These are hours of entertainment for kids to play “kayak” on the living room floor

    • +11

      How are the walls?

      • +28

        Dolly good.

        • +13

          Solid dad outta ten there!

  • +1

It is a perfect tool to kick off the forum trolls lol :)

  • +1

    Whats the normal price?

    • +4

eBay stores seem to settle around $39. Although, this item has been as low as $10 before, I wouldn't count on it happening again as that was 7 years ago.

    • +1

I thought $16 was. Bought one earlier this year for that much

      • +14

its been $16 for a year. standard price.

        • +2

Downvoting as you are correct, this is just the standard price.

  • What do people use these for other than as an indoor go cart? No handle, smallish wheels, doesn't tilt, off the ground. Hmmm?

    • +1

Plus it's very small area imo; my tubs are too big for it.

Only thing I can think of is moving pot plants around.

    • +8

I was building a box about this size that was heavy but I wanted to be rollable. This was basically the same price as 4xcastors and already had the base, so I just bought this instead and built the walls and lid. worked out well.

      • +2

        Yeah. Perfect wheeled storage boxes.

    • +2

      Moving heavy gardening pots

      • +1

There are better rollersade for pots that won't be damaged by water spillage. Imo.

        • Hey Bargain, are there any you reccommend? Irrespective of price? Been looking at all Bunnings options for a while and yet to pull trigger

          • +1

@Edamamme: I had bunnings ones under some mega heavy pots, they worked well, no issues rolling them around.

    • +2

You can move furniture around the house or driveway. Basically from trailer to house . Use 2 for larger stuff.

    • Im going to transform one into a migwelders trolly by adding handles and possibly another level

  • +3

Bought one of these early last year and it turned out to be really handy when I injured my back. Was scooting stuff all over the place. Not quiet but the wheels are good and it moves smoothly and straight

  • +1

I wonder if one can hack it into a trolley for the Big Boi Blower from this deal.

    • Race ya!!

    • …you mean by screwing the two together? :\

      • +2

Yes. Do the captain planet let their powers combine.

    • Im going to use one for a migwelders trolley so i dont see why you cant use it for that if youve got a little imagination

  • +3

Better spend a bit more for other model, this one doesn't go straight, it is hard to control. I bought one for moving a vented cloth dryer, terrible experience.

    • Dont you want a trolley as its easier on steps

  • +1

might be good as a base for a heavy PC tower

    • +2

Mod the movers dolly as the pc tower.

      • +3

Just mount the mobo straight on the wooden base? Test bench on the go

    • This has been my arrangement for the last year, helps elevate from carpetted floor, and paired with a standup desk (also on wheels).

  • +6

These are a must have when moving house. Get two of them and you can literally move anything. A life saver for awkward, heavy couches.

    • -8

Literally? Ok, move my interest rate lower please.

  • +2

I have 2 and during house reno came in really handy. I was able to move very long and heavy beams and trusses around by myself that were too awkward and heavy to lift.

  • wow it's really small

    • Buy 2 or 4 then fasten them together.

    • -1

      That's what she said.

  • Same as Upcoming Aldi Catalogue starting 21 Jan….

  • I keep my computer case in the corner of the table and everytime I have to pull that 23KG sucker, I need to curve my back and lift it which is not good. This seems ideal, but is there anything cheaper I can buy. Dont really need 200 kilo strength.

    • I have two square pot plant stands on wheels held together with zip ties that does the trick. They were $1 or $2 reduced at Bunnings. Maybe you can find something similar. Good because metal, black, raised, and plenty of ventilation. High enough to lift off the carpet after I added an off cut of a Pine Sleeper I used in the garden. Seems like you don’t need to raise yours though :).

      • Thats a very good idea if you can get them at sale! Thanks.

        • They had something like 30kg weight bearing each :). So work well

          • @Catsfan070911: I think in the current situation i might end up buying this 16$ dolly considering a medium wooden chopping board costs 10$ at coles. lol.

  • +4

Pretty sure this is the regular price. I have this - it's decent, but don't leave it in a place that will get it wet - the board will warp and bend

  • +1

These are worth having but have limitations. I tilted a heavy load and put this under one side to then lift the other side up, and because the pressure wasn't straight down, it snapped the castors off. These are good for what they are, though

    • +1

Yes the castors break easily and cannot be repaired.

      • +1

Bunnings sell wheels too, they are easy to replace, I replaced mine with locking wheels. Remove the black covering to expose the assembly, pretty simple.

        • The problem is that the mdf base that the wheels are screwed into breaks and cannot be repaired. If you go over a bump with a heavy load there is no way the recessed mount for the wheel can support the jolt. Have thrown away several of these in the past and would not recommend for moving heavy loads. Potentially dangerous

  • +2

So it's not on sale, it's just a regular price? Why post?

    • +1

Correct. Standard price. Bought a couple of these a few months ago for moving heavy stacked cargo cases around the garage.

  • +1

I actually use this to lift my PC off the floor. With modern PC cases these days, the PSU is situated at the bottom and when you put the PC on the floor, it's base will start to attract all sort of dust and particles. Using this dolly as a stand solves this problem. Also, this dolly is about the right size for a standard ATX case.

  • +2

$14.99 at Aldi. Not sure of size but it has a higher load bearing.

    • +1

When does this catalogue sale start ??

  • +2

Anyone notice the tyres of these leaving white streaks on floorboards?

  • +1

    Normal price.

  • +1

    Yep, no deal, normal price.

    • I don't have to rush to get these, does aldi have a cheaper version? May be get one when Bunnings try to beat aldi price.

  • I bought one from Aldi few years ago for shits n giggles, havent found real need for it just yet but I know it'll come in handy some day.

  • +2

They were previously $12 before the price hike

  • The smaller ones used to be $6.50
    Normal price item :(

  • +1

I bought these for about $12 each yonks ago (it was either these or an identical product maybe with different branding) - they were a pallet promo item, then they started stocking them as a regular item with an increased price.

OK for moving things, but useless for plants or anything outside where they may get wet being MDF… and don't expect them to go over bumps or anything easily either.

  • Hi Op, do you know if there are any platform trolleys for sale? Thank you

  • I doubt it would cost more than half of that price to DIY one, even lower with spare parts

    • +3

I mean, you can slap these castors on an mdf panel, and arguably end up with a slightly bigger (but thinner) and better (locking wheels) option for ~$20.

But I can't see you saving money DIYing unless you put some really crappy castors on.

      • I didn't do the research online but obviously not talking about getting parts from bunnings at their retail prices. Another thing is I don't think too many ppl buying this will actually need to get near that 200KG limit so "crappier" castors will do.

        • Well, sure, if you've got a bit of wood or some castors lying around already then you can make it cheaper, and it's an easy job.
But even cheap crappy castors are probably going to set you back about $3 each. So you're already up to $12 there without the base.

          • @NigelTufnel:

            got a bit of wood

The men in the website did a collective chuckle.

  • pretty sure this is just the normal price, I have one to keep my pc off the ground

  • I'm looking for something like this and at this price point o help move a trampoline by myself. Any suggestions for wheels on grass. I'm not paying $89….

  • I've bought a few of these before - didn't have any problems.

However one observation is these have never been on the shelf at 3 different stores I've purchased them from - only the more expensive ones on the shelf - had to ask someone to locate them for me each time showing in stock with the I/N item number on the website - and they eventually find a box on top of the shelves….

  • +2

Sorry I am late to the party but I have 2 of these and used them.

They are useful for moving long heavy items, e.g. a mattress or a bookshelf etc. The weight keeps it securely on top and you just hold onto the item itself as you roll along.
I recommend you get 2 for this reason. I actually like the trolly type wheels they allow you to manouvre (sorry I tried like 5 times couldn't get spelling right) more freely when navigating a narrow corridor/corner etc.
Although some comments are saying this is regular price (I don't remember how much I paid).

Anyway the thing I wanted to mention is DONT GET THESE WET. They are made from something similar to particle board material without being sealed. So I got them slightly wet in some short sunny down pour one day, the gentle rain stopped quickly and the sun came out straight after so I left them in the sun to dry all day.
They don't dry properly and they have these dark stained marks on them now looks like water is trapped in there and it will eventually grow mould or something and the boards might start falling apart quicker.

They still technically work, but I am kind of worried next time I put a heavy bookshelf on one that it will break like bread.

    • Price aside, these are a must-have for anyone who doesn't have anyone to help move things around your house. I have had 2 of these for about 5 years, and they have saved my back and temper many times. While I have had very heavy furniture on them, I doubt I have had 200kgs on them so I can't comment on their SWL.

      • Yup with large items just lift one side onto one, then lift the other side onto the other.

  • I need to move a heavy washer machine around the apartment but afraid to damage the floor. Is this suitable or should get a trolley?

    • +1

I would personally use a trolley that is meant for moving white goods.
