On clearance and instore only

$10 sim - $1 each
$30 sim and $40 sim - $5 each

Wish they had stores in Vic. I'd buy a dozen of them easy as vodafone sims don't seem to expire, and they are much better value now that they throttle data to 1.5mbps after you've used up the included data.

vodafone sims do expire since TPG took over it.
I wish there is something similar in VIC too.

    • Agree 100% …. I bought some and unable to use anymore

Now, I always check the manufacturing date - anything earlier than 2021
      I stay away from.

        Really? That's weird.
I just used one, literally just now, with a mnf date of May 2019. Seems to be going through fine.

Where did you get yours from, what was the mnf date, and what happened when you tried to use them?

        • I used one that was manufactured in July 2019 a couple months ago too.

      • Yeah I had a stack of vodafone starter packs from this deal a few years back.. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/467651

I only got to use 3 or 4 of them out of the dozen or more i bought… due to them all expiring.

        • I remember that deal. That was an amazing bargain.. good times.

Did you try contacting customer service? Sometimes they will mail out replacements if you say the sim didn't work

        • Also had a couple of VF prepaid starter packs that couldnt be activated as they had expired (even though they didnt have any expiry date on them)

          • @mrshorty: If you do not activate a purchased SIM within 365 days of purchasing, it will expire.

    • These SIMs will only expire 365 days after purchasing if you do not activate.

    • fwiw, tpg did not take over, rather the new merged entity operates as tpg telecom. if anything the teo's cashed out and tpg as it was has been taken over in all but name.

The $10 starter packs for $1 are perfect for porting out of Boost and back in. 💪

    Ordered a few.

Things you need to Know: Prepaid Plus Starter Pack: Must activate Vodafone SIM within 365 days of purchase.

    Hoping this rings true.

    • Boost now requires 30 days before porting back in.

      • I knew that Kogan did. When did Boost introduce this?

        • You can be back Kogan without new customer voucher.

      • +1

That's new. Are you speaking from personal experience?

Afaik the only carriers on the Vodafone network require one to be ported out for 30 days to be considered a new customer.

        • I tried to port back into Boost at day 25 and online activation didn't work. Then when staff tried to do it manually they said it's a 30 day rule.

@Lets Go Brandon: They must have caught onto us. What will us SIM hopping sluts do now that these new customer promos are drying up! 😱

      • Not sure how new this rule is,
but I port back to Boost after 28 days without any issue.
That was around Dec last year.

  • Sorry what so Vodafone prepaid throttles with unlimited data?

    • Yep. A few mobile companies are offering it now. Use up all your data, and still have access to Internet. Vodafone has 1.5mbps, which is the best I've seen. Telstra has 1mbps, but only on post paid plans I think. Belong is good too, they recently upped theirs to 1mbps. Boost has it too I believe, but it's only 128kbps. Too slow to be useful really

  • Yep big lottery if not activated before 365 days after purchase.

    Don't bother now.

That said would go for $10 sim porting in/out :)

Vod. Please stand far from me.

  • So, no chance for me in Brisbane?

  • Can the $40 prepaid plus Sim be used to activate the $40 365 prepaid plann

    • Yes in December

      • Thanks, ended up purchasing from woolies. Currently $15 save $25. $15 for a 1GB 365day a year will work well with my kids Life360 phones.

  • You cant pick it up nor can you deliver it… how is this a deal? In Victoria

  • Confirmed activated the 365 days $40. https://www.vodafone.com.au/prepaid/plans/pay-and-go
When activating the sim it provided the 28 day $40 plan or 365 day $40 pay and go plan. 1GB plenty for a life 360 phone.

  • This or the $5 Aldi sim for JB perks vouchers and sign up offers? Does this Vodafone one automatically recharge afterwards? Is there a way to turn that off easily?

Oh $1 sim only valid for 7 days :( in what mind I thought $10 sim will be valid for 30 days.
