Singapore Airlines to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Wuhan & More from $797 Return [Apr-Dec] @ Beat That Flight

180

Singapore Airlines - one of the best in the world, transiting in Singapore, one of the best airports in the world, on your way to China!

China is open again in that you don't currently need to quarantine, but you do still require a negative COVID test. Be sure to check the type of visa you're travelling on and the requirements/limits, as they vary for countries and start dates vary too.

Routes exist to many cities, but I thought I'd price check Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and for fun, Wuhan. I have an ex-colleague from another role from here who recommends it.

There also appear to be some beautiful hotels on discount

I've heard great things about the Wuhan markets

    • +19

I figured it was 50-50 if someone would say markets or lab in the first comment! :D

      • -1

LOL it was the first thing I was thinking too when I saw China and Wuhan LOL

EDIT: But on serious note. I would love to go back to China at some stage but not this year.

    • +3

😁 Now you can do lab tour as well after lunch at the market 😁😁😁 exotic cuisine 🦇

    • +1

It'll become a tourist attraction faster than you think

    • The Wuhan clan ain’t nothing to f@#k with

  • +5

    Subscribed for interesting comments 🍿

  • +2

Please note that Tourists Visas to China are still not open yet! As of now, you need a business/education/family reason to enter.

    • +2

A lot of Chinese in Aus who haven't been back to visit in a while :/

      • +1

Yes for sure - just advising the non-Chinese peeps who might want to jump on a holiday deal to be careful!

  • Spend your tourist $ on supporting the downfall of your childrens future at the hands of the CCP. No thanks.

    • +11

I'm pretty sure children's future was already on a down fall spiral with Tik Tok, instagram, Twitter, processed foods and poor education system.

But correct me if I'm wrong.

I'd still go to China. Don't agree with the government on many things but the people there are lovely and the food is top notch.
Not all the citizens are brain washed and they are humans too so the hate needs to stop.

      • +1

I agree… We can't put the blame on the people for what the gov does.
CCP sucks.. but the country is not.

It's the same around the world isn't it? US and us(Aus ^_^) and etc…..

        • -1

US is way worse than China.

They have done illegal things including war crimes and gotten away with it.

And if the US doesn't get their ways they will put sanctions or ban things from that country which they are doing now.

          • +3

@SpeedRunnerLink: Oh yeah… The Uyghurs in China would love a word with you about "which government is worse".

            • -2

              @Ruddaga: Nah i'm good.

I think the Middle east and parts of South America (Like Venezuela) with their opinions are enough for me.

              • +1

@SpeedRunnerLink: Yeah nice comparison comparing a country's literal genocide of its own citizens for their religious beliefs vs a country engaging in military combat.

Special type of smart aren't ya mate 🤣

                • @Ruddaga: LOL, I'm wasting my time with you. Pretty obvious your mind is brain washed by the west.

Maybe if you take off that blind fold from CNN then i might consider you to have a little bit of intelligence.

          • +2

@SpeedRunnerLink: Never had to be stuck at home for years due to anything the USA has ever done. So please dont compare the crimes of the Chinese Communist party to those of anyone else.

I am 100% against US foreign policy, but the Chinese are the worst criminals on earth, worse than ISIS.

      • +2

        Tik tok owned by who?

      • +1

He didnt say anything about the people, the food or the country.

I been to China before and it is the Government that you have to worry about. Even Chinese people know this and that is why they run away in droves. So its either sit in China and bow to the CCP, colaborate to the CCP or get out of dodge.

Its not racist to point out that a gov't is evil. This arguement is right out the Isreali playbook of making everythingn about race. Next thing we gonna start calling people Anti-hanmites for pointing out the nefarious things govts do.

    • +2

the boomer generation hands already ruined everything when they climbed the ladder and pulled it up behind them for their own retirement benefits. no help required from the ccp.

    • +3

Many moons ago I worked in procurement of local and imported components for manufacturing. You'd have 10 samples of varying quality, and invariably the manufacture would choose the cheapest component that was a quality they could use. That sample was often from China.

Many already profitable Australian businesses made choices like this, purely to return even more profit so some people could buy big houses and foreign cars.

To find who is resonsible for this we need to look closer to home than China unfortunately.

      • It goes beyond competition. China is actively hostile towards Australia (and vice versa to be fair).

        • I agree it's not a great diplomatic relationship, but my response was to the "downfall of our kids future" comment.

It's our way as a nation to look for someone else to blame but corrupt gov. policies and treacherous business ethics have helped us down this path.

      • +1

exactly, too much fud being spread passing the buck to China trying to hide Australians own dirty laundry. the new gen isn't falling for the same bs anymore

  • Thanks OP, can't wait to check out Wuhan markets!

  • -4

    Wuhan lab.Wuhan lab. Wuhan lab.🥶

    • Fort Detrick ! Fort Detrick ! Fort Detrick !

  • Thanks OP.

  • remember when the CCP called every other country RACIST for making chinese travellers get a negative test before arrival? as usual, media silent on CCP hypocrisy as the racist scum make everyone entering CHYNA get a negative test.

    • +1

all the chineze shills negging a perfectly common sense comment.

  • +1

Was Wuhan a tourist destination before the pandemic?
I don't remember seeing Wuhan advertised much before

    • +2

Internally, in China, yes. It's got a good reputation for food & tourism.

      • +2

        Try the Bat!

  • Interesting that the fares to Wuhan cost more than the other destinations

    • Probably not as popular any more as a destination.

  • Deal for Wuhan aye…. 🤔

  • Can you still leave singapore airport and explore the city during the transition? Can't seem to see any flights with longer stopovers though.

These are good prices for SG. But their service has been so-so compared before Covid.

But, I should have not watched that gutter oil in China episodes. I miss eating street food in China. Damn it.

    • Not to mention their non existent customer service (in Philippines) n don't even think about lodging complaints because you won't get a response.

    • Came here to post the same thing, post pandemic their (economy) service has gone to shit. Not sure if they've pared back crew numbers or what but they are rarely in the cabin outside of service times & requesting things like a drink is a 30+ minute wait for a half full glass. They expect you to go to them at the galley now.

  • BNE to Shanghai during Christmas break would be good 😫

    • It is.

I've been twice to Shanghai for Xmas and its always been a blast.

Fine dining / Michelin star restaurants are really priced compared to other countries.

  • No deal from Singapore Airlines to Japan ? That would definitely be more popular !!

    • Direct is better

    • There was roughly 4-5 months ago you missed it.
      They had $800 return roughly.

  • All the epidemiologists out in force in here

  • From what I've heard, China is becoming quite difficult for foreigners to travel to due to their increasing dependence on electronic payment methods - a lot of places will not accept cash or card, but rather something like WeChat Pay which requires Chinese bank account. Friends from China say that while not impossible to find places to eat that take cash, it is getting more difficult.
