  • Can i add LTE to this model. Or do u have any other ones that include LTE support. Cheers.

    • Hi Safoan,

You can add LTE card in this laptop.

We have a few Lenovo Fibocom L850-GL LET Card, that can install for customer's request.

Please contact us on ebay when making order.

      Thank you

Pity the RAM can't be upgraded.

  • Keen for that slime pen 💦💦

Don't worry, when you grow up you'll be able to make your own.

      • Damn, I wasn't planning on doing that.

  • Looking at a cheap laptop for home admin. Don't know much about computers. Can anyone comment is it a good deal or wait for a Chromebook on sale?

    • 8th gen ThinkPad with touchscreen, in good condition, with decent specs for the price. Pretty good deal I think. I personally wouldn't get it for myself because of the 16:9 screen, but lots of people don't mind it so there's that.

You can install ChromeOS on it too. I reckon this will be built much better than a $350 Chromebook.

    • Warranty period is only 3 months. Other ebay sellers of refurbished laptops offer 6 or 12 months if you want peace of mind for longer.

    • If you don't need the portability and have space for a 24" screen, I would look for one of the refurbished desktop deals. Some come with add-on monitors for $125. You will find this is more usable than a laptop.

    • I've had multiple chromebooks in the past and now i just use ex windows running ChromeOS.

I actually purchased a X1 yoga Gen3 for this same seller 9mths back and threw chrome on it straight away and it's snappy as. Spec wise its near identical to this X380 yoga and if i didn't have the x1 i'd jump on this.

Updates consistently just like chromebook and all functions work as normal. X380 is slated to updates untill 2028 should you decide to install ChromeOS Flex

      • Thank you. I have only used the chromeOS demo in shops. So far I felt it meets my simple needs, but do you know what if I wanted to convert back to windows? The machine come with an OEM version pre-installed but don't think I get the product keys.

        • Sorry i can't help on the saving window predicament and i don't think chrome do duel boot anymore if i remember correctly.

For me chrome meets all my needs

You may be able to boot from Usb or SD but not sure on that. I do slightly recall that booting the install still ran chrome so you had the opportunity to try before the full install

          • @wpw: Thanks mate. Did a bit search and it appears the OEM product keys are digitally stored in bios nowadays so I think it should be ok to restore back to windows if needed. Initially I wasn't keen to get a 4 year old laptop but this option to convert to chrome OS had me seeing more opportunities.

eBay seller looks credible with a couple actual buyers here with no major issues raised is a good start too.

            • @Andysjunks: You'll be surprised at how well chrome OS runs on this machine and wont look back. Been using them since 2015.
              Great seller Happy purchasing.

  • watch out for the hinges on these

  • What about the battery life on these ones ?

    • With such old laptops (this was released in 2018 so could be up to 4+ years old), I always assume the battery life is poor. It's very easy to replace batteries in ThinkPads so it's not too big a deal if it needs replacement unlike e.g. a sealed Surface Laptop 1.

    • Hi SrMoure,

We have tested the battery in windows battery report, battery health is ranged from 70%-85% of its design capacity.

And battery is very easy to purchase and replace if you need it last longer.

      Thank you

    Soldered RAM - pass!

  • I received it today, everything looks good!

    • No a problem. Thank you!

  • Mine arrived today too and so far I'm really happy with it - quality looks really good, with no real blemishes!

Seller was super helpful changing a delivery address at the last minute too.

  • Bought one, just got around to opening it up and playing around today. I'm happy so far, seems in very neat condition and solid build, my only issue is I can't seem to get the included stylus pen to work. Started poking around in settings but doesn't seem obvious, I've never had a stylus/pen device before so not sure if this one needs battery (it appears to be rechargeable inside the laptop), or needs to be bluetooth paired?

Before I go down a researching / driver installing rabbit hole, anyone else who bought one can you tell me if your stylus just worked "out of the box"? Or if you had to fool with it what did you do?

    • Hi Evilalpaca,

Please contact our eBay customer to help you about this issue.

      Thank you
