  • What's the touch screen on these like? Worth getting as a surface style device to notetake on?

    • It won't be that quality. Good for everyday use, wont recommend note taking

  • +1

These were ripper when I was teaching at a couple of schools!!

    • +1

Sounds good. How long ago was that? Can you explain 'cellular'? Does it have a Sim card slot?
What would be best use scenario for that feature?

      • 2020 I used them. Sturdy, fairly fast and overall impressive.

Not sure I used the cellular feature but it allows to connect to a cellular tower I assume using a sim card similar to how we use phones:)

        • Thanks for your reply. So not long ago, which seems okay and very usable.
I can understand that it can take a DATA Sim Card for obvious reasons, however OP mentions CELLULAR, suggesting mobile phone calling capacity also? I'm not a tech head, however I usually just tether from my phone to my other devices for online connectivity. Was just wondering whether this has a point of difference. Cheers..

          • @dusty4: changed the title to avoid confusion

          • +1

@dusty4: Apple uses the term “Cellular” for their 4G/5G iPads, it’s a common term for cellular data enabled tablets.

            • @Mitch889: Thanks Mitch889. Yes, I'm aware of the cellular term being used for Tablets. I have a Android 4G dual Sim tablet also.
It's just that I haven't heard this term used when referring to a Laptop.
The OP, has since removed reference to 'cellular' in this post.

          • +3

@dusty4: "cellular" is just the American word for mobile telephony of many types.
What seller should have said (and did elsewhere) is that these have LTE, ie. 4G mobile data.

Butr nobody buying a cheap used laptop is going to use build in LTE, as it much cheaper just to use your phone's hotspot.

      • +2

The specs say it comes with a 3G/4G Wireless WAN card installed. You have to plug in a SIM card with data. It only does data.

        • Thanks.. what I was thinking also.
          Data SIM only.

  • Heya

    Any further discount for 2?

  • +4

Would have been good if under $300 for wfh tax purposes.

    • -1

Why does it need to be under $300?

      • +3

Full tax return under 300 for wfh otherwise depreciated over 300.

        • +1

Cant you claim it as 350$ at 85% business use = $297 claim?

  • Is the ram upgradeable. 8gb is a bit limiting . Also i see u have a i7 with 16gb ram on your website. Can that be discounted?

P.s can i buy it without the ssd for further discount ?

    • I would be keen too in the i7 16gb

      • me too
(even i5 with 16gb would do) but 8g is too low considering it is soldered

        • Ditto

      • Interested too.

    • Not at the moment. Sales will decide. Most likely price is going up on i7 as we have limited quantity.

      • +4

If you put it on sale, we can clear the stock tonight

      • Possible to buy without the ssd?

        • Don't recommend buying without ssd as we install os to complete necessary checks

  • +1

I too would be keen for i7 with 16gb and a bit bigger 15 inch screen. TIA

  • +1

    Is the 8gb soldered?

    • Yes

      • There had to be a catch :-( .

  • thanks. bought one. pretty good for the price.

  • I also bought one after warching some reviews. Has 6 month's warranty and want to try the LTE.

  • This seems super cheap, Yeah it's older and even for a reconditioned laptop 9i assume thats why the battery is lower). What am I missing?

    • Soldered ram.

  • What's the weight of this?

    • 1.28kg

  • Thanks. Ordered a 512GB for son for school. Do you sell an active stylus to work with these?

    • Send me an email, might through in one

  • @untech I have sent a message. Not sure which to get and need some help

    • +1

      Please check your messages

      • Thank you. I have replied. Cheers

  • Received mine today! In the 'disks and volumes' section of Windows 11, it says drive health estimated remaining life: 12%.

Is this concerningly low? It sounds very low to me!

    EDIT:
Crystaldiskinfo also reports 117TB Host writes and 53TB host reads.

    • How was condition

      • +1

Physically, great condition! It's a well built machine.
Bit of a small resistance at a certain point in the hinge when I open it but that could be normal at manufacture, feels as solid as I'd expect a used machine.

The device wasn't factory reset completely, had been used a little with some browser history of a few days and a download. But as far as I could tell seemed to have been wiped 5 days or so prior around the time I ordered.

Just a little concerned about this SSD reading as it makes me feel ilke there could be other stuff too. But otherwise everything on the surface level seems good! Don't know how to check other components yet like cpu ram etc.

    • can you reach out to me through email. We won't be able to put windows if health is 12%. Will give you the steps to check the health.

In terms of resistance on hinges, it's because this model has strong magnets for better 360 rotation, shouldn't be an issue

      • Will shoot an email today!

RE: hinges, it's a slight "bumpy" resistance when the laptop is opening from "laptop config" to 'tablet config', rather than from closed where the magnets are. Like it's not perfectly 'smooth'.

But to clarify for all reading, I'm not worried about that, it's a very subtle thing, and could even be the way the laptop is manufactured. I was extremely happy with the physical condition of the laptop when received.
