  • Interesting. Budget mesh system sounds good but performance yet to be determined.

Bought for my parents. Works extremely well. No drop outs.

Running the similar Mercusys S12 (3 Pack at home), haven't had any issues with it for over a year+ for 2 of us streaming content constantly. Not sure what the differences are between the S & H series.

With that being said, my set was $80 or so, and these budget packs often run promos where you get an extra unit. So iffy on the bargain here.

    • Ah nice so this is a know brand. I would have bought this if I didn't get the TP Link deal a few days ago.

Mercusys is a line of products made by TP-link so the performace should be about the same.

    • From a quick search your model and the one listed perform about the same, speed wise at least.

    100Mbit Ethernet ports.

  • Does anyone know whether these still work as a mesh when you put them in access point mode? That is. I wanna keep using my existing router.

Tracking down and downloading the manual wasn't particularly useful.

    • Yes they should. Had a look on the website just then. Seems to work exactly like the tplink decos.
Only reason I'm not sending a three pack to my parents is cause it's 10/100 on the Lan/Wan ports.
Kind of useless if you have a fast connection.

      • The app looks like a rebadged TP-Link Deco app

  • Do these support a wired backhaul?

  • Bought the two-pack on the weekend. Very happy with the ease of set-up via the app, and the performance. Have tried a few wireless-extender solutions over the years but this just works so much better.

But I know nothing about technology.

  • So update 3 weeks on since purchase of the 3 pack and must say not impressed.
Our net is fttn and with Optus using a Sagemcom modem.
I mean it connects but the speed is actually less and disconnects are frequent.
I have set in router mode but will try in access and see if that works over the next few weeks.
Unfortunately lose a lot of the functions we wanted in router mode.
