300

Was looking for some NBN deals and came across this.
Great deals, keep in mind 30 days cancellation notice.

FYI according to this comment, they perform a credit check.
Edit: Did some digging, indeed they do.

The First 6-month Discount Promotional Pricing Offer is only available to new Exetel residential nbn™ customers for a limited time. The discounted amount will appear as a credit on your Exetel invoice. You must stay on your purchased plan for the first 6 months to maintain your discount price. I moved from ABB > Superloop > Spintel > Exetel, over the last year. IMO ABB and Superloop are far better for FTTN connections.

Exetel has been good so far, minus a few unplanned outages, which hadn't occured before with other providers. Will stay for 6 months and churn elsewhere

  • My 50/20 Mbps for 54.99 is still going 💪🏿

I've been with them for about 7 months, consistently getting above 100 Mbps on the 100/20 plan (FTTP).

They also give you 5 free speed boosts per month (that bank up) which is cool to occasionally move up to 250 Mbps.

Only reason I would consider moving would be price as my 6 month discount as ended.

Important to note for anyone signing up that they do require a 30 day notice to leave them which is frustrating.

    • I love the 24 hour speed boosts, used 4 of them over Christmas New Year while everybody was home and it was seamless. Have 100/20 and it boosted to 250/something.

      • Something = 25Mbps up.

  • Been with Exetel for around 6 months now, no issues so far, good speed. I’m on FTTP with 50/20.

Just plan in advice to cancel, give the cancellation request at 5 month period, and by the end of 6 months, you are good to go onto another provider for 6 months honeymoon. Keep churning every 6 months. I’m just about to move to Spintel now.

SpinTel only have a single POP in NSW and all your traffic goes there first. Your ping will go up if that matters to you.

Factor in another 1% surcharge for card payments. Can only be avoided with direct debit.

  • Was able to get this as an existing customer by telling them I wanted to leave and they got me to stay by offering the 100/20 plan for 68.95 a month for 6 months

  • Been with them for decades. Best ISP that works for me. Support staff in Sri Lanka all highly skilled and perfect English. Good accurate clear billing system. Should you ever have outstanding issue they have a Representative on Whirlpool who is active daily and always sorts out any problems fast. The Exetel community there are also very helpful and proactive if you have any odd 'outside the box' questions.

  • Is FTTC or FTTH any different if all I'm after is wireless and no devices will be hard wired??

    • It’s a little different one uses VDSL technology and it limited to 100/40 the other uses fibre optics all the way and get speeds as high as 1000 mbps down.

  • anyone experienced issue with HomeKit after moving to Exetel? Some sites like asic.gov.au just won’t load on the home network too… the slowness is annoying…

I am on HCF if that helps.

  • Hi peeps, if I'm on fttc 50/20 exeltel and wanting to upgrade to 100 will they do a fftp?
    Tx

  • Hi, can anyone help me on the modem? the one they offer is quite pricey ($140). Is there any other modem that I can buy and be easy to plug and play for Exetel? Looking to go on a 50/20 plan. Thanks.

Go on facebook market place and get a free or cheap Telstra smart modem gen 1 or 2 (some of those Telstra smart modems mention adsl on the box, but they support vdsl).
Works with Exetel, very easy to configure: just enter username and password for pppoe.

      • Thanks for that. I realised I have FTTP at the apartment I will go soon.
Telstra modem you mentioned is what I need? Or a wifi router? A bit confused.

        • If you have FTTP, you just need a router, no modem required.
So for FTTP the router from this deal is all you need.

          • @johnmelb: Thanks - much appreciated.
If I want to search on marketplace, is there a specific brand/model you can suggest?
