Kogan SmarterHome 10W Smart LED Bulb (E14) Pack of 4 $9.99 Delivered @ Kogan

150
FREESHIP

Original Coupon Deal

Duplicated from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/755133, but the mods wanted this as a new deal instead of modifying @BlakeP's deal.

$2.50 per smart bulb delivered is cheaper than a basic halogen bulb from Bunnings! Even with Kogan's awful reputation this is a stellar deal.

@illiterate confirmed they're standard Tuya wifi bulbs and don't actually need the hub (just another Kogan upsell).

NOTE: I might have been given a bum steer, it seems that BlakeP's specific link is the bluetooth-ONLY model which does indeed need a hub to work.

The wifi-only models are this deal link, but only the e14 4-pack is $9.99, where the E27 and B22 4-packs are $18.99 and $19.99 respectively. Sorry about that.

Probably need to add that to OP? Also the gu10 are not 10W and only 5W.

  • I've heard these can be used with Google/Alexa even without the Kogan hub (even though it says it needs one) — correct?

    • +2

Only the wifi specific version. My deal link above needs the hub to connect the Bluetooth bulbs to your wifi to enable smart features like voice commands from Google & Alexa.

You have to check the page every time you change product selections - Kogan has a crappy way of swapping products around on their site so it's not always clear which model you're looking at. The page image usually is the quickest way to check as it'll have the Bluetooth logo versus the wifi logo in the picture.

  • This product needs Bluetooth Mesh to work better
also The device is only capable of connecting with a 2.4GHz wifi network, it is not compatible with 5GHz wifi networks.

  • The GU10s are a Bluetooth mesh, their WIFI ones that I grabbed last time are sold out, just waiting for the restock to replace all the bulbs around the house but I have them setup in the living room and absolutely love it.

    E27/B22 is not $9.99

    • +1

      Yeah, e27 $20 for 4 pack.

I have the 10w E27 for about a 2 years now and no problems.
If someone buys this I recommend using Alex's for voice commands. Elexa is instant. Google voice commands take like 2 seconds to turn off on.

"Alexa, tell Google to turn the lights on faster"

      • -1

It’s amazing how your Amazon voice assistant is faster when you keep calling it Alex and Elexa :)
        Edit: username checks out

        • Android auto type spelling mistakes, didn't realise until after someone had replied so couldn't correct the spelling mistakes with edit.

  • Perfect, got some to resolve the family fight over yellowish vs blueish lounge lighting

      Now it’s just greenish?

      • +1

Well still in the post, so for now blackish & blueish.

        • The dress changes colour according to voice commands now.
