DealsDirect 30% off Site-Wide - 3 Hours Only Tomorrow (28 July) from 6AM-9AM

630
3HOUR30

Just got this in my mailbox. DealsDirect is running a 30% off site wide promotion tomorrow morning for 3 hours only, between 6AM and 9AM. Yes I need to read the email multiple times to make sure it's correct — certainly weird hours to run a promo I guess they are just trying to minimise the people taking up this offer. Pretty big discount though.

  • So absolutely no exclusions?

    • Not from what I can see in the email. However, I am getting this info second handed (although a reliable first hand) so we'll see.

      • +1

Amazing if true but I'm finding it difficult to believe. Maybe they'll put up a special 'limited' selection for the 3 hours. I'll keep an eye out if I remember not to sleep in ;)

    • Yep. From my experience, prices are generally all RRP (no, really!!!) at deals direct, so the only good time to buy from them is when they do these promos.

  • Whoa! Sounds good will keep a look out. Throw in free shipping too and then we're talking… XD

  • Hmmm, the HDDs seem pretty good if the discount works on them.

    Also… BEER!

  • +2

6am-9am, basically when everyone will be watching the Olympics opening ceremony…

Awesome deal though… I've been waiting on a good promo for DD, for over a month! It's been difficult!

Need to make sure I'm up on time tomorrow!

    • +2

LOL not a chance i'll be watching the Olympics at all "basically when everyone will be sleeping because they've had to work the day before"

  • +4

I've taken down the prices of some of the things i am getting and we'll see tomorrow if the prices go up.

    • Good idea!

    • I have seen in the past usually when they send vouchers like this , they do tend to bring prices up
they always changes the prices for weekend(( usually lower))

  • hmm so 4-7am Perth time….lol no chance

    • +1

Of what, getting the deal or waking up?

    • i think the Olympic opening ceremony is that time too.

  • wtf $9.95 shipping cost not a fair deal should be free.

    • +3

because express post satchels are free?

    • they aren't charity unfortunately.

  • some items currently on special finish tonight e.g. queen bedsheets

  • Are they safe to buy SD cards from? Ie are the cards genuine?

    • +2

Never mind….I just saw the prices.

  • What do you guys think about this
    http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/intel-i5-quad-core-pc-i5-240… for $599
    After 40% is $419
The CPU is $190 ( newegg ) already.
    Any advice is appreciated.

Edit: what im after is a cheap gaming PC under $1000. Supposedly, if i get this one i will need to upgrade the GPU (maybe another stick 4gb of ram).

    • +1

      Core i5 2400 $200 AUD
      Gigabyte GA-H61M-S2PV Intel mainboard $56
      Kingston ValueRAM 1333mhz $22
      1TB 7400RPM drive $87
      DVD burner $20
      Case and power supply $50 + 50
      Windows 7 OEM $89

      $574

So yeah, that is a good bargain if you can get it for $419!

However, that PSU would need upgrading (don't trust generic power supplies). Get an Antec Neo Eco for $50 to $60 from MSY.
The case most likely also needs replacing, as its not a gamer case it would not accomodate longer video cards.

      • Thanks for that, does Amd 8cores worth it $ ?
        http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/amd-8-core-pc-3-1ghz-16gb-ra…

EDIT: The thing is i only need 4GB of ram, 500GB of HDD

      • How about http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/nzxt-gamers-edition-intel-i7… its $1008. All i need is Win 7 OEM $89.
Ah idk, i go to bed if i wake up in time, then i will think about it.

        • Did you end up getting any?

I got the i7 upgrade. Pretty happy, fits my needs as I have a decent gpu and psu from my old system.

        • nay mate, i saving $, too many part that i don't need, work out i don't really save any $. I can buy n replace but personally i dont like to waste any thing. Enjoy the fruit of your labor.

    • +1

The $2 shipping promotion ends tonight so may not be worth it tomorrow as some of the savings will go into shipping.

      • The perfume's would be worth if you need a couple for gifts, yourself, etc as it has a capped $6.95 shipping and with 30% off their prices its a good deal!!

  • +1

anyone after laptop, i reckon good deal
    http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/acer-timelinex-notebook-15-6…
490 + shipping gett 256 gb ssd for 170 ish and use the the 750 gb hdd or sell it for around 70 bucks
and you have a 256 gb ssd, i5, 4 gb ram and 1 gb graphics for 600, good price, if you in the market for a new one

  • What yous reckon for the dyson DC39 for $600 now but $420 after discount ie if the price remains the same.

    • I was looking at the dc39 too.. Def. buying one if that's the price tomorrow!

      • Go for the Allergy instead of the cheaper multifloor version (best would have been the animal but it's sold out)

We have the DC23 Motorised head and a DC 34 Animal and those rotating brush/motorised heads do pick up dirt/clean a lot better IMO and we have floorboards/carpets at home.

    • Okay I will, it sucks…

  • Did anyone else get this email? I have'nt, neither my partner… starting to wonder if I'm getting up early for nothing! :)

    • I got the email from the affiliation network, i.e. where cashback sites such as StartHere and Buckscoop got their commissions. I do hope that it's true, as 30% off site-wide is unheard of on DealsDirect.

      • I've had a 20% off plus free postage before, so I'm hopeful its real.

    • I got the email just now.

  • Was looking to get the Dyson DC35, but it's since been gone from the website. =[ I even had it in my cart

    • Cool. Thanks for the update.

Now note down all the items and their current price to make sure there's no surprises tomorrow morning :)

      • Thanks for the deal as always Scotty in you I trust

its 3.12am in Perth now…Can verify coupon is working, and all the products i looked at yesterday were still the same price.

Unfortunately, the coupon doesn't apply to their shipping, so try to go for free shipping items or combined shipping bonus items.

Good luck guys, time for some sleep zzzzzz

  • I think the seagate 3TB external hardrive for $132 delivered is a good deal. The drive inside is STAY3000200 which is 7200RPM + 64MB Cache drive.

    http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/p/seagate-expansion-desktop-3t…

    Just bought one! Thanks.

  • +1

Compared my cart with last night, all the same and discount works as advertised!

Dyson gear is a bargain with the coupon! Thanks Scotty :D

  • Cancel that - they're all back now after browsing other items I checked back and there they all were

I was looking at picking up some canon ink cartridges (yes I know it's cheaper with refills or CISS systems but bear with me) and there's now just one listed on the site when there was over a dozen different types/packages when I checked at around 10pm last night…

I know I probably shouldn't whinge but was looking forward to applying the discount to these items :-/

  • Reliable enough to buy a laptop on that site??

  • Worked - got my bargain Dyson handheld and Nespresso Pixie ;-)

Deals Direct has always been pretty reliable for me & now the price is right.

  • Picked up Lenovo thinkpad for $259 inc shipping, will hopefully use the powerbuy $50 off voucher.
    many thanks to Scotty.

    • was just about to post the same thing.
the T&Cs for cashback through powerbuy says that this doesn't apply to things bought with a discount code though. think this would mean that the 3hour30 would invalidate the claim?

      • Bugger. That will teach me not to read the fine print.

        • just checked the invoice and it doesn't refer to a discount being applied so…

        • Confused mine doe's

          Shipping: $14.95
          Coupon Discount: $104.99
          Total (including GST): $259.91
GST component in this order: $23.63

Which invoice are you looking at?

        • mine's got the following - but I paid through PayPal. that might make a difference?
          Shipping: $24.90
          GST: $35.34
          Ex GST: $353.45
          Total Inc. GST: $388.79

it's the invoice on the website, I haven't checked the version in my email…

EDIT: should have mentioned that i bought some in as well, hence the total not being what you'd expect :-)

    • +1

      How does Power buy work.

    • Link please for the Lenovo. Can't see it.

  • Just got myself the DC39 allergy vacuum. I confirmed that this was Australian stock so we should get 2 years manufacturers warranty plus 1 year warranty bcos i used my CC card.

  • +3

    Geez, it's down..

  • Down for me as well. I can browse, but am unable to add to cart. When I get past that, I can't checkout.

    • as of 8:13am it's back up for me
-edit - nvm, down again (half way through checkout :()

-edit 2 - crashed half way through checkout, but still purchased - fingers crossed!

  • Anything worth adding to my ozbargain junk stash?

  • +1

I ordered a 240GB sandisk extreme. Most of the other computer stuff (tablets, netbooks, some monitors) looked like refurb or old stock (stuff that couldn't sell when it was released).

Got through the checkout, got to step 4 and it said down for maintenance but I can see my order in the account area.

I think down for maintenance means their server has reached a peak user limit and is dropping connections.

    • Keep hitting refresh and it will go through

  • Any Bargain?

  • -6

F***! Dc39 out of stock!!! Why did I get up so late!

    • I'm not giving a negative vote for the item being sold out, I'm doing it because the site keeps crashing! So as hard as I tried I couldn't buy a damn thing..

      • +1

Should have got up early :)

  • DealsDirect.com.au is currently down for maintenance.

Please check back soon to take advantage of all our hot deals!!!

    Ozbargained already????!!!!

  • The 3tb seagate externals come to 122~ each with the discount, not a bad price.

  • Thanks to the OP. Just bought an Acer Aspire Notebook 15.6in, i5 2.4Ghz, 4GB RAM, 750GB HDD - Win7 AS5750G-2434G75 for $429. Product is EOL but a bargain at that price.

Site keeps going down eyao, just refresh. Site also crashed at payment page but order shows in history and PayPal payment went through.

  • Seems the site is straining under the load

Saved $200 all up on a new PC for me dad, perfume for mum and some alcohol for myself.

Can't believe the discount was site wide. No wonder they have the special at such a early bird time. Just makes u wonder how much their markup really is???

    • Maybe they're going bankrupt lol.

    • I reckon they are selling them at a loss or close to break even. The profit margin for some competitive items are very slim these days. Instead of paying advertisers, they are paying customers to visit them as a marketing exposure. Smart move.

    • "Saved $200 all up on a new PC for me dad, perfume for mum and some alcohol for myself."

Don't get those mixed up will you :-)

  • Thank you for the significant coupon information. I also experienced the site problems, at the very last step of checkout. However upon checking the order history it appears the order did succeed and dealsdirect sent me a receipt.

  • -3

Are these prices already discounted or do I need to apply some kind of coupon code? :/ The site doesn't mention anything about this promotion or discounted rate

    • +1

Code is 3HOUR30 as per the OP.

      • Thanks! Can't believe I missed that. Feel so silly now >.<

  • WTF about to buy a bar stools but first they accepted the coupon then got a message of site maintenance & now its saying coupon INVALID.

    • +1

Sorry Got through later thnx DD revoked back my neg

  • Thanks OP. Grabbed a couple of things I've been wanting for a while. Site is being flaky but got my order through eventually.

  • ok it just is not working with 1 min to go.. :(
Edit: I got it through! Hooray I saved $10 :)

  • -6

Not Happy DD! Everytime I hit checkout got the site currently down for maintenance message.

  • +1

Awesome deal! Saved $250 on products I know were already more in stores! I'm happy but the CC isn't!

  • +10

From their facebook page - DealsDirect Hi Everyone, we will keep the coupon live until 10am to ensure that you can get through the checkout and get your 30% off.

    • +2

      Good on em'!

  • Is the Dyson DC39 Multi Floor Vacuum worth it for $430 delivered? I missed out the better one.

Edit: Bought it. It can't be any worse than my ducted taped together Vax. Love the 30% off :) hate cleaning :(

  • I bought up big, could only use the coupon code once per account, so had to sign up twice, took about 30mins to get through earlier, but as soon as 10am came around it all fastened up again.

    • Don't know why i got a negative vote? I placed an order for myself and then my Mum wanted in on the deal, so had to sign her up to a new account.

  • $300 worth of wine. Well worth it.

  • INVALID

  • Just bought pair of shoes and adidas fragrance for $40 delivered. Niiice.

  • Cheers, saved $120 on a bed.

  • Funny how the Dyson vacuum cleaners I tried and failed to checkout then came up as sold on retry, are now available and "In Stock".

Isn't that amazing! I'm sure it was just by accident that they stumbled across some stock right after the sale.

    What a rort.

    • Same as the IBM thinkpad Tablet which i managed to buy. Out of stock @8.00AM,ish. Now in stock.

    • I think the checkout process reserves stock for 20 minutes. People most likely added it to cart and didn't buy. I wanted the allergy model which is now in stock. I bought the multi floor. I blame myself for not getting up at 6am.

      • +1

I added the allergy to my cart last night. Woke up at 7am and purchased it.
