        There goes that deal then…

        • Yep. I got a $0.00 on a “calculating” Amazon order. Correct me if an wrong but as this is a “boosted” rate would expect it to be so.

  • -3

Westpac still aint responding to my application tf

    • Mine was instant and I did it on a public holiday aswell.

Why don't you go just into a branch with your ID?

          Amazing deal, BG.

Would you happen to know the answer to this one?

If you add a mixture of items (some of which have a 0% cashback rate) in a single order / transaction, will CB still work for the ones that are > 0%?

          • +1

@DoctorCalculon: Hmm, I actually don’t know the answer to this one actually haha

I’ve dm’ed @gotyourback about your qu on OzB

            • @BargainsGrabber:

I’ve dm’ed @gotyourback about your qu on OzB

I thought GYB was still on leave. That's why I asked you. :-)

              • +1

@DoctorCalculon: Nah, looks like back from leave as I received a respond from the eBay Westpac enquiry.

Worst case is you make multiple single transactions :-)

          • @DoctorCalculon: Pretty sure I've read somewhere here that SB or CR tracks amazon purchases per item, but don't quote me on that.

            • @ATangk: Yep. That's what they usually do when cashback rates are segmented into categories.
However, I am not sure whether it will play nice with this promo.

              • @DoctorCalculon: I have prime so theres no $39 threshold I need, I just make every purchase individually if necessary. That said, I have nothing of interest in the current categories.

        • I think I also read in the past that someone said to look at the Additional Info -> Best Sellers Rank.

For the item below it says rank Xxx in Baby….but the top left category says Kitchen & Dining….so which is the correct one for the purposes of cashback??

Guess that's a 0% for the earphones I want, lol. Thanks for rates!

    • +1

What a disappointment that Pantry food and drinks aren't included

  • +5

Bit off-topic but I've cancelled Prime last month and haven't really looked back.

    1. Cashback rates are pathetic now, if it's not 0%, it'll still be in single digits
    2. Most of the good deals are just price matching another retailer
    3. Free shipping from Amazon US was not really offering any cost benefit vs. ordering direct from Amazon US (without prime) and paying the shipping cost (in my limited experience anyway)
    4. The free shipping with no min. spend made it too easy to spend on stuff I didn't really need

To be fair though, there are some great tv shows on Prime Video, such as The Boys.

Nice try MacKenzie Scott’s latest ex-husband

    • The free shipping with no min. spend made it too easy to spend on stuff I didn't really need

      Welcome to OZbargain

    • +1

I suppose it comes down to how much convenience you find in free delivery and ridiculously cheap electronic stuff like hard drives, etc. Price will never be competitive to retail as Amazon wins hands down. Your membership is worth what you make of it at the end of the day.

  • +10

Missing on so many deals by not having a westpac card, but saving so much money on buying stuff i don't need by not having a westpac card.

    • So you’re the one responsible for this runaway inflation…

  • Enough of Westpac please..!!! 🥺

    • +5

I am scooping up as much as they can throw at me.

    • +2

If you can't beat them, join them.

    • +1

I joined Westpac just for this…

    • In a month I have paid for the annual fee twice over with cashback……72000 qantas points posted 30 days after getting the card……points club plus achieved…..won’t even try to cancel to get the annual fee refunded. Just using it for these offers only now.

  • How to make a partial gift card payment for an item that costs less than my total gift card balance? e.g. buying a $100 item with $90 giftcard plus $10 from my westpac account (assuming I have a total $200 gift card balance).

    • +6
      1. Pre-order Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Deluxe Edition - Xbox Series X for $104.99 using your gift card balance.

      2. Click through ShopBack to buy the $100 item with the remaining $95.01 gift card balance and $4.99 from your Westpac account.

      3. Cancel pre-order.

      • Brilliant idea!!

      • That's if you gift card balance around the same amount. What if your gift card balance is $1000 like some of us from previous gift card deals?
Is there a way to chose to pay part payment with card with Amazon?

        • +1

Same technique would apply that’s mentioned by HomeAlone. Just find any items above $1000 sold and shipped by Amazon AU, purchase it and cancel it later before they ship it out

MacBooks are a great way to quickly apply your gift card balance and cancel it later

          • @BargainsGrabber: How much time do we have before it's too late to cancel? When do they ship out?

            • @delfredo: Mine’s usually shipped out by the early arvo for next day delivery

            • @delfredo: Look at the order in the next xxx hours to receive it on xxx line and you should have a rough idea. Just cancel before that and you are good.

          • @BargainsGrabber: Thanks but thats really a hassle.

Getting a bit fed up of this westpac garbage. You wont win me over!

    • +8

It's a bit childish having a sook and calling these generous deals 'garbage' just because you don't have a Westpac card. It's extremely easy to get one. I have literally hundreds extra in my Shopback account from when this started. These are really awesome bonuses. Basically free money.

      • +1

These are really awesome bonuses. Basically free money.

You just can't please some folks around here. Really, you can't.

    • +5

They are soon rebranding to ShopPac. Or is it WestBack? In any case, resistance is futile

      • +1

Highly impossible, shopback is a company based in Singapore and has coverage in 10 countries as of now. :)

        • +4

Highly impossible? I beg to differ! If it’s not at most moderately impossible I’ll change my username to DisabledUser5318008

    • +1

      Why not?

  • Does it matter if the store is not Amazon Australia - i.e. the goods are listed on the US, UK or other sites?

    • Yes Au site only. You can buy things from other Amazon sellers but they must offer via Amazon.com.Au

  • +2

Last Westpac promotion Amazon charged me twice and rejected my cashback. Amazon cashbacks usually work for me but when they fail, they fail hard.

  • anybody had any luck with St George issued cards as they owned by Westpac?

    • Don't need to test with luck. Once you have added cards, the westpac tab on SB tells you which card is accepted. If your st george isnt listed, then it wont work.

  • Does cashback still works if Amazon has % discount on the product page like - "Save 10% at checkout" ?

    • It "promotional credit" at checkout so no.

      • Are you sure? I am not adding any promotion code. Just the product has "Promotion(s) applied" discount at the checkout.

        • Add to your cart. Head to checkout and you toggle off “promotional credit” to not have the coupon apply. Therefore, it considered promotional credit used

          • @Sheng: Not possible to remove as it is not a code.
Below "Gift cards & Promotional codes" field is empty. There is nothing to toggle.
That 10% discount gets applied on the top section.

Edit: Looks like I am wasting time as it may be under Electronic" category meaning 0% cashback

  • Only 88 up votes for an Amazon boosted cashback deal?

I've hardly used Shopback this year too since all the good deals have aligned with Westpac.

    • +7

      Too many exclusions that's why

  • Shopback extension just hasnt worked for me with amazon for the past few weeks, On Opera or Vivaldi. In separate computers / houses.

  • OK I give up. What's the easiest westpac account I can open to get these deals? My credit rating is shot so no credit cards.

    • -2

The easiest Westpac account to open is no account, but if you insist

  • Anyone made a purchase that tracked for both? Mine only tracked for the normal cashback this morning, no Westpac bonus yet like previous purchase with ebay when they were both tracked at once

    • Only normal cashback tracked for me too(and one transaction of mine not tracked at all)

    • @gotyourback wondering if there any tracking issues for the bonus?

      • Still looking into this mate, but definitely shoot me account information via DM so I can make sure each case of this is seen to.
