Is this even legit? Not the original site and my sketchdar is going off

    • sketchdar going bunters right now

    • Yes, BitsDuJour is a legitimate giveaway site that has been around for many years.

    • It's legit, BitsDuJour has had many deals like this. I got this actual app on a previous giveaway a while back. Definitely worth a download, it's a solid app if you want something keeping an eye on your drives.

  • whos the product?

HDDSentinel is actually a legit paid product to be clear

      • and my email? why? just show reg code on page. I hate being the product.

Doesn’t necessarily mean this site is legit. actual site: https://www.hdsentinel.com/

I still unclear if the site mentioned in the deal is legit

@ShrewdBargin: The issue I had was the download link didn't work on my Chrome browser for some reason and after a few attempts, it says it's been downloaded too many times.

              @netsurfer: Likewise, dodgy af

              • @scuderiarmani: Good to know I am not the only one having the issue. I couldn't be bothered trying another Luke Skywalker e-mail. I did recall a similar deal for this application last year and the year before. Those worked fine.

                • @netsurfer: It doesn't download because Chrome prevents it. It flags the .zip file as dodgy. If you reeaaaally want to download it you can right-click the download link and click save link. Up to you to decide if that's worth it though.

      • i am also paranoid

Can use temp mail and it actually just links to a download page (non-https though) of the unlocked product. So you don’t need a code or to register.

i just used https://10minutemail.com for it

  • It's a good app for hard disk / SSD health monitoring BUT I've found it conflicts with Patriot Rage Pro USB flash drive making it totally unusable. It freezes the PC and heavily impacts transfer speeds. Tried on version 6.01 (the latest as of today). Eventually had to uninstall the app as couldn't use the USB key with it.

    • Patriot Rage Pro.

What idiot comes up with the names for these things.

Are you sure it's not the USB stick causing issues? Raging Patriots seem to have turned into useful Russian assets of late, have they also infiltrated your USB stick with spyware?

I'm only half-joking unfortunately, as I've been given free USB drives that had hidden malware try to install itself upon insertion and did dicky things with drivers. One installed a USB keyboard device and tried to direct my browser to a dodgy web page.

Regarding Hard Disk Sentinel, I've been using it for years and it's great software with a much better UI than some of the freeware or public domain tools offering similar functions. BitsDuJour are legit too, yes it's a pain they require an email address, but you can use a temporary address if you want. They're business model is offering random daily product trials, discounts, and freebies, so it's understandable.

Interestingly, the legit HDSentinel website was advertising BitsDuJour on their website (from their Facebook feed). So that at least gives some credence to the legitimacy of the deal.

Yes if you scroll down on the BitsDuJour site you will see "Load 510 older comments" and you can see all the comments from all the previous Hard Disk Sentinel deals going back to 2011. Times flies but i got Hard Disk Sentinel from this same deal 12 years ago.

Software and the site are fine, i've been using a previous version from this site for years on my server to check drives peridocially. They send advertising from time to time but no different to all the other spam.

      thanks but not working….

This promotion has been downloaded too many times from this link.

You can get this download by making a purchase from this page.

  • +1

If you have the one from last promo, you can still install it, just change the date back to when you downloaded it.

  • +1

1534 bytes smaller than the file last July.

You can reinstall this at another date if you change the PC's clock to before the program's expiry date, then change it back after.
