(Random orbital sander now sold out)

Awesome cordless random orbital sander, one of the best on the market for a ridiculous price. This is a repeat of a very short term deal I found on 11/12/22 which expired before I could post so stock levels are an unknown, but can confirm it's the proper thing, been using it regularly since buying. Goes for ~$224 at most shops at time of posting.

Further to the random orbital sander, I've just found a HEAP more Milwaukee tools on AmazonAU at frankly silly prices for what they normal sell for. Here's a full list below;

As mentioned by OZKap, here is Milwaukee's warranty terms;

The Milwaukee Manufacturer's product Warranty:
is not valid for any products purchased on Amazon, eBay and any other non-authorised websites;
is only applicable to products purchased from Authorised Milwaukee Retailers in Australia or New Zealand; and
is in addition to your consumer guarantee rights under the Australian Consumer Law or the New Zealand Consumer Laws, as applicable.

However worth noting you are still covered by AmazonAU warranty support if you have any issues - or so I would assume.

    What's the warranty like?

    EDit: ah

    The Milwaukee Manufacturer's product Warranty:

    • is not valid for any products purchased on Amazon, eBay and any other non-authorised websites;

    • Oh…

    • +2

i would say amazon will cover it? it says 3 years

      • +2

I wonder for low long though? Surely not for the full 5 years. I should learn to read. 3 years is pretty good.

I've placed an order anyway, I've had good experiences with Milwaukee tools, and this one does pretty well in Project Farm's test for material removal.

      • No

        • They absolutely will, as required by Australian Consumer Law.

    • +2

      That seems illegal?

      • I think it's a similar situation to grey imports - the manufacturer absolves responsibility, but the retailer still has to remedy any faults with whatever O/S channel they got the stock from

    • +1

For manufacurers warranty, yes. Here in Aus, RMA is very rare, not required by law and is solely at the manufacturers discretion. Instead, we place the onus on the supplier (Amazon in this case). And yes, Amazon will need to honour their advertised warranty.

  • Thanks OP.
At that price i couldn't say no.
Now i can ditch an ozito or ryobi most likely the ozito. The ryobi actuality has some go.

  • +1

    Says 3 left in stock

  • Coming out OOS when adding to cart

  • Where is the link for the vacuum..?

    • +1

Mods have been tidying this up and merging with my new post, link just added to main post, also here

  • The Fuel Framing Nailer is a steal at $600 for the kit. It's powerful but very heavy.

    • Dam nailer OOS

    • Yeah I'd have got one at that price

      • If anyone bought one and change of mind hmu

        • I don’t live metro so meet ups would’ve been impossible.
          I’ve just cancelled the nailer
          It’s back in stock

  • +1

That chainsaw is a bargain, never goes below $618 at local shops.

    • yea crazy been looking for a bigger saw for a while and cant refuse that (not that i need it right now…)

  • Framing nailer and samder seem to be gone already…

  • Cheers op.
Along with the sander i now have the vac and another m12 4ah battery.
And to think i was steering away from Milwaukee as their tools was getting too expensive. I like my yellow and teal stuff but red will always win when I can find it at a decent price. .

  • Thanks OP, purchased the wet & dry vac. I’ve been wanting to upgrade my Ozito 18V vac for a while.

  • Doh, just bought the vacuum on ebay yesterday for ~$190

  • No sander or rotary available - that did not take long.

    Bought chainsaw.

  • Skin only. So probably not a deal for Makita, Dewalt, etc. crowds.

About warranty, since these are sold and shipped by Amazon, they will have to deal with it right? And chances are it will be a full refund in case of non-user issues.

  • Ok

  • Wow - this is a great find. Nice ozbargaining OP!

  • Rotary tool currently unavailable.

  • +1

11.10pm and here i am spending 350 on a chainsaw when i have absolutely no need for one… dont even a have an 18v milwaukee battery. Classic ozb

    • That's really um.. Dumb man

  • +1

Noice, chainsaw deal is dope! I always regretted not getting it back in the day when it was ~$500 with a 12ah battery, I’d conceded ever being able to buy it at a decent price ever again.

For anybody that missed the orbital sander, don’t fret too much, it’s bloody average. The dust catcher is seriously pathetic, the ergonomics are weird and it chews batteries. They really need to bring out a fuel version. There’s way better alternatives out there.

    • Do I cancel?

      • +1

It’s worth keeping for $120. I bought it for full price and I probably regret it a bit. It’s my least favourite Milwaukee tool.

        • +1

Thanks for the real review that's what we need

      • +1

Uses batteries up relatively quick, but i've thrashed my sander and it goes well. Sanded my 50sqm deck last season. Super handy for my smaller wood work projects, which is it's main usage. Could never go corded again.

  • Damn missed out on the vacuum :( Had it in my cart too

  • missed everything i actually needed anyone selling there wet dry vac? hahahah

    • Need? Addict

      • apprentice carpenter who does a lot of bathroom renos. i think need is a slight understatement i MUST HAVE IT

        • Better to get the fuel version. That one burns battery. I don’t get too long with a 5ah

  • +1

Nice.. Wish you could get Makita 18V skins on deals like that

    • So do I. I swapped from Milwaukee to Makita a few years back and gets a bit annoying when you see deals like this, lol.

      • Can I ask why? Makita is a great brand never see there shit break but milwuakke as such a huge line I would've stayed especially with some of their quality and ridiculous power of some devices. I ended up going dewalt cause I couldn't afford either makita or Milwaukee and am happy as dewalt have started to increase their automotive lines and garden lines etc

        • No problem. There were a number of factors in the decision but will try to keep it brief.

Initially I bought into Milwaukee in a big way about 12 years ago. Back then they were price competetive with none of today's fixed retail pricing. Prices since then have skyrocketed.

About 6 years I saw a couple of Makita tools that I liked better than the Milwaukee equivalent, so I bought them. Then I got very lucky. I managed to buy a heap of Makita skins ex display for around 30 cents in the dollar. By that time Milwaukee prices had gone up so much that I managed to sell off all my Milwaukee stuff for what I initially bought it for. Some stuff I even made a profit from.

So it was a bit by choice and a bit by luck. I managed to swap brands and pocket some cash so it was pretty easy.

Both good brands, both make great tools. Back when I made the change, Makita was generally lower priced than Milwaukee. These days the price gap between them has closed considerably with Makita generally now being around the same pricing.

Both brands make great tools and I would be happy with either. As I am sure I would be with Dewalt, Hikoki and many other brands.I also own some Ryobi and Ozito tools and I am happy with them as well.

    • Makita for the main tools I need quality. Ozito for gardening and the occassional tool ill use rarely. You can get decent makita pricing from overseas when new models come out or there’s some promo on, and the older stuff is the thing they want to dump. I got my multitool and air inflator from amazon uk reasonably cheap a few years ago. It’s all timing so i grab them when cheap if i think I’ll use them in the future.

  • This isn't new tho all skims are cheaper through America dewalt and Milwaukee and sometimes you cna get unreleased in Australia stuff like the 18v atomic impacts were on Amazon a year prior to being released in AU and also about half the price as AU retail.

  • 7.5 L vac arrived this morning.
Bloody good service. 12 hours from order to delivery.
It's quite an impressive unit. Well worth paying full price but awesome at 40% or so off.
    Thanks again SludgeTrumpet

    • Ryobi vac's all seem to be pure arse, going by the reviews. Let us know how you go with it.

      • Will do

  • good deal, wanna buy it but i got makita ahhhhh

    • I was the same with Milwaukee till half my tools got stolen. Bunnings had some cheap clearance dewalt stuff with batteries and chargers. Then i got a couple of makita tools I liked with batteries and chargers. Now I'm not a slave to one system and can buy tools when discounted etc or the tool that gets the best reviews no matter what brand. Never been happier. Works if you are stuck in a workshop but maybe a pain if mobile.

  • For those interested my vac came with a TTI Australia P/L warranty registration form.

  • Do we have to buy a battery to work with the vacuum? Saw 1 in stock for 153 again
