  • "Soooo good. but I have zero self control and end up eating the whole pack." -Ains

All these "healthy" snacks are super calorie dense, and will make you massively fat if you try to fill up on them as snacks. The entire health food isle is basically this now with these faux health snacks targeted to women. Peanuts and dates are healthy, but if you compress them down into a ball or bar it is just concentrated fat/carbs that wont fill you up.

    • Aren't you supposed to eat the whole pack?

I get what you’re saying, but ‘healthy’ =/= low calorie. Every sort of nut is extremely calorie dense (and not very filling) for example, due to a high dietary fat content, but they are extremely ‘healthy’ foods from a nutritional perspective.

My point was that the entire health snack section is this stuff now, there is nothing low calorie. It might be fine in small portions but if people are only buying this stuff they are going to have large portions of something thinking they are eating well.

Obesity is the #1 health problem in most of the developed world this isn't some minor thing. Pushing this stuff as a good option isn't helping imo. You might as well eat a BigMac for how many calories this stuff has but they they sell it as part of a new age healthy diet.

So I can eat Doritos instead of this hipster crap?

You're so wrong Kommodore. Not all calories are the same. Not all fats are bad. Highly processed, low nutrient foods are.

Both have about 50% dates. I think that's where the sugar/sweetness comes from. Dates are arguably healthy though.

    Hopefully these taste good.

Haven't tried this brand yet. I've been waiting for the Smooshed balls to go half price again. Love their Salted Caramel variety. Will give these ones a go. Cheers OP!

  • I've tried the salted caramel flavour and they were really good, but have gone bad being kept in their resealable bag (admittedly it's been over a few weeks).

It's fairly large and a serve is meant to be only two balls, so if you're not eating them quickly I'd recommend trying storing them in something fairly airtight.

love these, gonna pick up a few, thanks op

  • blech - dry as a dead dingo's donga

    • I've never eaten a dingo penis, but I agree that these are dry compared to Smooshed Balls. The flavour is good though.
