QD-OLED is shiny though 🤩Firmware 1430.1 just released in the US, should reach here within 2 weeks. Fixes all the Game HDR issues (14xx firmware issue) and the Tizen OS lag. For video content you force on rec.2020 for HDR and everything comes out fine enough until they issue a fix.
Panel/chassis warping reflects the thin design and people not being careful and following instructions as it's a very thin TV. Acknowledged as a design flaw in terms of ease of setup, addressed in the 2023 model for those who can't figure out how to carefully setup the TV.
Rigging TV benchmark tests
They all do this at launch, and they fixed the EOTF curves on most modes for HDR, these are really easy to calibrate out of the box with settings tweaks to get an incredible image.
Peak brightness was reduced, but it's 1250 peak when calibrated, and the 2023 model will be 1500 nit. Perceptually that's more like 10% difference due to how your eyes work.

If the TV was significantly strengthened in the new model, which it is, their is a bigger issue at hand than just people not setting it up right.
I've heard it being damaged in a variety of ways. Even in the box.
That might be true, but having personally installed one, I can understand how most people wound up with a bent panel: they've put too much weight through the thinner parts of the panel while removing it from the box and installing the TV.
That's probably the biggest issue overall for mine, the firmware stuff is getting ironed out, exactly as I and many others mentioned it would be. Samsung broke some features in an effort to fix others, and worked through that.
What people see as outright incompetence, is instead typically the result of a time crunch when a feature needs to be re-engineered to work consistently. Even then, the Game HDR (profanity) was mostly defeatable through settings changes, and that was by far the biggest firmware issue left.
If you can understand and handle the panel install, this is the best value TV on the market.

I just brought a S95B and experienced the HDR flickering issue when gaming.
I also had audio problems where the audio would drop out every 30 Seconds or so.I was using my PC, and I fixed these problems by using a new HDMI 2.1 cable (didn't realise my old one wasn't 2.1) plugging into the EARC port which fixed my HDR and was completely Stable.
I also fixed the audio issue by changing my Audio output on my PC to my TV and setting it to Dolby Atmos mode.
I don't have a sound bar (yet) so I can't speak to any issues with them but that's how I fixedy audio and HDR issues.
I am getting the audio dropping out everyday. My soundbar is plugged into HDMI 3 port, but S95B keep showing a warning said I connect it to the wrong port and drop out the connection , I have to unplug the HDMI cable and plug it back to make it stable. But it comes back next time I switch on the TV
Yeah wow that's a pretty strange issue to have actually, not something I expected would happen.
Does the same issue happen in other ports? (i'm not clear if you need to plug soundbars into eARC ports, i've never had one haha)
@ForbiddenCouponJutsu: port 3 is the eARC port and the message keep showing I need to connect it to port 3. That is really weird. I haven't tried other ports though
I haven't kept up with the tech over the last couple of years - can anyone advise how the picture compares with current LG's, Sony's, and what I considered the benchmark Panasonic's OLED from a few years ago?
Panasonic will probably still better match a HDR mastering monitor in some respects, but the S95B has 90% rec.2020 coverage, where the Panasonic would be 78% like most WOLEDs.
Sony use the same panel as the S95B on their flagship: the A95K. Biggest key difference is lack of Dolby Vision support on the Samsung, but if you don't trust Samsung's processor to boost the HDR10 content appropriately, you can get external devices that transcode it appropriately.
