  • Great prodding and great price!

  • Great price if not using touchscreen

Edit actually looks like the jb listing does say touchscreen?

    • Thanks. Sorry pulling specs from various places.

      • I had written off the idea of this one but it’s back in contention between this and a surface laptop 5 to replacing an aging surface pro hmm

        • +2

I have one. I'm happy with it. It has a touchscreen OLED display.

A new Surface Laptop will give you a taller display for about double the price.

  • So this compared to the nuc i7 1260p. Better screen, half the storage. Any other notable differences from anyone?

    • Also smaller screen.

  • -1

Decent, better specs than the i5 HP deal but it's actually double the price for slight CPU upgrade. It has a much better screen, and battery tho.

  • Weighing up between this and an MSI Prestige at the moment

    • +1

MSI Prestige 13 Evo coming out next month. I'm waiting for reviews. The current Prestige models have crap battery life.

  • This seems like a great laptop, has all the latest and greatest specs for its class,

    • 16:10 14" OLED 90Hz Touch Display
    • Intel Core i7-1260P 12th Gen
    • 16GB LPDDR5
    • 512GB Gen 4 SSD
    • USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 2x USB-C Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1
    • MicroSD Card reader
    • Backlit Keyboard
    • Wi-Fi 6E
    • 75Wh Battery
    • Opens Flat - 180° Hinge
    • 1.39 kg
  • Wish it came in Ryzen flavour.

This vs. Ideapad Slim 5 Pro for $1500 on Lenovo education store?

    • 6800hs (8C/16T)
    • 16gb ram
    • 512gb ssd
    • 14" 2.8k, 400nit, IPS, 90Hz, matte screen
    • 55 WHr battery
    • +13

It ultimately comes down to taste. The ZenBook has a light airy texture with a slightly sweet aftertaste, but the IdeaPad has a strong tangy flavor that contrasts the smooth, almost milk like texture.

Just have to upgrade the ram and no USB C charging..

    • Quite similar I'd say. Go for Ideapad if you prefer Lenovo. Likely better battery life with AMD despite smaller battery. Although some question marks about consumer grade Lenovo laptop quality. But I have no idea re Asus quality either.

    • Fair point, the integrated graphics processor on that 6800hs is about twice as powerful vs this Intel, that's got to count for something.

  • Is the RAM upgradable or soldiered?

    • soldiered pretty sure. Upgradable M.2 though

  • Does this have a plastic Chasis ?

    • +2

      Nope, its metal

  • No c&c

  • Does this have spare spot for more ram

  • Seems JB changed deal. Now after applying coupon the price is 1889

    • I bought one, had to do delivery thou no c&c

  • Missed out… great deal i would say

  • Fyi my laptop arrived today. Good build and screen, but dam it runs hot!! Burns my lap, reaching of temps 95 degree, with fan running full volume!!!

I'm going to try return, as I had another Asus vivobook and it does not run like this at all. It is honestly the hottest laptop I have ever used. No idea why, is it the CPU? Bd fan design?

    • That's not good :( I think the single fan design paired with a power hungry Intel 12th Gen processor is the culprit. It has E cores for efficiency but it still runs hot in thin and light chasis.

I got a MSI Prestige 14 last year and it also has constant fan noise (single fan design). On paper, it has great specs, but actually using it was not the greatest experience.

      • +1

I actually took it back to JB Yesterday, and they agreed to a refund. Unfortunately, i needed a laptop for work ASAP, so got the Lenovo 7I instead (i5 Version) for 1699. Fan noise no way near as bad as the Asus Zenbook so happy in that department.

Anyway happy they let me swap

    • Damn that is concerning. I know intel runs hotter but 95 degrees means maybe it wasn't built correctly.
