for example the Men's 28812 is listed at $62USD on Amazon.com (down from $111.42USD).
https://www.amazon.com/Invicta-Specialty-Stainless-Mechanica…

After converting $62USD = $92 AUD. +10% Aussie Tax = $101, which is basically what you pay for it on Amazon AU.
So you are basically paying direct conversion and tax without shipping cost by ordering from Amazon AU.

They make lots of different styles so that link doesn't make sense. It's just hating on a brand for no reason.

The main ones that get posted on here are the automatic Pro-Divers because they are a classic design that come with a Seiko auto movement. They are basically like budget Seiko dive watches.

But if you're going to start spending around $120 then some of the watches on Aliexpress offer better value for money, like the Steeldive SD1970.

"automatic Pro-Divers because they are a classic design that come with a Seiko auto movement."

I didn't know that. Good to know I see now that's what makes them desirable. After a double take now I see you did write it in the post.

      • Any watch you recommend from these on sale today, mate?

        • Depends on your budget as I mentioned above and linked to the Pro-Diver if it's under $90.

With the exception of this one https://www.amazon.com.au/Invicta-Quartz-Stainless-Polyureth…

They (the rest) all look like pretty ordinary metal band watches to me.

Maybe a good budget option can be found for someone just to get one in the style they like for a special formal event (wedding etc).

    Invincta watches

    So knockoff of knockoffs.

    • Pretty much!

    • "Invincta watches"

Yeah sorry mate probably obvious now I am your regular dumb consumer who doesn't even know the brand name. I will leave the title as is lol.

      "So knockoff of knockoffs."

Here is a point though I think ozbargainers will like.
Absolute worst case scenario an entire Invicta watch costs only $90 to $100.

A few weeks ago if someone told me you could get an all stainless steel brand name watch for under $100 I wouldn't have believed you.

No need to apologise to anyone for giving up your own free time to post on here.
Besides RSmith has posted an Invicta Pro-Diver before.

      • New to watches then? That's ok. Invictas have dipped sub 100 bucks with some regularity over the years. Sure, this price is better than "normal" but to say that you wouldn't believe someone saying that a stainless watch could be had for under $100 is telling. There was a time when watch dorks would actually buy them for parts, when they got super cheap.

I am not going to dive into the hate for the Invicta brand though, as deserving as it may or may not be, except to say that for all that is good in this world don't buy a gold-tone one.

        • "New to watches then?"

Not exactly. I have gone through a couple digital Casio's made of resin for a couple good years. I am on my third model now, gave away the others and upgraded slowly.

"There was a time when watch dorks would actually buy them for parts, when they got super cheap."

          Interesting info.

You have really sparked my memory and I randomly just remembered actually having a segmented band analog watch given to me as a kid. It was silver so it could have been metal.
I cannot remember the branding or who gave it to me. Not sure if it was a proper branded watch or a $20 cheapie you pick up at a service station.
It might have been a gift from my grandfather (that's what they do right). Anyway so all I remember is I put it through hell. It never came off my wrist and doing what kids do I put it through everything and the metal started wearing off pretty quick. It was silver not chrome I remember that so maybe it was just metal paint not actually metal. I just have a memory of it having that outer bezel that spins and it looking absolutely miserable.

          • @harshbdmmaster718: Just browsed through watches on google images for a good hour lol.

I think this is what the case looked similar to https://www.adinawatches.com.au/wp-content/uploads/CM69-S1XB…
Without the fancy shaped band. I remember the outer spinning bezel being curved to the edge like in the photo and the watch face was quite small even on a kid/teen's wrist.
So the spinning bezel makes it kind of a variation of the dive watch design I think.

    • what were you expecting on a bargain website? a 25 thousand dollars worth rolex?

      • I'm pretty sure I saw a watch with a 5-digit price here on OzBargain. I can't find it, I wish OzBargain had a "sort by price" option.

        Here's a watch for $4000, marked down from $5000: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/710172

  • They should supply a hairy chest with this watch design.

  • Not awful but bezels are often too chunky for my wrist/taste.

  • Hey guys didn't know where to post this so I will just post it here.

Seriously impressive posts by PJC (aka Batman). What happened to these kinds of watch posts? People just stopped wearing watches? Now only Smart/GPS fitness watches are cool?
