It is a misnomer to call this S3 "new". This is the 2011 sandy bridge model, and the mid-2012 ivy bridge with Intel HD4000 has been out in the US for a few weeks already.

Only $771 Aud plus shipping so expect similar prices here soon: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=73431&vpn=NX%2EM1FAA%2E002…

Cheap price, .. cheapest for any ultrabook

  • Not really a misnomer. These laptops are new in other words from the manufacturer (Acer) sealed in the box.
People might get the wrong idea and think it's used or refurbished.

maybe rephrase to "get a new"

  • LOL, was contemplating buying one… Thought i'd do a Whirlpool check to see what the company is like over all, stumbled across this; http://www.microsoft.com/australia/presspass/post/Laptop-Fac…

This machine does have genuine windows right? The price is now scaring me instead of attracting me :S

    • After further investigations, this model was released in July 2011.. It's over 1 year old :S pass.

Your account was created 36mins ago and this was the only deal you commented on?
        Pretty suspicious to me.

The Microsoft issue was in October last year. That matter has been resolved with Microsoft.
Keep in mind it was with our Windows XP PC's and never our laptops.
So the answer to your question is yes it does come with genuine Windows as it's direct from Acer in sealed in the box.

        • lol suspicious? yes im microsoft out to get you, wooooooh!

          As quoted from the Microsoft website;
*Always purchase from a reputable reseller. Do your homework and think about whether the reseller will give you after sales service if you have a problem.
*If purchasing from an online auction trading site, beware. Check the online seller’s price against the estimated retail value of the software. If the price for software seems too good to be true, it probably is.

          A) you're not reputable if you're selling dodgy windows
          B) the deal does seem too good to be true, so by Microsofts logic it probably is…

        • Suspicious as in Sock puppetry.

So I will no longer discuss this matter to your illegitmate sockpuppet account.

everything he has said seems to be factually valid. your attitude is terrible, rep.

I will say this again. Our Microsoft issue was ONLY with our custom built machines and NOT our laptops.
We have resolved this issue a year ago with Microsoft and now we no longer recycle COA labels.
