[Pre Order] Gigabyte AORUS 17H BXF 17.3" Laptop: RTX 4080, 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM, Win11, 360Hz $3899 + Delivery @ Mwave

61

For anyone wanting a higher refresh and larger form laptop with a RTX4080, BUT has a few wins/losses on the recent Lenovo Legion @$3619 if still available (education store), otherwise the base price of over $5599 or $4789 (business account)…but for nearly 2K cheaper, stacks up well:

  • Aorus (i7-13700H) vs Lenovo (i7-13900HX) - Lenovo win: better multi-core performance. Both are fast!
  • FHD (Aorus) vs WXGA (Lenovo) -> Lenovo better resolution, but more processing/power. Mixed win?
GPU: RTX4080. Aorus boost clock @ 2010, Lenovo at 2280: Lenovo win
  • 360Hz (Aorus) vs 240 Hz (Lenovo) refresh rate —> Aorus win
16 Gb installed (Aorus) but 64GB max vs 32gb installed and 32Gb max (Lenovo) Lenovo win? depending on use case.
Form factor - personal preference (mine is 17.3" vs 16") as its 16:10 vs 16:9 - Aorus win
Work time - seem both to be similar with ~7hours for "office use" productivity - same
and probably further differences on the input/outputs (bluetooth 5.2 vs 5.1 etc), hinge design, cooling, noise, speaker tuning, keyboard strike, etc etc etc

  • $194.95 cheaper on eBay Wireless1 if you have eBay plus. So total $3,704.05 delivered.

    • Even if you don't have eBay plus, it is $4.99 for a month and the discount already offset membership.

RRP is not a deal. Plus, you are losing out huge on performance, its not trading blows against a legion 7i pro in anyway:

    • 13900HX is essentially a desktop 13900K binned for mobile, fullset of P+E cores plus large 36mb L3 cache, 13700H is refreshed 12700H, no upgrade on either core count or cache and at most 10% performance uplift compared to previous generation

    • better cooling with the vapor chamber on legion, and 175w 4080 vs only 150w 4080 on a 17' nonetheless on the aorus

    • I dont know where OP got that legion can only take 32gb of ram because it absolutely can take 64gb, 32gb on each slot, plus, more stock ram to begin with, only 16gb here

    • a 16:10, QHD 240hz, 500 nits with gsync screen is in every way and form -except raw size - better than a 16:9 1080p 360hz screen thats goes up to around 350 nits max - every brand even dell is going 16:10 in high end machines, except gigabyte

    • legions charger is higher wattage (330w vs 280w) but still much slimmer since its a GaN charger vs traditional thick big brick on the aorus

legion 7i is 3.6k for much better specs, even if one can not access edu store through a mate, its 4869 with coupon BUILD and taking into account of cashrewards makes for 4.5 grand which is worth the 600$ considering the spec upgrade compared to this one here.

    • I have the edu access, but can't find the 3.6k price on Legion 7i Pro. Can you please confirm if you still see that price?

Hi mate, just checked and buggers it went up to 4.2k for me as well, someone need to mark the other deal as expired.

Would advise waiting for another drop. Otherwise you can still use CR with edu store right now which makes 3.9 grand.

Lenovo Legion is Core i9-13900HX and not the i7. Need correction mate.

Lol as though any non-CS pro can tell the difference between a 360hz and 240hz screen.

i don't much about computers but i dont see why you'll buy a laptop for close to $4000 with only 16gb RAM

    • I know a bit about them and you're not wrong
