What do you guys reckon about the below offer from JB .

    https://ibb.co/NWWGyD2

Should i go ahead with it.

    • +1

what phone did you trade with?

      • I traded in note 10+ and received 120 value for that. So further 120 would be coming off this

        • I traded S21U 128gb for $500, personally, Im not a fan of bulky case such as Otterbox as the phone is already big so i bought 2 cases from Nillkin from Aliexpress for $35

    • How did you manage to get $1550 for the phone? does it include the $120 for the traded phone?

      • Phone will be further discounted by 120. So final price for the phone will be 1430.

I asked for a price match for Costco price.

So i got it down to 1850. Rep's condition was to include some accessories, only then he can make it 1850.

        So now

        1850 - 300 for trade in - 120 phone value= 1430.

        • How did you get the price match and the trade in discounts. aren't they different links?

    • Dammit I forgot to check if jb had otterboxes. But dunno how pedantic they are about the warranty process

    • How did you get the charger down to $40?

      • Online rep stated that some accessories must be added to get me the phone for $1850. So he came back with those accessories already discounted.

    • Did you negotiate this in store?

  • +1

Wouldn't JB have the best S23U deal at the moment?

    Take the 512GB for example,
    Initial price: $1949 - $300 (trade in bonus) = $1649
Using say 14% JB Gift Cards, it would be $1418.14?

Then you get a further $250 voucher to spend on some accessories afterwards?

Or am I missing something? Do you have to send in your phone or do you just need to pay a $60 admin fee like Samsung website?
Apparently they have a limit of 5 GC's during online transactions so that's something else to consider I guess.

    • You have to get the email from JB hifi and they will send you a postal label to be send back to their company within 7 days of getting the voucher.

    • +1

Where are you getting 14% JB Gift cards?

      • I'm getting it via Members Advantage

  • As listed above i am happy to share my link(I don't think it is user specific) to whoever is ready to buy and take advantage of it. Phone is offered at $1850(green color) + charger $40 + otterbox cover black $40=$1930 altogether.

You can then add all your discounts like trade in discount abd voucher to bring it down.

I have changed my mind. Link will be expiring at 11.59pm AEST tonight.

    • I'm happy to take it if it's just for the accessories lol. I already pre ordered the phone

    • Link is shared with someone.

    • Shame about the expiry, and should have printed out a copy yesterday while it was still up. Anyway will go into JB today and see if they will accept.

    Hi all.
I just want to share the deal we had in JB hifi Melbourne
we asked to pre order the Samsung s23 ultra 512G
    Plus I trade in my note 10plus 4G online = $200 voucher
Bonus voucher for pre ordering s23 ultra =$300

So in total I got $500 off the original price of the ultra and paid $1449

Just be mindful the online trading for phone is very fiddly and time consuming, so I suggest to do it online at home and then bring the voucher in to store. It would make the process quicker.

GOOD luck everyone!! Can't wait for my new phone!!

You also need to be in store to get the $250 gift voucher which can be used next time you in JB hifi and can not be used with the phone.

    • Are you saying you can get trade in voucher online and still go to store to pre-order and use $300 voucher there?

      • Yep that's what I did too.

You get an email with the original trade in barcode plus in the email you click on whether you want to claim the extra trade in for 23/+ or ultra and you'll get sent another barcode for that $200/$300 extra.

    • +1

what the amount on invoice? $1949 or $1449

    • Did you get an update on the invoiced amount?

  • Does the $100 gift card that comes with the S23 have a long (12+ months) expiry that can be used on anything?
(Just contrasting with the Samsung $100 voucher which needs to be used immediately on nothing useful to me.)

    • +1

Mine was standard physical JB card with long expiry. $250

  • a pre-order price promise

    What's that?

    • +1

If the price of your pre-order drops before release day we'll refund you the difference shortly after release.

      • I wonder if this applies only to jb price dropping or any competitor (which you could price match to)

  • Has anyone moved from S22 to S23. I am still thinking if I shall move from S22 Ultra to S23 Ultra or not.

    • I wouldn't bother unless you have the cash to burn or has tax implications. Only minor improvements on cameras and better processor, the rest are all the same/similar.

    • Go in person to check the phone out.

The the phone is less curved and should have better internal cooling system (vapour chamber). Apart from this, there is also the faster ssd performance.

Those are the big ones apart from the obligatory CPU gpu and camera improvements from the previous year.

Upgrading because it works out to be roughly 500 to upgrade to the new device via jbhifi due to the increased trade in value, which saves you approximately 200 assuming you don't want Samsung's Care Plus. If you wanted it, you can get it for free via their store, but you'd get almost 200$ less for your S22U vs jbhifi

  • So if I do a pre-order in store I can use the GC for the pre-ordered phone?

    • No guarantees, but as T&C state, it's upon completion of transactions or within two weeks.

To my knowledge, it can't be used for the same invoice.

      YMMV ultimately

  • Anyone else got the email from Squaretrade to send in the phone within 7 days or they'll charge?

    • Its fine. There is allowance for any order that is a preorder phone. Different once phone is in stock. In that case, square trade dont even make allowance if the store has to order the phone and there is a delay in delivery.

      • Yeah, would be nice if they stated a date range as my delivery states like 2 weeks after the phone is released..

OP just got an email from jb saying my order is on the way, can't be that it's despatched..

  • Did anyone availing this offer in store manage to get a case included.

    • +1

I managed to beat it down to $1870 (down from $1949), and get a official Samsung leather case for $50 (down from $63), and official Samsung screen protector for $13 (down from $18). $1933 total.

Try giving them a call since they were able to give me a better deal than the live chat.

      • What'd you match/reference to get $1870?

        • I told I would most likely buy from Costco, and asked if they could make a deal that's closer to Costco's price. They will quote that it's a subscription service, but I still insisted on possibly edging closer to that price if say I added extra accessories (I was gonna buy anyway).

      • You called up JB? so still better than going into store?

        • Haven't tried going in store, it depends on who you're talking to. I did something like 3 live chats and it went like this:

1st one: Phone for $1949, Case for $45, Protector for $13
2nd one: Phone for $1895, Case for $50, Protector for $15
3rd one: Phone for $1896, Case for $50, Protector for $14

Seemed like they were set on a $1895ish limit for the phone, but then I called up and they gave me the deal I have now. The sweetener was asking if I could get a lower price on the phone if I added accessories (the phone was initially haggled down to $1890).

  • Is anyone having issues generating a QR code for the trade in?

      • Thanks for this, how annoying. On the day that I secure a decent deal with JB over the phone. Hopefully if I screenshot my deal and show them tomorrow they can reinstate it once it expires…

  • My 512 GB S23 Ultra order has been dispatched by JB

    • Mine got delivered today, but odd bit I’m not complaining!

  • Just walked past a JB and they didnt even advertise the $700 giftcard offer. Seems like they really weren't advertising the telstra deals at all

    • Is that a 12 month plan?

      • No 24 month. Not as good as last year.

        • Reckon TGG‘s plan is better.

  • May well be worth your time to try finding users that have access to 50% off Samsung vouchers and buy a code from them. Would end up still being significantly cheaper than any other deal available.

eg. 1tb S23 Ultra would be $1324 + cost of code.

  • +1

anyone who already ordered with jb hi Fi. Could you check your invoice amount? The price of phone is the original price or the price after trade-in value and trade-in bonus?

    • i bought s22U from JB last year deal with $850 off when sign-up with Telstra 12 months, the invoice showed full amount so it should be the same

    • I'd also like to know this.

    • Same I'd like to know as well

      • +2

Invoice is full price minus the trade in bonus.

eg for me it was $1949 for the S23U 512gb less $300 = $1649 shown on the invoice

Source: picked mine up today and received the invoice via email.

        • Thanks for that!

  • Does anyone know how much JB will charge if you opt for trade-in but don't send them the phone?

    • You will get charged what the trade in value but you will still get to use and keep the bonus gift card

      • So u get to keep both $300 tradein bonus for ultra plus $250 jb gift card?

      • So there's no additional admin fee, like there is for Samsung ($60 admin fee)?

        • There is $60 admin fee with JB as well

          • @DontNeedThis: So you get to keep the $300 bonus, dont need to pay this back?
If the trade in value is $13, i just have to pay back $13 + $60 admin fee for not sending it?

Where are u getting the $60 admin fee from , its not listed on their website

            • @vongz: I've heard the $60 admin fee from friends. Not personal experience. You're right, it's can't be found in the Ts&Cs

          • @DontNeedThis: I heard people got blacklisted from previous trade in deals, anyone have any idea?

            • @Pursue4: The device might get blacklisted, but I doubt the person gets blacklisted.

  • Does TGG match trade in bonus offer?

  • Just got an email from jb telling me the phone was released early and is ready to be picked up. Can anyone confirm that's legit?

    • +1

Mine arrived by post yesterday, so I'd say so

    • +1

Managed to pick up my preorder (S23U 512gb green + accessories) today

    • I got an SMS saying pick up on 17th but i called my store and it was there. I just picked it up ultra 512 green brisbane

      • Did you order in store? website? or over call? Wondering if they issued you the $250 giftcard as well?

        • I ordered online last saturday and no gift card..It will be emailed

  • Is this the best deal for outright purchase? It feels like it to me but only 45 upvotes??
Samsung edu site offer has 100+ up votes but seems not as good of a deal?
    Am i missing something?

    • Officeworks is the best deal if you're trading in and they're taking your phone. They didn't take my phone (Pixel 7 Pro), so this was the next best. If you're not trading in, costco's better.

      • Why officeworks better for tradein? They value higher?

        • Yes, they value about $100 higher.

          • @DontNeedThis: s21ultra .. jb value it at 500, ow 550.. 50 higher.
And it seems that jb 250 giftcard is jb giftcard (?), while ow actually gives 250 mastercard debit ? better..

what im not sure is how the trade in and trade in bonus work.. never done this before.
when i submit the application online, do they give the trade in credit and trade in bonus straight away which I can use to purchase the s23u?

            • +1

@OzFrugie: When you do the application, a jb gift card equal to the value of your phone will be sent to you. A separate email gives you the option to choose the s23 model that you want, if you choose s23u, another $300 gift card will be sent to you. You can then use both to purchase the phone. And they will give you the $250 gc after the purchase.

              • @DontNeedThis: Just to confirm, if i do trade in but dont send in device it works out like this:
                S23 ultra 512gb.
                1949 - $240 = 1706 (60 admin fee)
                +250 JB gc

            • @OzFrugie: JB are giving extra $300 on top of trade in value in addition to $250 gc

  • Got my S23+ today and $250 gift card, must have been an mistake, not complaining :) extra $100

  • FYI I submitted my pre-order trade-in yesterday morning and I've been granted an extension to 28 days to return the phone. It's now been reduced to 5 days (they must receive it within 7 days), presumably as they now have it in stock. Will be going into the store tomorrow to place the order and will be interesting to see if I get it straight away. Probably will depend on model, spec, and colour.

    BTW I'm getting a S23U 512GB Green.

    • S23U 512GB Green.

      Got this today.

  • Anyone who ordered the phone online and picked up received their gift card yet? Was told when collecting in store that the online team will send it via email

  • Can anyone confirm if you dont send in your phone as trade in they will back charge you just $60 non send-in fee ? And you still recieve the bonus credit ?

  • +1

Got s23 Ultra 512GB with price breakdown
    Ori $1949
Trade in bonus(Not gonna send the phone) -$240
    10% gift card -$165
Claim TRS going overseas soon - $150
    Gift card +$250

    Total $1394 + $250 gift card

Probably could've asked for a free charger or case, but don't want to push it as I'm already a pain by paying with 20 gift cards already. Pretty happy, at least it won't go down to this price for the next 6 months.

    • Where did you get the gift card

      • It was TCN gift card from last year

    • Do you know when the phones will be arriving? I ordered mine yesterday and it says to stay tuned for emails due to preorder date being 17th.

      • Mine says 17th, but planning to pick it up on 22nd cause that's the earliest i could claim TRS

  • +1

Received mine today. postie just dropped it in my parcel box :| thought it needed to be signed for. lucky the case from Amazon came at the same time too.

  • Hello everyone,

I recently had a bad experience with SquareTradeUp and I need some advice on what I can do to resolve it.

I ordered a trade-in with SquareTradeUp for my old phone and was supposed to receive a gift card in return. However, due to some verification issues, my order was canceled and I was unable to complete the trade-in.

What's more, my account was deactivated and I am now unable to use the trade-in portal in the future. When I contacted their support team, they informed me that they were unable to verify the device and that they cannot reactivate my account without further verification.

I also missed out on promotion from JB Hi-Fi because of the delay caused by SquareTradeUp's verification process. I have tried to reach out to them multiple times, but they have stopped responding to my emails.

I am not sure what my options are at this point. Can anyone suggest what I can do to resolve this issue? Should I approach an ombudsman? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you.
