SureDeal take payment of the $2, Sure Telecom only accept the voucher for this offer. Visa or Mastercard details are mandatory only when signing directly with Sure Telecom.

  • If this deal wasn't so poorly worded it would probably be up there in the "Top Deals"
Also the steps required to buy it,why do i have to give my credit card details twice?

  • +2

Rep, your poorly worded offer is damaging what reputation Suretel had. Why not write a FAQ? As for the timeline, try something like this?

31/10/12 Last day to redeem Suredeal voucher

Let R be voucher redemption date.

R+10 Latest expected arrival of SIM by post
R+30 Last day to activate SIM, online or by phone

I think you're confusing people by talking about two vouchers, the Suredeal and the Suretel one. Unless there really is only one, in which case I'm confused too, and you deserve all the suspicion heaped upon your deal.

And don't forget the other questions about any charge to port away, any recurring charges, APN, tethering, microSIM, etc.

  • Half decent deal but with the rep's previous issues/avoiding questions etc in the past, I would not trust this company. Neg from me.

  • +1

Please look at the Deal and read carefully, it clearly states'Please allow 10 business days from redemption date for your item to be shipped'

Mobiles capable of wireless hot spots can utilise the data.

There is no charge to port away.

Micro Sim can be selected upon signup.

Last day to activate your sim is before your voucher expires.

Who is talking about 2 vouchers? There is one voucher from SureDeal and you use that voucher to sign up to Sure Telecom Pre-Paid Mobile Sim plan.

Happy to answer all questions that customers have but please be sure to read the offer carefully.

    • So that means we have to redeem the voucher at least 10 days before 31/10/12 to allow for the SIM to get to us first? So the expiry date of the voucher is actually effectively 21/10/12?

Or should I just redeem the voucher straight away (well, when the deal closes) so that I have the SIM in hand and then I can sign up anytime before 31/10/12?

It's no good telling us to read the conditions like a broken record. If lots of people are confused, there is a problem with the writing.

    • Thanks for answering my questions contained within the above reply.

  • +1

Worst company to deal with, Had 2 postpaid plan with them, as soon as I raised complaint to TIO, they asked me to leave their network.

  • +1

Redeemed the voucher which was send through email through sure telecom
No need to put the cc details in the form given…leave it blank
It accepts the form just like that.

    • +1

I thought you couldn't redeem this until after the deal closed…

      • You may apply for the offer with your voucher code but the application will not be processed until the SureDeal Offer has expired.

    • This is correct. Visa or Mastercard details are not required if you have bought a SureDeal Voucher.

  • so am I able to redeem the voucher early before???? and then sign up and activate the service before 31/10/12???

if i activate the service on 31/10/12, is the service last till 30/11/12?

    • You can make the pre-paid mobile application through http://www.suretelecom.com.au/main/page_self_service_prepaid…
using the voucher. However the Voucher Code cannot be validated until the SureDeal campaign is completed.

If you activate the service successfully on the 31st October 2012, it will give you 30 days credit from that day.

      • i'm still confused, how many vouchers are there in total?

is the service activate when we redeem the voucher?

or activate anytime we want when we received the sim-card??

        • 1 Voucher per person.

No, the service is not active when you make the application to redeem the voucher.

You must activate the service within the expiry of the voucher.

        • I mean… are there 2 vouchers in total?

one voucher we received through email by suredeal.

Another voucher we received through mail with sim by Sure Telecom Mobile.

Did I get it right?? or wrong-way??

        • Where did you get 2 from?

1 voucher from suredeal for paying $2 to suredeal. You then redeem the voucher on Sure Telecom's site and you receive the sim in the mail.

        • so the sim is activated when I redeem the voucher on Sure Telecom's site, and it's activated during the shipping?

so we will only able to use it with 20-25 days ONLY… right??
(I can't imagine if it gets delay or missing with 20+days delivery)

        • No, it is only activated when you have the mobile sim. You have 30 days from when you activate it after you receive it. It is a normal pre-paid service.

        • omg, no comment

  • What's the bottom line? If I redeem one of these vouchers ( "and by proceeding I am agreeing to enter into a legally binding pre-paid contract with Sure Telecom Pty Ltd" ), under what circumstances will they charge me more than the $2?

    • +1

How can Sure Telecom charge you more money if they don't have your credit card details?

      • Yeah, got it.

    • One example would be, if you lose your sim card after 1 week but still have credit on the sim and want another sim card. We will charge you for the sim card replacement and postage.

  • I'm not big on mobile phones- only keep mine for bank authorisation codes and car breakdowns- and I got a few of these thinking that 24/7 yabber for a month would be something my mobile using friends might like, but I can't give them away. Seems everybody has unlimited plans these days. Well I never.

    • Buy the vouchers as gifts!

  • Deal sounds great. I had signed up for their $1/gb with a pocket wifi for $40 in October last year. Three months later, I get a letter saying the offer has been withdrawn. Now I have a pocket wifi device which I have no use for….

  • +1

Thanks for clearing things up Neil.

  • Last question, can i port my number when I activate the service, instead of porting it when I redeem the voucher?
    http://www.suretelecom.com.au/main/page_self_service_prepaid…

If I choose PORTING option in link attached above, when will it ports?

Before you guys sending it out? or ports it when I activate the service sim??

  • The port will only occur upon activation, Sure Telecom require those details upon sign up to have those details loaded in the system ready for the port.

  • So, back to the $5 referrals, can't see that in "My Account". Where do I send the link on?

  • +1

It seems suretelecom needs to start looking for a new marketing manager or someone with better ideas for promotions. Instead of getting 500+ positive votes, people is confused and afraid to deal with this company

  • This campaign has been running for only 1 day now and has been extremely successful for the company and more so the new customers. Thank you to those of you who have signed up and a great thanks to the team at SureDeal for their hard work (and of course OzBargain!)

    • And to the Q about referrals? ^^

      • Not sure what referrals and $5 you are talking about? If it is to do with a Sure Deal scheme then please speak with them to find out.

        • Ok. Victim of the similar names, SUREly.

      • +1

i emailed suredeal they said they removed referring link and are working on it and should have it back up soon under my account. how convenient when this $2 comes around.

  • Deal seems extended.

  • I am still confused after reading all the comments! I have a post-paid plan that will finished end of July -> planning to port to a temporary $2 sim card.

I kept reading that the voucher cannot be redeemed until the deal expire (which is in 3 months?!) so if you buy the voucher now, you have to wait 3 months to redeem it…what? please confirm =/!!

    • Uh, no one mentioned you can only use this after 3 months. Buy it now and you should receive it within 10 days where you can then activate it. The 3 month thing is probably useful for those who have Amaysim, Redbullmobile, Woolworths prepaid, some post paid contract, etc. that they need to use first.

      • right… so please confirm if this is correct:

        1. Buy the deal from SUREdeal
        2. Receive the voucher "instantly??" via email?
        3. Redeem the voucher here: http://www.suretelecom.com.au/main/page_self_service_prepaid…
        4. Wait at MOST 10 days
        5. Receive the sim card and port it from my $2 (FREE of charge..?)
        6. Enjoy 30 Days of service
        7. Free port out to another sim card or continue using it for $40/m.
        8. This service is prepaid so you can never go over the limit, and you can check how much credit/data you have left (how btw)
        • Yep, that's it (or as I interpret it).

        • anyone know how to check how much credit/data you have left?

EDIT: My bad, its unlimited LOL -> how to check how much DATA you have left

        • Data check only on request. You are unable to exceed the data.

    • The deal closes in the next few days, then you can redeem the voucher and the sim must be activated before the voucher expiry of 90 days.

      • So if I buy the deal now I can't redeem the voucher straight away?! according to SUREdeal website the deal will end in 96 hours = 4 days…? so I have to wait 4 days to redeem the voucher? please confirm!

EDIT: I purchased it (finally) it says valid from 31st July, I guess I can't redeem it until then!

so Rep please confirm that I can redeem it anytime from 31 July - 31 October?
-> then you wait at most 10 days for sim card to arrive
-> then activate it and receive 30 days of service from the date of activation
        -> free port out/in
-> since its a prepaid how long will your number last after the 30th day (if you don't recharge)?
-> how to check data usage?

  • -> then you wait at most 10 days for sim card to arrive WAIT UP TO 10 DAYS FOR SIM TO BE SHIPPED
-> then activate it and receive 30 days of service from the date of activation YES
    -> free port out/in YES
-> since its a prepaid how long will your number last after the 30th day (if you don't recharge)? 90 DAYS
-> how to check data usage? ON REQUEST

    • Re: Data usage. Any warnings or cut off notifications generated? say at 80% and 100%?

    • Rep, just curious how you hope to compete with other Optus MVNOs also offering unlimited at $40/month or less, with metering and more data, after this honeymoon offer is over.

      • -1

We provide Land line, Mobile (Vodafone & Optus Networks), Mobile Broadband, Broadband, NBN, ULL Optus Network Fusion Bundles, Latest Mobile Contract Plans supplying our own phones such as the Samsung Galaxy SIII, 13/1300/1800 Number services and Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Plans and of course prepaid plans. All these products are currently offered, however our product range is rapidly expanding.

Not many other Optus MVNOs can compete on all Australian Telecom services like we can at the best pricing and value in the country.

As you may know, this is one of the best introductory mobile offers Australia has ever seen and with the huge number of customers signing up to Sure Telecom, why would you leave when you get better, if not the same mobile value + access to the best pool of telco services at the best price that you can add to your one account.

        • which one of your product (http://www.suretelecom.com.au/main/page_products_sure_teleco…) that superior than amaysim product? or redbull or dodo prepaid?

        • All of our companies have great products with a competitive edge in many different aspects.

        • from the price is not mate, just check it yourself, rather than you make this comment, without solid base to defend your comment

        • Yes it is. Your talking about cents and tiny discrepancies. Sure Telecom have products that Amaysim, redbull etc.. do not even offer. Amaysim have products that outperform Sure Telecom and so on and so forth with all those companies, if you are looking for a different product than Sure Telecom have to offer then that is fair enough, there are good companies out there.

Sure Telecom is one of the most competitive all round telco's in the Australia as the products and pricing proves all on its own.

        • please tell me what is your prepaid product that superior than amaysim and redbull. please put your some proper comparison in here. I believe you have study in the univ in here and you know when you have argument, you need to put the evidence on the table, rather than arguing your product is superior than other companies.

one more, i am not the one that put neg vote on your comment. i just want get fair comment from you.

        • We are not quoting superior products, we are simply stating that our products are exceptionally competitive in the Australian market. Customers can compare and make choices for themselves and considering we are not here to argue or talk about other companies, we will discontinue this conversation.

If you have any questions about our offer, feel free to ask.

        • "Not many other Optus MVNOs can compete on all Australian Telecom services like we can at the best pricing and value in the country"

"why would you leave when you get better, if not the same mobile value + access to the best pool of telco services at the best price that you can add to your one account."

"All of our companies have great products with a competitive edge in many different aspects"

"Sure Telecom is one of the most competitive all round telco's in the Australia as the products and pricing proves all on its own."

you know that the best mean number one (good, better, best), number one = superior.

if you admitted that your comment previously was overstated, then I agree with you that we need to discontinue this conversation.

        • All of the above comments are true. We do appreciate your interest in our company.

        • true of what? overstated?

        • Nobody expects the joanna inquisition!

I didn't neg you OP BTW. Must be a disgruntled customer. I'm neither gruntled nor disgruntled. :)

  • far out this is given me a head ache~ Try reading peoples comments it warps ur mind ~_~"

  • still active for 3 more days

  • I am sure i filled out the form properly,so i get a call the day after saying i didn't put my address down. Then i get an email saying that you have not provided the full voucher code. Please send full code so that we can update our system.
Why doesn't Suredeal just send it to Suretelecom, strange.
    What a shambles.

    • You wouldnt have put your address or code in the form properly.

SureDeal do send us the codes, they do not have the full details of each customer, you do not fill out the application form with SureDeal, you simply buy the voucher.

We cannot match a SureDeal voucher code with your 'part' code so therefore the voucher would not be able to be redeemed. I am glad it has been sorted though.

  • hey rep, it would be great to use the simcard as soon as possible by picking it up @ your office (baulkham hills)..how do we do this? I'm going to your office in 31 july when the voucher is ready to be activated..

    • -1

All applications must be lodged online, Sure Telecom will receive your voucher to redeem and will be matched to your application. As stated in the offer, all sim cards will be mailed out within 10 Business Days, unfortunately this gets done from our Melbourne dispatch and will not be available for pick up at Baulkham Hills.

  • REP As deal is expired now, can we redeem voucher now?

    • Redemption of Vouchers is tomorrow. However, you can make the application via the prepaid mobile application section on the website and the applications will be process accordingly starting from tomorrow.

      • I made the application on the 25th itself.
I expect processing should have started.
Will we get an email to indicate all went well and the SIM is on its way?

        • -1

Sure Telecom began processing the applications on the 1st Aug. We will get into contact if anything is incorrect in your application, aside from this all sims will be posting within 10 Business days.

  • How would we know if the application is successful?

    • We will be in contact with each customers application that is not successful.

All successful applications will have their welcome pack sent out by the 14th August.

  • Has anyone received their sim yet?

    • -1

No sims have been sent yet. As the offer indicated, please allow up to 10 Business days for your service to be posted.

  • Please fix ur site, i encountered this page when i redeem my voucher

  • Mine arrived today.

    • Good News. Call us on 1300987132 to activate your service when you are ready. Make sure that you activate the service before the 31st October.

    • Same here,
      will activate first thing tomorrow,

  • Mine arrived yesterday too.

  • +1

Can we activate it at the self-activation page?
    http://www.suretelecom.com.au/main/page_self_service_activat…

    • Yeah, I wanna know too. Otherwise I'd have to pay for a 1300 call or find a landline to dial from.

      • If you do not want to call in to activate please email [email protected] to call you back or complete the activation online.

    • Yes you can.

    • before activating, I put the SIM in and tried calling a number,
      this got redirected to ONEMobile,
after giving them my voucher code they redirected the call to SureTelecom.
SureTelecom asked for Voucher code and SIM number and advised it would be activated today.
It was activated within a couple of hours.

  • Received my SIM today, was activated within minutes of calling. Call quality, reception and data speeds are all good. Thanks for the deal rep. :D

  • One of the best deal. Now no reason to stay on Telstra….

  • Do you need to do some settings before you use the data service?

    • Apple iPhone - Reset to iTunes
Other - Set APN to 'internet'

Most phones will automatically accept the new sim card and enable use of the data

  • If you have bought this voucher from SureDeal, please do not expect your sim card to arrive at your address because you bough the voucher.

You need to make an application for a Sure Telecom pre-paid mobile using your voucher through the Sure Telecom website and your sim card will be posted within 10 Business days from your application.

Quite a convoluted series of steps, but a reminder doesn't hurt for those who've forgot.

      PURCHASE: http://www.suredeal.com.au/all-deals/deal/2704 (GONE)
      APPLY: http://www.suretelecom.com.au/main/page_self_service_prepaid… Receive,
      ACTIVATE: http://www.suretelecom.com.au/main/page_self_service_activat…

Can vouch for those first two, but am not port(/activa)ting ST's SIM until late October, before I need to.

    • I didn't know that we had to make an application using the voucher through the Sure Telecom website ….and I was waiting for the sim. Why so many steps to get a sim card?

What form of ID can be given if someone is a temporary resident and doesn't have Medicare and Asutralian Driver's licence

      • -1

There is not so many steps.

There is 1 step to get a sim card from Sure Telecom.

Step 1: Make an Application for a pre-paid mobile on the Sure Telecom website.

There is no other step at all to make an application for a pre-paid mobile. If you have this voucher, then it's a great bonus! But still there is only 1 step.

All Customers must be Australian Resident.
