$21 extra for 256GB SSD skew.

    • Added into Description. Thanks

  • In saying that, it's probably better to buy something like an MX500 500GB as it only comes with soldered eMMC storage.

    • +1

Yes, this model you can add more storage of your own.

supports expandable storage by Mirco SD card up to 2TB, support M.2 SSD (2280) up to 4TB,Support 2.5" SATA HDD/SSD up to 4TB (The Height of disk ≤9.5mm)

  • Is it good for HA? Pi is over priced now and no stock…

    • +2

Yes, and more if you want. Proxmox docker containers. Mine also runs win 11.

  • That VGA port hurts my eyes. What year again is it??

    • +8

      Whats wrong with having options?

      • +1

This should have been 2nd lan port instead

        • You know an Ethernet port takes like a heap of bandwidth and traces and trace design… a VGA port takes not a lot of work. Like I could understand if you had said DisplayPort or something, but 2nd Lan port instead of a VGA port… I think you don't quite understand anything about motherboard design.

should also highlight fanless (what QUIETER means?) in case someone cares.

  • Is this good for OPNsense?

    • +7

Finally people started mention OPNsense first and not pfSense. My job is done!

Yeh I wouldn’t call this ‘Mele’ mini pc a deal compared to what you’ve shared or any of the Dell Optiplex 7060/7070 deals going of late.

Sure it’s $40 off, but it’s still a bad price IMHO

      • They are refurbs though, though agree this pc still seems a bit under powered to do much

        • +1

More than enough for 4K hardware transcoding thanks to the UHD graphics.

      • +5

The referb is 51.5 percent more than the new pc, though. Not sure how are these two comparable.

People who buy the mini pc probably wants it because of the power efficiency as well.

So if you are running a Plex server on a chip with 10W TDP, as opposed to a 95W TDB, that make a whole of a lot of savings in power costs in 4–5 years.

i don't think this should be downvoted (5 times as of now)
for certain applications, refurbished OptiPlex 7060 can be something to consider as an alternative of this Mele N5105
(refurbished) OptiPlex 7070 has different target consumers

  • This would work great for WFH - triple monitors - 2x4K + 1xVGA.

    I have a Mele (https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B08XW9Z7P1/ref=ppx_yo_d…) - and it hasn't missed a beat.
I have set it up with 2x2K + 1xVGA displays. Always on for over a year now.

    Amazingly low TDP.
