Hey, Everyday Rewards confirmed with me there is an error with the processing of this promotion.

I bought $400 in $50 cards, but only received 1,000 points. I waited 20mins to connect to an online agent, then had this resolved in about 10-15mins time. Though I am currently waiting on points to be loaded to my account.

I believe this is just applying the bonus points to 1 gift card. So had I bought a single variable $400 gift card, I'd likely have gotten the 8,000 points properly.

If your points aren't appearing, I suggest contacting Everyday Rewards.

    Here's what they said:

we can see that there is a issue with this promotion not giving the correct amount of points to our customer in order for me to credit you the points i must fill out a form in order for you to get the correct amount of point which is 7,000 points.
this will take up to 14 business days for the 7,000 points to be added to your account

Wondering if 20x Apple gift card will be back soon…

    • +1

Hoping the same. Keep an eye for Big W as often, woolies does it first, then Big w

    • +3

You can easily use the Ultimate Kids or Teen cards to buy Apple gift cards at Officeworks or JB Hi-Fi.

      • +1

        nice tip, thanks

      • Can you confirm if I can get a $500 gift card on a single card? I didn't want to risk using too many cards and jb hifi or officeworks refuses to do so

        • +2

Neither JB Hi-Fi nor Officeworks sell a $500 Apple gift card. The highest denomination both retailers stock for Apple gift cards is $200.

          • @WookieMonster: Officeworks sells $20-$500 variable load Apple gift cards. The store I went to was happy to exchange my 2 x $500 ultimate teens cards for 2 x $500 apple cards no questions asked. YMMV depending on store location it seems

      • +1

I would not use the word "easily". Give it a try at officeworks then you will know what I mean :)

        • +2

I just read in their website: Gift cards cannot be used to purchase gift cards.

          • @brunodla: Just tell them it's not a gift card, the credit type gift cards can just be swiped at register.

            • +1

@Loracks: It has been much harder lately. I tried explaining to them before, but they still regarded those as gift cards and refused the purchase, citing money laundering issues (same reason at multiple stores). They even verify what card is used on Apple/Google pay sometimes. Yeah it depends on the person serving, but they check much more frequent now…

        • +1

It is easy considering I’ve done it dozens of times without issue. I don’t even hide the fact that I’m using a gift card to pay but if you’re scared of being told off you can always just add it to Apple Pay.

          • @VantageXL: Is it still considered a gift card if it’s from apple pay?

            • @Mrbetta: Adding it to Apple Pay just makes it harder for staff to know that you're using a gift card to buy a gift card. If they can see the physical card they'll know it's not a normal bank card but I've honestly never had anyone care.

              • +1

@VantageXL: Can confirm this works. Lucky woolworths and JB are only 100m away from each other

                • @Mrbetta: how did you get it to work? I can't add the card my TCN Gift Card to apple pay…

                  • @fazetemple: You go to Wallet. Then Add as a debit card. Press manually add details. Enter the card number and cvv. Expiry is 12/29

                    • @Mrbetta: That advice would be helpful if the previous commenter had Ultimate gift cards.

They said they were having trouble adding a TCN gift card to Apple Pay (which is likely because it is not possible to do that for most physical TCN gift cards).

                      • @WookieMonster: Ok so the current Woolworths ones are ultimate ones right? So I should be able to add the “teens” one onto my Apple Pay are try get Apple gift cards with them in store instead?

                        • @fazetemple: Yes… as long as you purchase the Visa version of the Ultimate Teens gift card.

If you are not sure what I'm referring to, have a look at the relevant FAQ.

There's also nothing stopping you from using the TCN GIFT gift card to purchase an Apple gift card at JB Hi-Fi… other than the fact that some staff will stop you if they figure out what you're trying to do and they do not approve of it.

                          • +1

@WookieMonster: Today the staff at JB was a legend. She saw the stack of cards, helped me scratched the PINs and even swiped them for me to get me thru the queue as far as possible.

                          • @WookieMonster: I just bought the visa version of the ultimate teen card. But I’m confused what to put into the expiry date. I’m getting an error but that’s the only issue I think I’m having

                    • @Mrbetta: I just got the ultimate teens visa version and it’s not working with the expiry date 12/29. What would it be if I just bought the card now? I’ve tried 3 and 6 years after today and it’s not working

                      • @fazetemple: Hmmm interesting. I just used the card number and the CVV on the card and it worked for me. Not sure how to help tbh

              • @VantageXL: how do I add my TCN Gift Card to Apple Pay? I tried scanning the card and don't know what to put under Card "Name" under Card Details. Is there a video online showing how it's done? This is an awesome idea.

      • what do people buy with Apple Gift cards?

        • Macbook pro maybe? Anything you want really.

          • @Loracks: wouldn't it be cheaper online or retailer on special?

can you use it for streaming subscription like stan, disney, netflix?

            • @Poor Ass: Not sure. The 15% off cards and Apple education pricing probably better than any retailer. More consistent too. Those Apple sales from Amazon and officeworks are hard to predict.

I think you can use it for apps, so probably for subscriptions.

              • @Loracks: sounds just as bad as the Google play gift cards

                • @Poor Ass: I think another issue would be locking in the value for future purchase. Some comments about these endless sales and the need to spend quickly made me want to get the value off these cards asap.

            • @Poor Ass: I’m buying a new macbook for work. Might as well get 35k qantas points

              • @Mrbetta: Surely elsewhere cheaper

Generally buy direct from brand cost more

                • @Poor Ass: Apple doesn't really go on sale often in other places and I'm planning to customise it to add more RAM and storage. I'm getting the education discount from my sister so like a $500 discount plus free AirPods!

        • App subscription when turkey isnt cheaper i.e. Zwift

      • Is it easier to do at JB or officeworks? or is it the same

  • Any way to pay with woolworths gift cards?..

    • +3

      Couple years too late

  • +2

Wonder where the woolies catalogue is for Wednesday

    Normally drops at 5pm AEDT

    [ on the app]

    • Was available, as usual, at 5pm.

      • +2

Ok checked my app multiple times

        Just bad luck i guess.

Not sure why i got negged ?

Did appear around 45 minutes late, for me.

  • +1

    waiting for swap or eBay

  • +2

Remember to check the points. No points no deal.

I’m still waiting on points since October 2022 and two phone calls still haven’t fixed my issue. Dodgy bastards.

  • +1

We got baby, kids, teen, mum, where the heck is dad. Unless dad is the new mum Kappa

    • +1

For dad there's the student card. He's getting schooled like never before by his master.

  • Was waiting for Her or Thanks, seems theyre doing almost everything else instead.

  • Good one

  • What denomination do these gift cards come in?

    • +4

From what I remember what Woolworths Supermarkets typically stock:

      • Baby & Mum: $50, $100
      • Kids: $30, $50, $50-$500 variable load
      • Teens: $30, $50, $20-$500 variable load
      • Students: $30, $50
      • Active & Wellness: $50, $100
      • Style/Shopping: $50, $100

Keep in mind that Woolworths Metro stores usually don't stock as wide of a range of Ultimate gift cards as Woolworths Supermarkets.

      • Just a quick question, is it possible to buy Apple products at JB using Kids or/and Teens gift cards? I’m looking to get iPhone 14.

        • +1

          I would say so.

          • I’ve never heard of anyone being stopped from using Ultimate gift cards to purchase an iPhone instore at JB Hi-Fi.

          • I am not aware of any JB Hi-Fi store policy preventing people from using Ultimate gift cards to purchase an iPhone (or Mac or iPad or AirPods, etc) at JB Hi-Fi.

Don’t forget to check whether a competitor (e.g. Officeworks) is selling the same identical iPhone model at a lower cost, as you should be able to get JB Hi-Fi staff instore to price match it first.

Btw, if you are planning on purchasing the iPhone through the JB Hi-Fi website, you will need to “convert” your Ultimate gift cards into JB Hi-Fi gift cards first, as there is no way to split payment across multiple Visa cards on the JB Hi-Fi website. Refer to this comment for more information.

The only Apple product sold at JB Hi-Fi where you staff may stop you from using Ultimate gift cards as a payment method is Apple gift cards, as some staff do not like people using gift cards to purchase gift cards. That is something to be mindful of, especially if you want to use the Ultimate gift cards to purchase Apple gift cards and then use the Apple gift cards to purchase the iPhone directly from Apple and get additional cashback via Cashrewards/Shopback/Cheddar.

  • So if I get $879 worth of the kids card. Looks like you can put up to $500 on the card so I’ll have to do one of those and a $279 card too. I’ll get roughly 10% back in Woolworths credit? So about $87?

    • +1

I think you meant $379, not $279… but if you purchase $879 worth of Ultimate Kids gift cards through this deal, you should get 17,580 Everyday Rewards points through this deal (which is equivalent to $87.90 in Everyday Rewards Dollars… or 8,790 Qantas points).

    • +1

Ya but don't be surprised if you have to call up after 14 business days to get the points

Variable cards infamous for not giving on the spot points

I had to call up a few times before after they stop doing online chat

      • Three times on the phone, at least 2-3 hours in total wasting time. Not really worth the hassle. Either I get the points today, or no purchase made on my end.

        • Thanks guys for the responses. Sounds like an effort! I'm just trying to get a bit of a discount on the psvr2.

        • it happens but the 10% discount Ultimate deal sure is better than the 10% in points

          • @Poor Ass: Which is why I'm heading to Coles this week to stock up on JB Hifi cards.

            • @t25: CBF dealing with tiny denominations

  • +1

bought 10 of the $100 baby and mum cards. Showing 2000 points, will check later on to see if this updates.

    • Did you purchase all the gift cards in one transaction or separate transactions?

      • all in one purchase

        • +3

Hmmm it’s strange you only received points for one gift card.

Something tells me you will need to chase this up with Everyday Rewards… and that will not be fun.

    • +1

Come to think of it, they might have the wrong multiplier active (2x instead of 20x). Going to have to be a phone call unfortunately it seems.

      • Just did a test run when I was getting a coffee. $500 got me 1000 points.

Did not proceed as I have no desire to contact WWR.

    • Same here. But it says "Bonus points can take up to 14 business days to be loaded onto your Everyday Rewards Card from the date of purchase" so I hope it will be loaded onto my account later.

    • I just purchased $400 in $50 amounts and only got 1,000 points. So guess I'll need to contact them too! Have your missing points turned up yet?

  • +1

I'm surprised that variable load apparently works, thats unusual.

    • yep works if it doesn't state otherwise but probably need to call up to get the points

  • Just bought $500 of kids and teen card got 20x points straight away

    Maybe issue has been fixed?

    • Lucky! I only got 2x points earlier today. Called the support line and got told to wait 14 days. The wait begins…

      • which cards did you buy and what value?

        • 10x $50 ultimate teens

          • @Thaos: oh no mate… you could just buy 1x$500

            • @Poor Ass: Lol yup. Didn’t realise variable value cards were included.

    • +1

Can confirm. Bought $2000 in $500 blocks and was rewarded with 40000 points on the screen.

Double checked my account and yup, its there.

      • Same here. Straight away

      • lol what happen to going to Coles?

        • Purchased my five from Coles, redeemed at JB Hifi.

Purchase four from Woolies to redeem at Officeworks.

          • @t25: what ya buy at officeworks

            • @Poor Ass: Back to school for kids, office furniture for the client (new office fit out), and a whole heap of A4 paper that one of the fellas decided to sell by the ream, but send to me by the carton.

              • @t25: don;t forget back to school if they are more expense 20% off

  • Question: If I buy $500 worth of cards, can I use my Everyday Extra 10% off for the month, to bring it down to $450? Then, will I still get the 20x points on the $500 worth of cards, giving me 10,000 points?

  • +2

Got variable cards today without any issues

    • Variable ones that can be used at jb hifi? What is the max amount you can get?

      • You can load up to $500 on one variable-load gift card.

In theory, you can purchase up to ten gift cards in a single transaction at Woolworths, but I would be extremely surprised if a store manager approved a $5,000 gift card transaction.

        • +1

Thanks for that info. I thought they only went up to $50 cards for some reason. Want to get the psvr at $879 so might go in tomorrow and buy a $500 and a $379 one and get the points for those.

        • +1

I've done it in the past before; the store manager had to come down and authorise the sale. Got questioned as to why I was buying so many, and if I had been called by anyone to purchase these.
