      • Please tighten the front wheel!!

        • I definitely did. That was part of the instructions.

Got mine. Silver arrows version. I haven’t touched an e-bike before and found it easy. I don’t think it’s worth paying for assembly, the videos already linked in chat are good. Better using the money for lights. It’s bloody heavy so that might be an issue for a smaller person or kid assembling on their own. I can lift my cannondale with my two fingers this thing would break them.
Two questions for fellow users regarding electric which I am a newbie
    1) I’ve been charging for over 8 hours and the power adaptor light is still red. Shouldn’t it turn green once fully charged?
    2) Can you use either the round charging port on the frame or preferably the usb port under the display to power a light assembly? I would assume a led light assembly would drain very little power so would be OK? It does seem odd that there are no inbuilt lights on an e-bike - seems an obvious thing to add to an e-bike and one of its potential advantages?
I’ll give feedback after my ride comparing to lightweight non-powered standard bike. I’m getting the feeling that the push from the limited power will almost be offset completely by this things weight, especially approaching 25kph or higher

  • Been for a couple of rides on the bike. No great surge of power in any of the levels, however lots of torque. I’ve starting off in level 1 with the CVT set for hills and then moving to the CVT to half way works well at about 20kph. I initially ordered a large arrow sport but change to a medium arrow. On power level 5 the torque will push out to 40kph so not sure which bike I received as the sport and standard arrow are identical. A few squeaks from spokes which need tightening.

  • Mine arrived and glad I wasn't the only one who noticed some differences between the videos and actual assembly. E.g. seat wasn't installed but kickstand was. That's when things went awry for me - the seat was missing the bottom chuck that connects to the seat post so now awaiting a response from them.
I was hoping my existing one would fit but the size of the teeth and bolt are different. Also was hoping it dropped in the box somewhere but have checked many times to no avail. Hopefully not too long again before I can ride this.
It does seem like a very heavy bike, will be interesting to see how my commute compares to the old flatbar roadbike. The hope is that I can get there in the same time without having to change into bicycle gear and sweating!

  • Anyone else getting a click/snap sound through about 19km/h?

    • Kinda, not exactly at 19kmh but definitely between 15-25kmh.

      • +1

Yep on acceleration. Anyone know what it might be?

I've contacted N+ bikes regarding the 14 day change of mind returns, will update as to how that goes.
I noticed that they have changed the wording about it in their terms and conditions since ordering. Thankfully it seems an Ozbargainer went through and saved a copy of the site on the Wayback Machine on the 23rd of January.
Specifically they took out the part about them paying for return shipping.

    Here's the differences:

I've had zero luck with a refund, after receiving a bike with bent spokes and a dodgy brake - still trying to resolve it after weeks.

      • +1

Well, shit. Are they just ghosting you?
I wonder if credit card chargeback is an option.

      • Damn. I got bad vibes from them so I didn't pull the trigger. This confirms my hunch.

For the most part, when I was enquiring, I found it easier to get a response if I submitted each question/enquiry through the website instead of replying to emails.

They also told me Silver Arrows was sold out in Australia yet I still see it on the website so I'm not sure what's going on there.

        • I got a reply to my email minutes after messaging them on Facebook lol.

      • The first reply to "I want to return it for a refund" was "how come"?
Now to wait another 2 days for the next reply.

        • I just went back to them last night as it has taken over 2 weeks to get a my warranty issues even acknowledged!

Got the standard form facebook response " I have passed this information onto our support team and escalated your query with them. Thank you"

@tooler: Ugh ok this might be a long process.
Frustrating because I'd like to be able to use the money on another ebike but can't while it's sitting in my garage.

            • @theguyrules: I feel exactly the same way…If they fixed the issues and threw in a spare battery that'd be okay too :-)

              • @tooler: I'm lucky in that mine seems to have no bent spokes or similar, so I can ride it around. It's just not really what I'm after in an eBike.

anyone had any luck getting the Mercedes logos off - don't seem to be stickers. asking for a friend who doesn't feel the need for status logos :?)

    • +1

I’m not too bothered but will probably put a wrap over it at some stage.

    • +1

Yeah my plan was to buy some matte vinyl from Spotlight / Amazon and just wrap over it.

    • +1

agreed - I have some 3M white super reflective tape that I covered my last bike with to try and be seen at night - reckon I might apply that in strategic spots on this bike as well.

  • +1

Man that two-pedal delay makes things very difficult waiting to cross a main road and dart between traffic gaps.

    • +1

Yeah I wish there was an 'immediate launch' option.

  • +1

Sent many questions since I got the bike. Not one response from n++

  • Has anyone managed to get the seat to lower to the very bottom? I am a short guy and even the tall bike is a little tall for me and my partner

    • It’s not unusual to feel like a big step to hop up onto the seat.

    • You will have to rotate the seat 360 degrees twice I think either clockwise or anticlockwise to get the power cable to go down properly.

Huge thank you to Glow worm for assembling the bike! Top team, super helpful and nice.

Im liking my formula E bike. Only rode it around the park but like it so far. Will need to raise the handlebar somehow.

Initial impressions, bike is heavy no way doing wheelies with it. Brakes are bad, not sure of i need to bed in like automotive brakes(?)
Power assist is good, this is a commuter and not a motorbike for me. Smooth transmission. Very solid nice bike.

Wish N+ would reply to emails, would make the customer experience so much better.

I found the black stem riser in stock at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B005PM5S5A?smid=A3P6X2GIMA114Z&…

        • +1

Thanks for that, got that exact one from REID cycles here in NSW. Stem riser make a huge difference in making the bike way more comfortable.

First daily run, quite impressed. I was covered in sweat when I rode my old bike, literally no sweat getting to work. Bike is a tank but it trucks along at cruise speed. I wont be bunny hopping curbs in it but once you have a clear path no problems overtaking experienced riders on expensive road bikes. Bike is nice and solid, feels well built. Only minor complaint is that wish the gear ratio was more aggressive when going from low to high gear, also pushing off is hard since no assist. Minor things to get use to but so far excellent commuter bike.

oh the supplied front and rear reflectors dont fit lol

          • @Bid Sniper: Interesting, my first ride I got smoked by cyclists. Was pretty interesting. I found (like I said elsewhere here) that once you hit 25kmh it's too heavy to cruise at much more than that.

            • @theguyrules: Depends where you go, flats they will overtake no problems, for me was built up hilly urban area. So the power assist helps a lot.

Certainly a battle tank, I did get up to 49kph on a downhill though. Weight helps with stability though, for me 25kph is fine given the its inner city.

Ive been to their main headquarters in Perth (Osborne Park) - it's just a 10-12 people office with no name in front, and I imagine they're scrambling to take care of thousands of orders. The seem very nice and genuine people, just a bit understaffed maybe. Once the huge wave of orders will be exhausted I am pretty confident their customer support quality will improve massively. Give them a chance :)

I picked up my Large Silver Arrows Sport from their offices in Osborne Park, Perth this morning and was pleasantly greeted by Brooke. She expertly gave me a rundown of what I needed to know and politely saw my off. So glad they assembled it for me as its a very smooth ride from the get go.

Its a beautiful bike, heavy but stealth in nature. So glad I went for the Sport model, as that extra boost comes in handy. The max speed I reached was 39 km/hr albeit for a few seconds. You really need to keep pedalling to sustain it and my fitness levels are far from ideal. I struggled to get home though as it was a 40km ride that took just under 2hours. I ended up with a numb butt, blistered thumb using the Enviro CVS while going up hills and sore shoulders from having to lean too far forward in order to reach the handle bars. I did stop frequently to relax and enjoy the scenery. I plan on biking it to work so am relieved that that trip is half the distance.

The first things I would change out are the seat, handle bar grips and pedals as they are not comfy for longer rides. I will also look into getting the aforementioned stem riser which should make it a perfect ride afterwards.

All in all its a great bike at a great price. Customer support is bound to improve so for anyone else out there waiting, hang tight, its definitely worth the wait.

    • So it didn’t need additional set up for increasing speed beyond 25kmph?

      • +2

Nah, it was all fully unlocked for me with 5 levels of Pedal Assist available

    • +1

I also got a blister on my thumb the first time Ive ride it for more than 2 hours straight. ugh!

      • Same. It’s like the old bmx days again!

    • +2

Happy with my seat linked above. Also the cable fits nicely through the hole.

Fitted the stem riser last night. Much happier with the ergonomics but haven’t taken it for a ride yet.

  • +2

Have done 120Km on the bike. First ride 50km, second ride 70km and 3 bars left of the battery. Loud squeaking from the rear wheel spokes and squeaking from the belt drive. Major concern was inability to turn the bike off using the button under the seat and a range of 70km. After many frustrating phone calls, spoke to Alex at n+bikes support. It appears I may have received a sports model, hence the ability to cruise at 40kph, and not the standard silver arrow which I ordered. Range issue is because the silver arrow sports is charged via the top bar and not the seat post, as in manual, which has not been updated, Very helpful conservation explaining they have been inundated with orders worldwide and requested I send a video recording the noise from the spokes and belt drive. Couldn’t understand the explanation around then on/off button under the seat and I have been requested to send a video of my operating the button and mode switch.

Overall, great to ride and confident issues can be addressed bearing in Cyclezone at Maroochydore who assembled the bike said it was flitted with quality components, just a few squeaks which can be addressed by tightening spokes, dry lube on the belt drive and hopefully, charging via the top bar to address the range issue. N+bikes have offered to send a stem riser free of charge to lift the handle bar. I will be fitting a Brookes Cambium saddle and changing the handle bar grips to soften the ride. Have been advised to forward receipts for recertification to receive reimbursement for expenses.

    • Damn 40kmh cruising would be awesome
Sounds like N+ are being good. Nice to hear.

    • +1

You said your major concern eas 70km range but you said you did a 70km ride and still had 3 bars battery remaining. Wouldnt that work put to around the 120km range specified those the silver arrows bikes?

    • So is there any definitive way to tell the SA vs SAS apart? I was confused by the presence of two charge ports on the SA. I use the seat one right?

  • Just went and road the last of three bars. Three bars to one in 7km.

    • +1

Yeah, I learned that my interpretation of 3 bars was perhaps different to the reality of the bike when I did my first ride to work! Needless to say, I got to push my fitness levels a lot on the way home.

  • Thats what the manual states, to charge via the seat post, however in a conversation with n+bikes (Alex) he advised the sports version was charged via the top tube. There is no way of telling the difference physically between the SA and SAS. The only way they be distinguished is by checking the serial number with n+plus bikes.
