Lame no Mac mini m2 eligibility. Like what the hell is eligible lol

    • Hopefully Cashrewards does one with more eligible products.

    • basically nothing at this point. was hoping to get the previous phone models but the last couple of generations are locked out. I think its just only the m1 macbook and ipads

  • On the cashback catergoeries it says "AirPods Pro (1st Gen) iMac (Retina 5k 27-inch), Apple Pro Display XDR, MAC Studio, BOSE products, iTunes, Trade-in-parts, Gift Cards, Gift Wrap, Apple Developer Programs, Shipping and AppleCare products, & Apple Refurbished products" are 0%, are you sure refurbs are under the cashback?

    • It says - Cashback is eligible on the purchase of Apple refurbished products. on their notes off their website

    • You are correct - on both the App and website refurbs are listed with a big red 0%. It might have been updated after colt75 posted it.

      • Weird. It says 0% on cashback rates but underneath that in notes it says eligible

  • This time the last 2 years, the latest iPhones would be finally be eligible for cashback. Sadness

    • I was hoping iPhone 14 Pro would finally be removed from the exclusion list. Both CR and SB still listed it. Guess I’ve to wait longer

  • +1

was personally waiting for a good cashback deal for the new macbook pro m2.

How can you have such expectation knowing Apple historically do not offer cashback on their newly released products?

    • l would have loved macbook air M2 …. expect new devices to be discounted ? , well it’s back to school time , my sons school they have choice windows laptop , or macbook pro M2 at much higher price than windows laptop ……. if apple want more of the school market they would need better deals on M2 ….they are very aggressive in american schools with deals ….. latest models …..well at school it has to last min 3 years so school goes with latest models …..

      • It doesn’t say that the air is excluded? Happy to be told I’m wrong.. I did just get new contacts..

    • +1

I waited following the release of m1 pros. I eventually bought one with great cashback a few weeks before the m2 pros came out lol.

    • Never bought the latest product with cash back before. But I’ll now know for next time.

  • Is payment by gift cards still eligible for cashback? Why can't they make it clear?

    • True but would assume no

      • Just confirmed with online chat cashback not paid on the giftcard component :(

        • That’s a bit better than cashback not paid on the entire amount? I would have thought if a gc is used the entire amount is ineligible for cb

  • +1

Can I pay partially in gift cards and partially in Westpac card(~$500) for claiming both Cashback?

    • I will rather buy 10% discounted gift cards rather than paying from my Westpac card, then claim another 8% Cashback.

      • Where do they have the 10% discounted gift cards currently available?

  • +1

These cashback offers are getting very lame! Last year it was 8% up with cashrewards to $100.

    • +6

Welcome to Shopback: where the customer experience gets shi77ier and shi77ier each year.

      • +1

Welcome to Shopback: where the customer experience gets shi77ier and shi77ier each year.

        Yeah.
I will stick to CashRewards where deals are consistently bad. :)

        • +4

Yup, plus you don't need to consistently chase CR for missing upsized cashback promos. At least not in my experience.

    • +2

Check again, it's 8% uncapped with a bonus 10% with westpac $50 cap.

  • Nuts. Just bought a Chinese new year case from there which could’ve been cheaper.

  • Not bad

  • Can someone explain how a maximum $50 cash back is a good deal when buying from a store that sells everything for thousands?

    • +1

Check again, it's 8% uncapped with a bonus 10% with westpac $50 cap.

      • Ahhhhhh I checked again and I saw. Makes sense

  • Ok I cave in.

Which Westpac account is eligible for this and how long would it take to open it? Anyone done it?

    • Just call up and open it, you won’t even need to go in person to be identified to open it.

  • Likely to work on Union store??

    • would like to know also

  • -1

Is it eligible on the education store?

  • Tad confused. So a stock standard iPhone 14 will track ok but if I pay partially with cc then balance with Apple Giftcard balance which is already sitting against my account will that be ok or is that classed as a Giftcard payment? Plus I’m trading in an old iPhone also which I think will just go as credit against my account also.

  • Apple Watch series 8 not excluded? WOOT

  • So what's eligible lol

  • So the price is the same as normal Apple Store? Eyeing the iPad mini. Why education then?

  • -1

ACTUALLY YOU'RE MISTAKEN, ITS EVERYTHING ON EDUCATION WEBSITE.

    • as long as its an edu product

      • Okay, now I am confused. I plan to buy an iPhone 13 (non-pro). It is not listed as excluded. Is it supposed to be tracked, or considered 'non edu' products? Thanks for your attention.

        • I think if it’s through the education website it’s included

  • Cash rewards used to partial payment with Apple credits and Credit Cards
    Not sure about Shopback

    @gotyourback

    • +3

Hey there mate, yeah partial payment via gift card or Apple credit is fine for them! Got it confirmed by our team :)

      • Thanks for confirming @gotyourback.
Can I assume, as per previous Westpac cashbacks, that the 10% bonus is calculated on the full amount (not just the component charged to the Westpac card)?

        • +2

That's correct, mate, the full amount :)

      • Would one still receive the cashback if the entire purchase was paid using apple gift cards?

        • +1

Hey mate, you'll get the original Cashback at 8%, just not the Westpac Lounge Bonus Cashback.

          • @gotyourback: Sorry to be a pain but just to confirm, if I was to use 2200$ worth of apple store credit and $150 from a Westpac debit card to pay for $2350 item, I'd receive $188+$50 cashback since 2350x8/100=$188. Is this correct??

          • @gotyourback: Ah perfect, cheers

          • @gotyourback: Hi there, I know this current deal is expired but 5% cash back still remains so it's worth mentioning:
I have had a Shopback customer service team member tell me that any part of an Apple purchase made by gift card is ineligible for cashback.
Could this be clarified for future cash back deals? Thanks.

            • +1

@fauxtographies: Hey mate, yeah unfortunately the wording they use is a bit confusion so I'll reach out to the team to get this clarified. Thanks heaps for flagging!

      • Thanks for the reply and confirmation :)

  • can I pay with credit in my Apple ID , and still get the cashback, I didn't see anything on the t&c, has anyone done it in the past?

    • Yes I believe so. As long as any amount goes onto your Westpac card, the bonus cashback will track at the full amount.

      • -1

I don't have a westpac card. will other cards work?

  • Cheddar has the same cashback but with no cap.

    • On cheddar website: "Cashback will not be earned on purchases of gift cards or if using a gift card as a payment method", so Apple credit is not eligible with Cheddar?

      • xD you'll need to ask them before purchasing I guess. Not too sure…

  • Does this mean that there's 8% cashback on the Apple Watch Series 8 BUT only if I purchase it through the Apple edu store?

  • +1

May as well list out eligible products!

  • That's a lot of confusing fine print.
At this point I assume there is no Cashback on refurbished products.

  • I was on the chat with ShopBack representative and they confirmed… No cashback on MacBook Pro M2:

"Unfortunately, MacbookPro with M2 (exclusion list) is not eligible for Cashback.

However, the rest of the items in https://www.apple.com/au-hed/store that are not listed under the exclusion list are eligible for 8% Cashback."

    • did they say you can pay with apple credit?

      • I didn't ask as illegible M2 is a deal breaker for me :-(

        • how did you get to chat with a representative, I always go the robot sparky, which is useless.

      • Just confirmed with online chat cashback not paid on the giftcard component :( Did you get advised same?

        • no, the robot didn't confirm with me.

        • Did you ask whether shopback applies to gift cards or to apple store credit?? They might've thought you were asking if shopback applies to direct purchases of gift cards

          • @Kahuna328: I asked the operator what happens to cashback if I use the apple giftcards I received for Christmas just to be clear. They said I would only get it on the non gift card part :( Even then have to wonder whether that is true that they would use the difference and not just void it?

  • Am I reading this correctly - so the Apple Watch Ultra is eligible providing you go through the Education Store and ShopBack?
So that makes the price $1,145.08 ((1299*0.92)-50)? I really doubt this deal. Just because the Watch Ultra isn't listed amongst exclusions, I still don't think it qualifies as an "EDU product". Does anyone else agree that it is risky to put faith in this, given the scant or ambiguous detail?

  • +3

@colt75 just checked with Shopback support chat. FYI the refurbished store is NOT included in this offer.

    • Thank, updated

  • So I think this deal is offering 8% uncapped cash back plus a bonus 10% capped at $50 for westpac.

I believe (consistent with past deals and the fine print) that payment by gift card is eligible but purchase of gift cards is ineligible.

Purchase of products like non excluded iPhones or watches is eligible (notwithstanding there being no discount on the edu store).

    Anyone think differently?

  • Are we still able to purchase iPhone 13 Pro from Apple Store? Don't see it listed anywhere on the website….

  • +1

Wow, with exclusion of refurb store and so many products, maybe it would be easier if they just tell us what IS included… terrible offer

  • Odd, I thought the 8% cashback is for tomorrow but it's showing in Cashback today and finishing at midnight.

Edit: Tempted to get a new Macbook Air M2 or may as well go with a bang for a new M2 Pro 16" MBP for an extra 1K compared to the M2 Air as I'm a sucker for battery life and looking to get about 4-5 years from my laptop. Would the free Airpod deal be valid for HED only or it is also valid for the AOC store?

    • I believe ShopBack’s ‘Ca$h Craze’ event expires tomorrow midnight, but this current Apple Edu offer is today only - this post incorrectly lists expiry tomorrow midnight.

    • HED only

  • +1

Previously ShopBack cashback using Apple gift cards as payment has been accepted. Cashback tracks at the full amount.

Edit: Yep, confirmed by @gotyourback above!

    Sweet deal!

  • +1

Has anyone’s purchase tracked correctly? Looks like mine tracked at standard 1.2% Cashback rather than 8% and no Westpac bonus :-/

    • mine hasn't been tracked yet

    • Mine tracked this morning. Just waiting for the extra 50 from Westpac

    • Having exact same problem. Sigh cakes. Westpac tracked correctly though.

    • Well it seem the description of what was actually included as an "Education Store" product was a bit unclear (to me at least)… only Macs and iPads on the front page were included (excluding listed specific models).

I bought an Apple TV through the EDU store link (https://www.apple.com/au-hed/shop/buy-tv/apple-tv-4k) and it wasn't listed in any of the exclusions, but apparently is not considered part of this offer so only received the 1.2%.

My Westpac bonus did at least come through though!

    • I am in the same boat. Have reached out to Shopback. They promised to investigate but have not heard back. I will give them a few days before following up with them.

  • Clicked on link and says cashback is now only 5%

    • Probably cos the offer is expired

  • MacBook air m2 wasn't in exclusion list but hasn't tracked :(

    • Most of my CashRewards cashbacks are tracked but rejected later.
If it's not tracked after a while you can contact CashRewards.

  • I think the 8% cash back for Apple Education is back on today 6/3 - 24 hours only.
