you should probably put the soundbar in the title lol

    what a deal.

  • Dang knew this would happen eventually.. paid $3300 thereabouts installed, no soundbar tho.. bought a sonos beam later on..

    good deal, great tv

  • Any suggestions/feedback on this TV (LG 65" G2 Gallery Self Lit OLED EVO 4K UHD Smart TV [2022]) and
ii) LG 65" CS Self Lit OLED AI 4K UHD Smart TV [2022]
    iii) Samsung 65" S95 OLED 4K Smart TV [2022]

Does anyone know when 2023 models are generally released?

      • Yeah, they are all around the same price range and I am confused between these 3 options. Any reviews/feedback/suggestions would be appreciated.

        • +1

Go to rtings. com and read those reviews. If you are in a bright room and tend to watch TV during the day, the QD OLED might be a better option. I would probably wait until 2023 Samsung model comes out, as it would be a huge improvement over 2022. The 2022 model was the 1st gen of that type of TV.

        • +5

If you are going to wall mount then the G2 is the best. The G2 is brighter than the CS, has 5 year panel warranty however if not wall mounting you would need to purchase the stand $175
CS, still an amazing TV and great value at these prices
The Samsung is their first attempt at an OLED, it has been plagued by quality control issues, you don't have to look far to find people on their 3rd panel but those without issues swear by how good the picture is on this tv, personally it needs to be cheaper than this before I would consider it over the G2.

          • @donkcat: Thanks donkcat, appreciate the insights. I am after wall mounted TV and G2 does look better from that use case.

  • +3

The sound bar LG SN4 seems to be a price jack though. $245 at Officeworks and Amazon.

  • +1

    These prices are unreal

    • Even better if had discounted GCs leftover from BF and Xmas etc too!

EDIT - actually online only so can’t stack with GCs of course doh

      • +1

GC is possible - I purchased online with AFTERHOURSJAN code and GC

  • I've had this in my shopping cart since couple days ago, couldn't decide because my viewing distance is like 4m, unsure about 65" (I will get the G2) or 77" (May have to settle with CS).

The extra 10% off certainly made it more tempting, but I still can't decide on the size..

Appreciate any kind of feedback, 65" or 77"?

    • +4

Same decision same distance went 77 cs no regrets. The gs isn't significantly better to offset the smaller size.

      • +3

        Yeah, definitely go the 77

        • +2

i have 3-3.5 metre viewing distance and have the 77 G1 for more than a year. Sometimes I wish for 83" but then you can never satisfy human :D

          • @jedimaster: Oh how nice would that be!!
Unfortunately i couldn't justify spending such a huge amount on am 83" 😂😂

      • I just checked the viewing distance at my place is ~3m. We currently have a few years old LG 55". always wanted a BIGger TV. probably should stick with 77, though this 65's price is really good.

    • If there was an 85 inch CS I would've gone with that over the 77. Very happy with the CS.

  • +1

I saw this in person today and was discussing it with the store clerk in disbelief, maybe best deal i've seen on a G series TV.

For perspective, the C2 65 inch is still $4k, just under if you use the same LG + coupon hack.

    • +1

Agree. Would be hard pressed to even be able to negotiate as good a deal on a clearance unit in a coupla months time when new models start rolling out….

  • Does it come with a stand? If optional, how much is it?

    • +2

looks like $175 for the 55/65" on their website

      • Thanks, yeah my parents are interested in the 65", looks like it comes with wall mount hardware it seems.

Just found this from LG website: https://www.lg.com/au/tvs/lg-oled65g2psa

Designed to be wall-mounted with included slim wall mount, optional table-top stand is sold separately.

    • Universal Swivel TV Stand/Base Table Top TV Stand 32 to 65 inch TVs 80 Degree Swivel, 4 Level Height Adjustable, Heavy Duty Tempered Glass Base, Holds up to 40kgs Screens, HT04B-002P… https://amzn.asia/d/cqYfUpE

    • When I bought my G1 last year it came with the stand in a separate box, as well as the wall mount hardware. YMMV.

      • Yeah there were mixed reports that some got the stand in a separate box, some didn’t get it at all.

    • You calling LG's top of the range TV a "cheap tv"?

    • +2

What GoogleTV? This LG uses WebOS.

  • +2

    Best price on a G2.

    • +1

Yep G2’s turn. Currently better than the C2s almost across the size board. Though the 83” C2 through this stacking deal comes to about $6.1k…only $800 more than 77 g2. pretty darn good if got the space and coin!!

  • +2

    Crazy low price

  • +7

Bought this online today. Used shopback GCs for an extra 2.5% off. Also had the service person price match the stand to the LG Amazon store price. Here was my cart https://imgur.com/a/O3RQalN

    • +1

How are you price matching with LG Amazon store for $109? The stand shows up as $345 for me.

      • +1

I see $175 (or $225 for the 77/83" version), both marked as 50% off.

        • +1

I see it for $175 now. Looks like the price is jumping up and down from $109 to $345. Really weird. I think I'm developing trust issues with Amazon now 👀

    • +1

that is a sexy cart, well done!

    • Can you post links to your price match? Also how did you get JB to price match do you need to call up for them to apply the differrence?

    • Thanks for sharing this rylan26 :) Got a similar cart: S80QY and G2

  • Back order, delivery only now. $74 to Sydney metro.

  • +1

Do ppl use a Apple TV with this?

    • I use an OG 4K one with my C7, and have bought two of the new ones for my new 55 and 77 G2s. Just can’t stand the slow interfaces that all these TVs suffer from.

  • +3

Someone talk me out of this quick

    • +6

You could buy a small island for that price.

    • +2

You could buy roughly 10 to 20 Leatherman's with that money instead?

      • Now you talking!

What’s the conversion rate of leatherman Ultimo knife to turbo man dolls these days?

    • +4

Best TV deal, amazing image quality and with a soundbar you wouldn’t need to spend the money at the cinemas. The family will love it and say you are the best, spending hours watching TV and not spending money going out. Best investment ever. Stocks and real estate can’t beat it.

      • +1

True but I already told them triple laser ultra short throw projectors will be the new ‘it’ thing in the upcoming years :(

      • Brilliant 🙌

  • Nice deal

  • Dam. Paid covid prices for my c1 :(

  • Got myself a G2 over Black Friday for 3000 from HNs. Quality set and this is a great price.

Might as well ask here. Anyone got any soundbar suggestions for the G2? I've never had a tv good enough to bother looking into one until now lol

    • depends on where the TV is placed. If you a dedicated home theater room, then go for proper 5.1.2 setup. If its in living room, then get Sonos Arc with 2x Sonos One SL like I am using it. Very happy with the output and the amazing picture quality.

      • Or instead of the Sonos One, pick-up the IKEA symfonisk bookshelf speakers (they are Sonos One in a different box) for $199

    • Bought at the same time and paired with Samsung Q930B for around $700. Does the job! Had Q990B previously but had dropouts on the left rear (known issue) so returned it and got the 930 for half the price

  • So is this the one with C2 panel or something else?

  • +2

Damn good deal. A tiny bit jealous. Still think I got my deal of the year with this. No complaints.

    https://files.ozbargain.com.au/upload/340140/100907/screensh…

    • Howd you pull that off ?

      • +3

LG targeted email promotion. I won 50% off anything but most prices on things were highly inflated and I really didn't need anything so I settled on this.

    • What? How???

  • +1

Anyone planning to return the soundbar? I read comment in original coupon post mention that

    • If you did that,. Would they refund you minus the total discount?

  • Anyone recommend a good wall bracket for a LG 65 inch c1 and the LG s95 soundbar ,assuming it would fit a g2 also, gotta raise them off a lowlevel tv unit to keep it out of the clutches of a nearly walking infant!

  • Dang! Kinda wish I waited 6 months instead of getting the C2 65" for the same price. Although then I probably would've had to buy the separate stand as I'm not sure I'd want to wall mount it

    • Lol I kinda want the c2 to be on deep discount because I can't wall mount. Still finding it very hard to resist this + half price stand though….doubt I'll be able to do much better deal wise until maybe black friday

  • +2

I'm going to regret not buying this. Is it wrong that I've prioritised some new turf over this? What is wrong with me?

    • +2

There will be another great tv deal. This is great and so was the Sony education deal. The Samsung will have another great deal soon. Enjoy your turf. I’ve spent the better part of the last few months sitting in a beautiful garden on a good lawn under shady trees and now I’m back home in front of my oled and stunned at how good it looks. But tomorrow I will wish I was back at that beach house under those trees

  • +1

Really want something bigger like 77", but the price is too good.

    • Exactly my thought so I pulled the trigger on this one despite considering a 77” CS!

      • I saw your comment above and the response from others. and decided to wait :)

        • I was thinking if I get this 65 now, I can upgrade to a 77 in the future and there will be a place in the house for the 65. If I get a 77 now, the only room it would fit in is the living room :)

Price is too good to pass on but good on you able to resist the temptation :p

  • Kinda regret buying the 65” CS plus LG SN4 sound bar for $2481 now :(

  • +1

    Cheers krim!! upvoted!

  • Should probably wait for G3's, about to come out soon-ish

    • May be a while for equivalent price drops from what I recall of previous models

Hope to see significant sale discounts even on release like other brands or similar retailer online sale

  • Has any upgraded from a previous gen OLED to this and is it worth doing?

I’ve got a perfectly fine 65” B8 with a PS5 and I’m trying to justify buying this for VRR and better brightness.

    • Not worth it unless you absolutely NEED specific features.

      • HODL until microLED arrives at mainstream pricing!

        We can do it!

    • Gaming def better with VRR and better brightness.

      • Thanks @serpserpserp

    • +1

I just upgraded from the B8 to this G2 deal. I have seen a pretty obvious improvement of picture quality, brightness and quite a big step up with my PS5 games.

      • Thanks @realdeal86

  • +1

    Deal of life dont hodl

  • So much for inflation and rate rises slowing people's spending!

  • Is it still a good buy without the AFTERHOURSJAN coupon code for another 10% off?

    • +3

Still an okay deal but unless you urgently need a TV, would wait for next deal.

Told my parents about this last night as they are in the market for a 65" OLED TV, they slept over it and called me in the morning to go ahead. I said I told you it ends at 8am.

They are patiently waiting for the next one.

      • +1

Thanks for that. Realised i didn't have a general LG OLED alert saved so didn't see it until this morning. Have a plasma around 13 years old, it does the job but wanting to finally upgrade.

I'll wait for the next deal.

  • Is it worth upgrading from a Sony Bravia 65" KDL65W850C to this?

    • +1

Absolutely - you'll notice a huge difference between this 4K OLED and your edge-lit 1080p panel!
      Do it!

    • +1

      Yes - next sale

      🥰

  • For those on backorder, has anyone managed to increase the priority? I've been told middle of march, which is ridiculous
