[NSW] Free Tennis Tickets to The United Cup Final Day Session (Sun 8 Jan, 1pm at Sydney Olympic Park) @ Ticketmaster

680

I noticed from previous Ozbargain freebies over the last couple of days that there was a "?did=compoffer" appended to the normal Ticketmaster URL for the event. I tried this with the next three sessions (5pm 7/1, 1pm 8/1 and 5pm 8/1) and found that the 1pm session tomorrow has freebies allocated.

  • Thanks op! Got 2 tickets

  • Thank you! Managed to snag 3 tickets :)

  • So who’s playing? Or what country?

    • +1

      USA vs Italy or Greece

This freebie allocation is only for the first session though which will be 1x men's singles and 1x women's singles.
I have no idea who will actually play for each country in those first matches.

The reverse singles and the doubles game are in the 5pm session - and so far there are no freebie tickets for that.

  • Is there a way to get the 5pm session working as well?

    • +3

Not that I can see at the moment, but try appending the extra bit to the URL on a regular basis and see how you go. Or keep monitoring OzBargain to see if someone comes up with another way in.

    • Get in at 1 pm and don't exit the stadium until 5 ..there would definitely be some seats the extreme top section to accomodate

  • These go for $90 per ticket thanks OP got 4 tickets cheers

FYI it seems tickets include free travel on trains to the event:
    https://transportnsw.info/events/2022/12/united-cup

    • Thanks, not sure how you can do this on the metro stations as there are no staff around to let you through the gates

      • Metro is private like airport but also its technically not train.
Ticket only states Travel on trains included.

        • Seems north west metro is included, but not sure how it would actually work to get through the gates. Maybe they would be left open?

          • @orbz: Magic, thank you

          • +1

@orbz: You need to show your ticket to the station attendant and they will let you through the pram/wheelchair gate.

  • Thanks OP

  • Thanks OP.
By the way, what would be best vantage points to view the match typically? The top row seats of the midcourt area or the corner ones?

    • courtside

  • Thanks

Another vote of thanks to the OP! Made my holiday. Deal of the year so far, for sure.

We went yesterday and unfortunately the second match (single male) was cut short due to the Italian being injured. We were offered complimentary tickets to the evening session too! Thanks so much op, amazing experience.

    • Who offered tickets?

      • When we were about to leave there were some representative near the gates offering free tickets. So we managed to see the double male as well, which was the last match since USA won. We were very lucky indeed :)

        • I dont think there was 1 person in that whole court who didnt have a crush on Matteo

      • I'm guessing a fair few figured this out before the comment like me. Only upvote if you did

Our 2 x $140 Night Session tickets that I impulsively purchased straight after that kid retired hurt while sitting in the stadium were well worth it in my opinion.
