    Fatty Biltong $69.99

    Only for fatties ?

    • Only you call yourself as fatties

  • +1

Higher in fat, less protein I spose hence the discount.

1.3kgs for $70 sounds like a pretty decent price.

    • So are you ordering?

      • I am considering it!

  • +1

    Does not ship to WA.

    • -1

You can ship it to my place 😁

      • +1

Easy, I just need full name, address and phone number.
What’s your first car and mother”s maiden name btw?

        • +1

          Name HolyCrap
          Address around in the city
          Phone number 0400000000

Mother maiden name : whistler mother
          First car toyota

          • +1

@HolyCr4p: Once upon a time 0400 000 000 used to be a real number. Unsure if it still is, back in my customer support days at their telco they made a lot of complaints about IT software spamming them with notifications of servers being down etc.. Seems it was the default number in a software package LOL

    • yeah have bought from this place before and had it shipped, but no longer an option apparently.

      • Hi Rakeem

We are currently holding off shipping to Perth at the moment due to the delays over the Christmas and New Year period.

We want to make sure that the product arrives as fresh as can be.

Keep an eye out as this is only short term and we will be posting to the WA again soon

        Apologies for the inconvenience.

Our biltong contains no sugar, is significantly lower in sodium, and we have lean options (wet or dry flavours).

    In the ingredients:

    Beef Biltong Safari Ingredient Listing:
    Beef (90%), salt, maize, flavour enhancer (621, 631, 627), sugar, preservative (202, 224)

Beef Biltong Peri Peri Ingredient Listing:
    Beef (90%), salt, maize, flavour enhancer (621, 631, 627), sugar, preservative (202, 224)

Beef Biltong Fatty (Wet) Ingredient Listing:
Beef (91%), vinegar, soy sauce (wheat), salt, sugar, spices, preservative (250)

    Beef Biltong Rugstring Ingredient Listing:
Beef (90%), salt, vinegar, soy sauce, sugar, spices, preservative (250)

    Misleading much ???

and then they claim their biltong is better than jerky because jerky contains preservatives.

most beef jerky is packed with preservatives and contains sugars from the sauces used to marinate the meat. This is why beef jerky can last a lot longer than biltong.

    Guess what….

I'm offering kudos for the entrepreneurialism.
This 'small business' (as described on website), is owned and operated by a 'school kid' (?).
He is pictured there. Image is more like an 8th year Uni Student.
Must be raking in the big bucks, because the site has scrolling live sales notifications, and they are endless and from everywhere!
    Well done 'young fella'…🙄

    • -1

Thanks. Will pass on the Blaize :)

Yep just graduated high school at the end of last year. I'm sure he'll appreciate being told he looks older.

      • I'm sorry that you must have misread or misinterpreted the gist of my comments.
It was somewhat 'tongue in cheek'.
Firstly, there is very little to believe about the hype behind this 'operation' .
For example, if the annoying scrolling 'live' sales notifications on your website, are a true indicator of actual sales, then this little kid must be paying someone else to do his homework?
Also, your claims as to the running costs and overheads required to run this business are bordering on the side of 'questionable' indeed.
The picture on the website showing young Blaize doing his thing, suggests quite a large industrial food preparation facility with costly fitout, plant and operating costs?
OP, your marketing hype on the website is bordering on patronising boring nonsense.
Is 'biltong' and 'Blaize' the true product behind this business venture?

        • +1

          Or just outsource it.

          • +2

@m9: Looks like they did! In the photo it has midfield meat international pty ltd on the box. So they simply are unpacking, cutting and repacking.

  • +5

Dug a bit deeper and found this. good on him I guess but really this marketing specialist could tone down the text formatting a bit.

    https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6960733…

    • +5

I'm a bit confused, I may be overthinking it a bit

According to earlier posts from OP, Blaize hand-makes and prepares each batch himself…

According to this Linkedin post, Helena classifies the business as passive income? Maybe for herself as a business partner and not for Blaize?

      • +3

Good point, definitely contradictory to not hold stock whilst preparing each batch himself. Could be wrong but either way good on him for hustling but it's a hard pass for me.

        • +2

@OP can you answer this one

          • +1

            @rk8: @HelenaHurst

          • -1

            @rk8: Sure thing. Joint Ventures

            • +1

@HelenaHurst: @HelenaHurst that didn't answer the question at all.
Is it passive income and outsourced?
              Or is it all handmade?
              Where exactly is it made?

      • +3

Yeah, she says it's passive yet he carves the Biltong daily for orders…

I guess it's ok to lie if you are a small start up, until you get bigger… like Gamers Nexus and all those tech channels that would buy an item and return it in the early days to save $$$. …pretending it's been unused. Scammers everywhere…

  • -5

Hate Biltong, wish there was LESS.

  • +1

Kudos to a bunch of school kids for starting a business (https://www.linkedin.com/feed/update/urn:li:activity:6960369…).

However, before ordering, check to make sure you're okay with the ingredients.

Compared to Biltong.com.au which is more established and reputable (I'm not affiliated to them, just a consumer who's bought from them a few times):

These ones contain less sodium, but also less protein, slightly more sugar (the standard ones) and worst of all, they contain preservatives.

  • Ordered some from one of the last deals, this biltong is amazing, sadly no longer shipping to WA though.

    • Thanks for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed the biltong

  • Is there any deal going on regular (not fatty)? I would love to buy and try, but was keen on something less fatty!

    • Hi Paulg

There isn't another deal running at the moment.

But if you prefer to order a different flavour you can get $10 off your first order. Use Code LEKKER10 at checkout.

      Hope that helps

Negging for misleading statements outlined above by jv (no sugar). I looked at the website to confirm this was true as well.

    • +3

OP gonna have to answer a few questions when they check back in the morning

    • -2

      Thanks for the pickup.

Each product has an ingredient list so customers can make an informed decision on what suits their dietary needs.

      https://www.lekkerekse.com.au/collections/dry-wors

      all the best

      • +5

… that did nothing to address the points outlined lol

  • +2

So the kid/founder is the son of the owner of ideas into business, which Op is also an employee.
Also the company is owned by the father's company.

The question is, is this a legit business and the dad is using it to sell his books and consulting?
Or is it exactly like they said, a front for a drop shipping company, and if so how can they ensure all their claims of freshness and quality are actually met?
Looks like a good deal but a bit too fishy for me.
Also suss that Op has been included in their review page. Hardly an unbiased opinion!

And yes, what is with the formatting? It hurts just reading it.

  • Hi, Yes Blaize started his own business with the help of his dad.

If you knew someone with experience and knowledge in setting up and running something you've never done before wouldn't you ask for advice and help?

It's not drop shipping. Yes, everything is cut and packed fresh by Blaize.

And yes I have experience in marketing and have offered to help a young kid out. Shock horror I'm also a customer who consumes this delicious biltong.

If it's not for you then it's not for you. All good

  • Hi Guys

If you like Biltong give it a go. If you don't like it that's all good.

Again it's a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you don't like it just let us know and we'll fix it.

The ingredients are listed for each product so you are able to make an informed decision.

    All the best

    • +1

OP, what exactly do you mean by "we'll fix it" ?

    • +4

Still not going to address jv’s concerns with misleading advertising?

      • +3

Sounds like the kind of business you can't trust…
