This is only the Expansion pack for the mini triangles. You will need a starter kit (not on sale) or existing kit to plug this into.

These are usually quite expensive for what they are (and probably still) but it's the cheapest at the moment.

  I've been looking at the yeelight triangles, nanoleaf canvas or triangles and i guess now the twinkly squares, the idea of pixel art on the wall is very tempting

      yeah my brain kind of exploded with the thought of what would be possible with those, pretty lights and patterns is one thing, but pixel art of literally whatever you want is amazing - especially going into my gaming room, now to wait for a decent discount! haha

Cool! I'm about to set out on my home assistant journey - will these talk to the sonoff zigbee 3.0 controller, or do I need to get a separate hub?

  I don't believe nanoleaf need a hub (similar to lifx), they just run via wifi
