Does partial payment with sipcoin promo $ invalidate the cashback?

    • +2

I guess you didn’t read dot point 3?

Purchases via the BWS mobile app.

Sip coins can only be redeemed via BWS app

      • One can use SIP coins with in-store purchases as well via barcode which you scan on checkout. Doesn’t help in this case of course.

$30 slab of Furphy Lager after cashback. Reeeally can't complain

    • +16

If you drink the lot, the price and name will be pronounced the same!

      • +1

        Excellent insight thank you

        • $Furty of Thirphy
          Reeeally

    • Can you share how you got to that price?

Original price for me is $58, can't even get close to $30 after cash back.

  • +1

Just noticed cashback for BWS excludes champagne.
The other liquor stores include champagne.
I was thinking of getting Veuve Clicquot. Price has increased recently to $99.

  • 2 x 700ml bottles of label 5 whisky came to $31.50 each after cashback - thanks op

  • after a cheap voddy, $10 sipcoin off Mishka becomes $32.. shame it's increased by $5 in the last year or so.
Cashback prob not bad either but prefer getting the discount immediately i guess.

    • U can’t use sip coin for cashback to buy tho :(

      • I know mate, weighing up hwat's better.
both ~25% off but sip coin prob better if BWS is pre-gst for cashback

        • BWS includes GST
..25% is actually 25%.. strange ..but true.

    • +2

      don't drink cheap alcohol mate

      • +1

not wasting Belvedere on bloody mary's MATE

        • +4

          good stuff makes good cocktails

          • @dirtyhen: Agree mate but seriously can't taste the vodka with tomato juice so it's a waste.

Belvedere was a good pick up last time for ($45- vintage cellars $55 - $10 CR).

            • +1

@G-rig: my fav, last time we all had Belvedere and all my friends loved it so much

  • +1

great found eagle rare 10 for $84 on clearance

    • $91 at my local in ACT. What State are you?

      • +1

I recently noticed that First Choice was doing a particular slab for $41 in Melbourne and $47 in Canberra, which is a much bigger difference than could be explained by the container deposit scheme. The price we pay for living the good life in The Capital.

      • $91 here in Vic at my local but great call out and value buy.

      • Vic but I had to check a bunch of stores until I found one on clearance

    • $91 in WA. Another store had $96

    • I'm jealous, can't find any in qld

      • Initially it was showing as full price in WA too. After changing locations several times, the clearance price came up. However the prices in Qld stayed at full price.

BWS website drives me insane. There's so many things out of stock (find me nearby) and I can't seem to find a way to filter them out.

Eventually see something I want and I can't buy it. Pointless. These deals are only good for mainstream beers (generally) cause trying to find a decent bargain on a craft case takes an hour.

I might be the idiot here and there may be an obvious fix but I can't seem to find it…

    • +1

Yes I've experienced the same with the out of stock at local store stuff… haven't found a way to filter.

It's not such an issue with a superstore model, where each store carries almost all lines with a big storeroom out the back. It's anyone's guess what a small local BWS does or doesn't have on the shelf. BWS web developers take note!

    • +2

It is crap. I've had a store call me to say they can't fulfil my order but can't cancel it, so I have to call their central call centre and cancel it myself.

      • +1

        That's cooked!

      • This is true for delivery orders, for whatever reason, but for pickup orders they do have the option to cancel. However, best practice -especially for delivery- is to offer a substitution from similar products that are in stock.

    • +1

Is it just me, or a lot of their stuff so expensive that it's basically the same price at Dan's even with the cashback? I don't normally drink wine, but every single bottle I've taken a look at is within a dollar of Dan's price even after you apply the 25% off.

      • BWS is usually more expensive than others. There may be the odd special or clearance.
We have family in country WA where BWS is the main liquor store. It has been convenient for us to buy as gifts from BWS and get them to collect. Otherwise we probably wouldn't shop at BWS.
Delivery from other liquor chains have arrived broken or not on time.

    • Useless website.. can't even maths

      https://ibb.co/12FwxMy

      • Yep. $24.80 for one, or special of 2 for $50

        🤦

  • thank you for sharing

  • Do you get 25% off the full price or only pre GST price from BWS?

    • +3

My one tracked as the full price inc GST

      • thanks!

      • +2

        Same for me.

25% cashback for full price (incl GST)

  • +3

Asahi 500ml cans 6packs 2 for 40 equals $60 for a case after cashback. Not too bad

    • Do you know if BWS stocks the ones brewed in Japan?

      • +1

If they are cans they should be the ones brewed in Japan. Just avoid the bottles

Edit: In the details of the cans it says "Bottled in: Japan" Vs Bottles "Country of Origin: Australia"

Not sure why the terms are different but seems safe enough to assume they're brewed in Japan

      • +1

Bought tall cans today and they are brewed in Japan. Best before 7.11.23.

        • +1

Cheers, yep just picked up and ditto Japan, best before 26.08.23

  • Still waiting on tracking. Order placed at 2am as couldnt sleep! CR usually quick to track…

    • I ordered just after midnight and it took about 30 mins to track

  • Woah 1l baileys cream is $58 now? Never realised its so expensive now

  • Thanks!

    Tracked in 10 mins.

  • Both of my claims for bws cashback from previous deals are still pending even though it has gone pass the date. I’m not buying stuff from bws anymore. Have no issue with liquorland or FirstChoice

    • +2

Did you raise it with Cashrewards? They're usually good with this stuff.

      • You have to wait a week before raising an issue - even though if you don't get it done within say 24 hours it's not gonna happen.

So you need to set calendar reminders for getting cashback on booze you never really needed but bought because the cashback was too good.

Takes the fun out of it. I'm currently waiting on a pretty big one. Will they honour it? Maybe.

    • FWIW I got mine pretty quick. Set a reminder to raise a claim in a week. Hassle.

    • I have raised with Cashrewards. Waiting for them to get back to me. Transactions were tracked but not approved. So far my experience with Cashrewards have been good this is the first time I have issue.

  • +1

My rewards card had a 10X points promo for BWS too, worth checking for a few extra $ back.

  • +4

Cheers OP. Bought 5 of this for $75 - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/755668 - cashback has already tracked

    • +5

I don't need any more whiskey , I have way too much. Bought 5. Thanks.

      • lol..same but couldn't resist a bargain… this is good value imo works out to $15 per pack - DM is selling for $30

  • I seem to always have problems making bws work with cashrewards. Again the sale went through but didnt get an email. Can i still claim it?

  • +1

Here is the list of clearance. Only wine and spirits in WA. List varies when you change locations.
Click "Show me more" to get the full list.

    https://bws.com.au/productgroup/clearance

    • Any idea why there is not the same list for beer?

      • I changed locations to other states but still no beer clearance. Perhaps their beers are selling well

        • I can always find clearance beers by changing store and sorting from cheapest to most expensive but it is a very tedious process!

          • @DoctorArd: BWS website is crap! "$ Low to High" isn't working consistently. Sometimes in correct order but not at the moment.
There is beer clearance but not showing up under "clearance".
I typed Furphy and the lager is on clearance for $41.90 in one store in WA and $50.50 in another store.
Seems to be the only beer on clearance but with different prices.

            • @trixieb: In defence of the website, the app is jankier.

              =D

              • @Xonk: You reminded me to open the cooler on the app. Not working yesterday and now. Doesn't always work, even on different phones.

                • @trixieb: Look, all it needs is to be burned with thermite and rebuilt from the ground up. Other than that, it's perfectly fine.

                • +1

                  @trixieb: I won like 9x.

                  Multiple $10 wine vouchers
$10 Spirits and there was Gin from $50 on clearance for $26…so I got it for $16.

                  I won a 6pk superdry
And 4 single beer cans, plus a CC and dry!

The last 3-4 I haven't done anything tho lol

  • +1

No tracking from this morning yet

  • +1

Still no tracking, only tracks my clicks. Will have to make claim.

  • Easier just not to bother picking it up

  • Does BWS usually have tracking issues?

I've only purchased from Vintage Cellars and Liquorland and they tracked straightaway.

  • +1

    Thanks, tracked in 5 mins.

  • Tracking should be fast guys. Once you click out of Cashrewards, do not click out to any other site (stay on BWS) and also do not use or activate other tracking affiliate partners such as Honey, Shopback etc

  • Make sure you check your Everyday Rewards to see if you have a BWS boost as well!

  • +1

Stack with 3x everyday rewards points on any purchase, or 10x points if you spend over $100 (until Feb 14). I just saw this after I bought $120 of booze so I called them and they said they'll give me 10x the points after I boosted

    • Targeted offer, just received. Got similar in one account - spend $70 or more for 10x points.
Another account didn't get any BWS offers

  • @tightarse I've a min $70 spend for bonus points in Everyday Rewards. There is no cashback on champagne but can I still add champagne in the order with other items that are eligible for cashback?

T&Cs: You may not earn Cashback on GST, freight, delivery fees and taxes.
Is GST included as some members have mentioned they received cashback on GST?

    Thanks

    • +1

      No

  • Edit @tightarse Another question - Is cashback still eligible when Everyday Rewards members get 10% off with 6 bottles of wine?

    • +1

      Yes

  • Anyone having issues with checkout?

    • Not when I checked out about two hours ago

  • Anyone tried the cheapy Hofler or One Classic lagers?

    • I bought six of the One tins and gonna crack one today. I'm driving and I love the idea of a light beer that pretends not to be a light beer.

Brewed in Germany though - Likely just repackaged supermarket beer from over there. Which isn't bad, tbh.

  • Purchase today. Tracked in about 10 minutes….

Now gotta wait till 30th May, and then another probably a week after that to lodge a claim for the cashback still pending.

My last 5 BWS cashback had to be followed up, well after the proposed payout date.

Liquorland on the other hand, much, much faster
