    Thats a chonky laptop

  • The G15 is an entry level chassis. The internals are good but from having owned a G15 chassis it is very, very plastic to what is out there at a similar price point.

    • Could you suggest something that is similar in specs and price that has better quality? Looking for my young bloke for a gaming / school laptop.

      • Almost be worth considering 2 different options. Get a cheap lighter laptop for the school stuff and a better PC/laptop for the gaming.

        A few good options depending on what he needs for school. (Windows 10/11 check the CPU).

    The price gap between 3060 laptops and 3070 is ridiculous.

    Thanks OP. This entry level G15 comes out at $1125 which seem like decent value for a Ryzen5 6600H, 16GB, 512GB, GTX3050 etc

      No thats terrible..

      • Not many better options around for that money, but feel free to post a link if you know of something?

          I’m not sure with laptop specs vs price but if you pick the 8gb/256gb on your link, then there’s a code to take a further $200 off, making it $985.

            @ozbxoxo: Can't see the code you're talking about…

            Edit: Oh wait, I see it. Good price. Don't think 8/256 is a good idea, though. With OPs vouchers it comes down to $935.51.

            You can add extra RAM and replace the SSD with a bigger one, but the cost would go above the factory 16/512 version pretty quickly.

            • @wombat81: Yeah, 8GB RAM gets chewed up pretty quick these days, and games are starting to expect 16GB. Not to mention that 200GiB of storage (ex OS) evaporates like whiskey at an RSL in Darwin. You'd be fine if you want basic stuff plus some indie/old games, but when we're talking a $140 difference it's not worth the savings (like, paying the extra would stave off replacement for at least a couple of years, effectively saving your a whole lot more money).

              In this day and age, I could deplete 8GB RAM with just one web browser =P .

  • did anyone buy this? does it overheat?
