    Its used

    • I recently bought a new Dahua 28" 4K monitor for $225 and it had over 20 stuck pixels out of the box. This used Philips is probably a safer buy.

At this price point I would have gotten this instead too if it were available then but needed a new monitor ASAP.

      • +1

Can't you returned it under warranty?

    • The brand new ones are only $20 more https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/750276

      • Were. The deal lasted 5 minutes before selling out. I was able to buy the used version quite a while after deal was posted (obciously because it wasnt as good a deal)

  • +6

A $26.40 discount for buying used and only getting 1 year warranty instead of 4 years?

I feel it should be cheaper.

    • +2

i think it should be $264 cheaper at least

  • +1

I bought one. When looking around on fb marketplace for a equivalent 2nd hand one couldn't find much close.

WARNING: BNEACTTRADER never shipped my order from 9 December. Still waiting for a resolution.

    • +2

3 items purchased from them in the last month (2 PC's and 1 monitor) positive experience with them.

    • +2

My experience was also very positive, they shipped my monitor next day

    • +4

All of monitor orders were shipped out same or next business day. We have had a few issues with missing or delayed ones going to SA or WA due to the current freight situation. If you want to shoot me a PM with your order number I’d had happy to look into it.

      • NSW delivery in this case. DMed. Thanks for following up

            Is anyone interested in mine

            @b2dz: Looking positive:

Seller's message: "Hi, no problem, a replacement has been arranged to be sent out asap. thank you Australian Computer Traders"

      • Any chance for another deal on the Dell OptiPlex 7060? I missed out twice like an idiot.

    • Bought one of the new ones, delivered to WA in less than 4 days.

    • My experience has been positive. Including the communication to get the invoice

    • 2 optiplex refurbs I got a few years ago, positive experience

    • 3 items from 9 Dec shipped successfully to Brisbane via courier.
      5 day turn around

  • VA or IPS?

    • +1

      VA

    • +1
      • was thinking of getting one to use in a virtual pinball build but I think I'll go IPS instead

        • Fellow VPX fan here.

32” is a little too small for a cab playfield in my opinion. The viewing angles on this screen would be ok at a pinch bit some washout at the end when viewing from an angle in portrait orientation (on its back.)

Would make a very nice backglass screen though and the rotation feature is good for playing from desktop (vpx FFS tables look pretty cool in rotated mode)

          • @Gravy: I have a couple of old 24" monitors at home which I was going to pick from for a cab, my priorities aren't to make it look authetic, it's more just to build something functional (although once I get started there may be no stopping me). To start I was thinking of making something like a Sharpin but bigger. I spoke to a friend and he said when he made his using a 43" it was too big, but that might have just meant too big to keep in the house.

I'm also thinking of using android so I don't have to mess with a high power graphics card and all the complexities of the windows. I'd be fine for the short term playing what's available on Zen Pinball and Williams tables that can be had there. What's your take on 4k vs FHD? The Arcade 1ups are not a shining example but they only run on 24" and 720p so it would be a good jump from those just to have FHD

            • +1

@Jackson: I have this 4K screen but my laptop wont actually run it at 4K so presently 1080p.

My video card in my laptop has died so I'm just relying on the inbuilt cpu graphics which are not really enough to play pinball games at all at the moment (laptop is 10 years old).

My "cab" setup is currently just a 40" 1080p IPS TV as playfield and a 32 inch 1080p TV as backglass. Both sitting on an old school desk, all of which were freebies from side of road (the 32" was a freebie from facebook marketplace). I just use a wireless keyboard to play at present.

40-43" inch is about the sweet spot as it mimics the approx size of a real pinball and tricks you brain into thinking the physics are truer to real life.

Assume you are aware of VPX (Visual Pinball X) and Future Pinball engines?

              • @Gravy: Interesting about the physics matching the size, I didn't think of that. I am aware of them, but I didn't want to run a PC with dedicated graphics just for the odd pinball game. They do look at lot better than e.g. Zen on Android, but I figured between using a basic android box to run everything, and sticking to a more basic monitor setup, I would see how much mileage I could get out of it.

Some people also put me off running VPX/FP as they said there was lots of configuration to go through to get a decent experience.

                • +1

@Jackson: Regarding physics, if you play in rotated monitor view but without laying the screen on it's back this can break the illusion a bit as your brain expects the ball to fall faster.

VPX is really the way to go, everything is free and can be relatively straightforward to get started…. but does have a lot of addons that start to get a bit confusing. There are well over a thousand tables, practically every pinball table has been recreated at some level, quality varies.

If you set up a table near your day to day PC you can use it as dual purpose and just swap some cables out when you need to, that's what I do.(or could install a cable switch I guess).

There's a front end installer called Baller installer which will get you up and running with all the bells and whistles. https://www.nailbuster.com/wikipinup/doku.php?id=baller_inst…

Or for a more simplistic install you can try "All in one" installer https://www.vpforums.org/index.php?app=downloads&showfile=11…

Tables and backglass files at www.vpforums.org and vpuniverse.com

For more modern pinball recreations, you need the ROM files for mimicing the scoring and lighting/sound etc. www.ipdb.org (you need to get the pinmame related ROM for each table, it a zip file and should remain zipped and copied to your pinmame/roms folder inside the Visual Pinball folder. Tables and backglass files go into the Tables folder.

                  • @Gravy: What are the minimum specs for a PC? Would you be able to run all this off a high end PC from 5 years ago say? With a half decent graphics card?

                    • +1

@Jackson: Mine was running off a 2012 laptop with 2012 third generation i7 and GT 650m 2GB discrete GPU. It could do 60fps 1080p with most VPX tables after dropping down some graphics settings usually.

If you have a GTX 1080 or something then yeah no worries, even for 4K I think. Some guys like to run high refresh screens which takes some more grunt. Gameplay is obviously much smoother at say 120hz, but I find 60hz totally fine.

A modern card like an RTX 3060 will do 4K full screen cabinet mode no worries.

There is also a VR fork of VPX which I understand is pretty amazing although Ive never tried it as my PC isnt up to it (I have a Quest 2 so will update my PC at some stage to play). Here's a vr sample https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9vjEzuH6IM

and another showing VR front end and lots more tables https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W51d4V0xLwY

I also like to play mine in anaglyph 3D mode using cheap 3D glasses. There's a shader called Superdepth3D that works with Reshade to add 3D depth to the tables.

                      • +1

@Gravy: Wow, didn't realise you could run in anaglyph 3d. Hearing your specs I may actually have a PC capable of running a cabinet in good if not full details if I stick to 1080p. I think I am going to have to get it out to bench test. Currently I have a 24 and a 48 inch TV so I will test in 24 and then see if I can get hold of something in between potentially. Thanks for the info, have bookmarked

                        • +1

@Jackson: No worries, message me if you want any help. What video card is in the PC you are looking to use?

Superdepth 3D for Reshade allows a lot of games to run in anaglyph 3D and supports a few different coloured lens combinations, it also has the facility to do interlaced polarised 3D so if you can get your hands on one of those 42" LG 3D TVs from a few years ago I hear they work quite well for 3D pinball and the upside is almost no colour loss issues.

Worry about the 3D stuff down the track as it adds complexity, but some links at www.reshade.me and https://reshade.me/depth3d

                          • @Gravy: Unsure, it was given to me by someone who went all in on Macs, it's was quite decent for its time but it's at least 5 years old, some sort of I5, 16gb ram and a dedicated 3d card, but it would have been a quite decent one for it's time. Not top end but at least half way probably. Will have to dig it out to check

                            • +1

@Jackson: I feel like I've just witnessed the germination of a long and beautiful friendship :)

                              • @andresampras: Pinball…. bringing oddballs together since 1930 ;)

  • bought a micro pc from them used it since 2017 till last year

  • Does this have built in speakers?

    • Yes

      • Thanks!

    • Yes I got one and it’s really loud, also the screen can rotate

    • yeah

    • It has

  • OOS
There were 2 left whilst I was finalising my cart, by the time I clicked to pay they were gone :(

    • +2

there are plenty of other options mate….plenty of fish in the sea

      • +2

Each fish is unique. They are living being. Not one is equal to the others.

  • I'm going to hook up Amazon tv stick to this. Does anyone know if the volume control on the monitor be controlled by the tv stick?

    • It's sold out, but nevermind there are always other options.

  • How about another 7060 micro deal like the last OP?

  • I am looking for 32 inxh gaming monitor for primary school student. Any options available in store?

  • +1

I got one of these. Love it! It surprised all my expectations and I already have a Xiaomi 34". The ratio is great and so is the clarity and colours. Stoked with my purchase.

  • Here to say thanks to Bnact. Got two of these sent to holiday place and was able to set up WFH for a second week near the beach. Stoked for the price, packing and delivery. Left behind as a tv with a fire stick in the back.

Every delivery has been fine from these guys. Packed as hoped and cables and wifi antennas included at the advertised levels or above (monitor had a DP and HDMI cable).

  • I purchased a new one in the last deal. Been using it a week, so far so good. Was pleasantly surprised with all the cables in the box as my new HP monitor had nothing.

  • Available again (thanks noodlefan)

    • Thanks quick response, I missed out this last time, finally today spot it.

    • OOS already nooooo

  • I was dreading I missed out on this and the new version of it the other night. If I hadn't picked up the alienware monitar that came yesterday I would of jumped on this fast. Thanks OP and Noodlefan for noticing its back in stock. I'm sure others will make good use of these remaining stock.

  • Is this VA or IPS? When I look at the reviews on YouTube it seems to be IPS?

  • is there a way to get notifications when these come back in stock?

    • Probably use something like visual ping on the page

  • received mine today,no dead pixels, looks good. anyone have best settings for brightness/contrast etc?
although capped at 30hz i think that is due to laptop powering it currently

    • +1

Make sure you change the hdmi setting to 2.0 in the screen settings to enable 60hz at 4K.

If it’s still not able to reach 60 then it may be a limitation of your laptop or cable.

      • +1

ahh, thank you! it was the monitor setting only set at 1.4, not 2.0!
now i can get 60hz. would not have found that one without you so many thanks!

  • Did anyone get a usb cable with the monitor?

    • +1

      yeah for the USB hub

      • mine didn't come with the usb cable :(, came with 2 power cables and a DP cable
